All other flip flops I have from LLBean are size 9, these are physically smaller then what I have. Disappointed in the change.

My shoes size is 8.5. I ordered this flip flop in 2 sizes 8 and 9. Both had too much excess area by the toes. The size nine almost did not have enough area at the heel. Both pairs toe thong were too tight making it hard to slide your feet in. It's sad because I really like the cute design.

I've bought these flip-flops often in previous years and found them extremely comfortable. The two pair I got this year are poorly made--the toe piece so small that it's almost impossible to squeeze in my feet. These might just be defective--but both are the same. Sending them back, with great disappointment.

I've bought several (comfortable) pairs of bean flip flops over the years. Bought the light purple ones and the navy rainbow ones in my usual size, of these so-called "original" model. Big nope. The strap (the V-shape part) fits way tight across my foot. I held up one of my other flip flops from a past year purchase next to these and could see that the knotted strap part that goes between your toes is MUCH shorter in this year's model. The old-style flip flop I compared it to was from a past year but hardly worn, so this is not a case of the older model strap stretching with wear. Somebody screwed up on the measurements this year, or they expect us all to have feet as flat as pancakes. Sadly returning both pairs; they are really pretty but hurt too much. Exchanging for a larger size is not going to solve this problem.

I buy a new pair of the Maine Isle flip flops every year, probably for ten years...always a size 9 because these ran big. This year's 9 was very small. Re-ordered a 10. Small..something is WAY off from past years. Here goes one last order...for an 11. Not impressed with their obvious change.

Super cute flip flops, but they didn't last the whole summer. One of them split at the toe. They weren't worn that often, just came apart. Disappointing.

I was excited to see these back, but they are not the same. They used to run large and now they are true to size. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but now the inside strap rubs right at my arch and they have a more plastic-y feel to them than they used to and that starts to hurt when they rub. These used to be my go to flops because they were comfortable from day one and they lasted. If I'm going to pay this much, comfort and durability is a must. The comfort was missing for me.

I will be returning these flip-flops, which is something I rarely do . . . anywhere. I ordered a size 9, but received a size 8 . . . not a big issue. But, the rubber soles were way too stiff and hard (instead of comfortably soft). I really liked the style of these flip-flops, but that was totally lost to the discomfort of the soles. This is the first time I have ever bothered to write a review, anywhere, as I'm hopeful that L. L. Bean will improve this product so that I will reconsider purchasing it again in the future.

The base of the flip flop has ripped away from the footbed. I've only been wearing them for 1 week! I have purchased multiple pairs of the Maine Isle original flip flops and in the past, I've worn them each for 2+ years.

Please. Raise your prices but stop manufacturing in China where speed is more important than quality. One fit fine the other's strap was almost 1/2 inch off center. One step and my foot slid sideways off the sole. I'll make do with my old ones, I guess.

The sizing has changed. I purchased this for someone who in previous years was able to wear this original style flip flop in a particular size. This year it was much too small for her.

I am so glad I got the updated version of this before they changed it back! The updated version was not as long as the old version. It was much more comfortable and didn't flop about. The new "updated" old version is too long and the sole feels hard! I am returning the blue mist with the lobster traps even though I loved it. I know a lot of people wanted the old version back. Not me, Guess you can't please all the people all of the time.

The soles are thick and promise for good walking, but the flip flop thong is hard on your upper foot. I feel like they are digging into my feet. I bought these for vacation and left them at home because I didn't want sore feet on the beach or anywhere else!

I have had the Maine Isle flip flops before over the years and never had a fit or comfort problem. But this updated version with leather LLBEAN logo above the thong area is very stiff and after only wearing for a few hours in the evening, when I went to put them on again in the morning the top of my feet where the leather rubs was very sore and tender. Ouch! I could not wear them.Apparently the leather was too tight and rubbed on my flesh with each step, only I didn't feel it until the next morning! Maybe they need a breaking in time? I have never had this happen with the original Maine Isle flip flop. Anyone else have this problem? I love the rest of this flip flop, and have not worn them long enough to see if the black rubs off or not like some of the other reviewers mentioned.I need the thick rubber sole for padding when I stand or walk for any length of time for support. I only wear these around the house as I have hardwood floors. And only in the warmer months. I bought these on sale sale in September but was unable to wear them due to the cooler weather arriving here in GA. That's when I put my Wicked Good LLBEAN slippers on and they stay on thru spring! As far as these flip flops go, I will try again to wear them once the soreness goes away. But if I can't get past this issue of breaking them in,then they are going to be returned.LLBEAN do you have any advice??

Bought 2 of these a couple years apart... and both have the same issues. And as I just found out, same feedback as others! Hard as a rock, never conformed and after a while black dye rubbed off to my feet. One day I wore them for 10 hours and the bottoms of my feet were pitch black.

They are really comfortable and resistant but after some months of use they started to dye my heels off black.

These shoes used to be great. I mean, they were always loose and floppy but, the quality over the years has sagged. Not only that, there used to be a larger review section that fleshed out how the shoes have changed over time which is no longer there. So I am supplying a new review of my experience. The foot bed used to be supportive and they are not anymore. Again, LL Bean, as I put in my previous review that disappeared, please let me know when you start making these like you used to, I can start buying again. Total disappointment.

I ordered these flip flops because the description said they had arch supports....if they do, I sure can't find it. They are cute, appear to be well made and I probably won't pay the shipping to send them back, but I won't buy any more. They are flat as a pancake!

I have a couple new pairs of flip flops now with black bottoms, I guess they no longer have good arch supportvery disappointed. The flip flop is flat, please bring back old model! One of my feet ended up getting sharp pains in my arch after wearing the "new" style.

Normally my size is 9 1/2 AA, but since manufacturers now seem to have abandoned the idea of making narrow sizes, I have tried to find ways to order shoes that fit me, have hit on getting a smaller size (because width sizes are proportionate, so smaller sizes have narrower Medium widths), and so order this (which comes only in full sizes, not halves) in size 8. The fit turned out to be fine, however, the big knot on the strip between the toes scratched and irritated my skin there. Had to return, too bad, cute flipflops.

I bought these Maine Isle flip-flops about a month ago, and my feet slip sideways in them and fall off the base of the shoe. When I wear them at the pool and they get wet, my feet just slip all over the place, so I'm returning them. There is no way to tighten the straps to adjust them.
