I loved the feel of this shoe and was amazed at the comfort. After the third wear of this shoe, the inside sole started to curl up from the back. I went to the manufacture but never heard back from them. For the price of the shoes I would expect the shoe to hold up better.

When I originally purchased these I gave a rave review. Over time wearing them I began to have excruciating metatarsal pain wherein it was painful to put any weight on my left foot as it felt like my bone was actually pressing on floor. I finally decided to stop wearing Maya as my theory was, they were so large, my foot , the front part especially, was spreading out way too much combined with the lack of arch and slight heel was causing my foot to slide forward, exacerbating the pressure on bottom/front of foot. I did try on the smaller size in the hopes that foot would not slide/spread so much. I do like the look after all of the Maya (I might have liked to try same size in narrow, but I believe Maya didn't come in narrow). Bottom line is I wish to revise my previous 5 star rating to a one. Since eliminating Maya from my wardrobe, my left foot metatarsal pain has all but disappeared. I have even been able to wear a small heel (an old pair of Ara brand - the Jenny...wish it came in plain black or navy these days so I could get a fresh pair). On another note, it seems that Aravon has sadly stopped making the Tammi, which was the perfect pair of maryjane with a low wedge heel. I am trying my hardest to take care of my one and only pair of Tammi's...they are light, padded around ankle and toe box, absolutely no pain whatsoever, with decent arch support and no buckle. The strap has tiny bit of elastic so the shoe stays on but is never tight and is great at airport security (am flight attendant) slips on and off, no need to mess with buckle. I went a half size up but in narrow 11N to avoid any problems as I did with Maya...if you can find a pair left on amazon, I strongly encourage you to do so. I would be buying a few pairs right now if I could find them in my size in black. Will be writing Aravon to complain. Anyway, hope this helps.

I was disappointed with not only the fit, but also the look of these shoes. I had never bought this brand before and wanted to broaden my horizons by trying a different brand, so I bought two pairs. This pair was a no go as soon as I put them on. I looked like I had clown shoes on and were stiff. They also were also too long.

I was so excited about this shoe, but I'm disappointed. I kept it because I'm so desperate, but be aware that this is a very clunky looking shoe and is not as comfortable as it should be considering its lack of beauty. I walk about 11,000 steps in the course of my day, and by the end of the day the shoe is pinching my little toes -- the toe box just isn't wide enough. I do not have abnormally wide feet and am perfectly comfortable in Princess Reeboks, but I just can't find a decent dress shoe. The leather is very stiff and unforgiving. A real disappointment.

I was excited about the style of this comfort shoe but it seemed to run shorter than normal or the heel height made my foot slide forward which impacted my toes at the top of the shoe. The toe-bed is hard & stiff which caused severe pain. Was unbearably to wear.

Love these shoes but the heel is too big. I'm sorry to say that they are have to go back. I may try another pair if aravons in a different style, in case it's unique to this particular style.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Zappos! Best customer service ever.

Sad... I have really bad shape feet so I was so excited when I found this pair. I received Avaron Maya and tried on. It seems very nice! So I wore them a few hours. Pain... My balls of feet hurts so much I don't want to ware them anymore. I can't return the shoes because I already wore them. They are going to eBay... I give 1 star because I can't ware them but over all they are very good shoes.

Reading other reviews I thought to order 1/2 size smaller but it was too short, Exchanged for my regular length but the shoe was too wide, I have narrow foot, and would have to be held on by ankle strap which was uncomfortable. Wish it would have worked for me but Had to return!

It just goes to show just how individual a matter shoes are. I buy quality most of the time it is well worth the price. Not here. The color brown is nothing like that displayed in the picture; the actual color is a drab brown, sorry. The leather in the picture looks rich and thick; in reality it is thin and feels cheap. The fit is fair, but sorry folks this shoes is in no way worth even 1/3 the price.

I wanted to love these shoes. They're fairly cute and are super comfortable to stand in for long periods of time, but if you need to walk - forget about it! The soles on these shoes are the most inflexible that I have every worn. (And I've worn a number of wooden soled clogs that I considered easy to walk in). These just felt so clunky and just impossible. I was so sad to return them. I have wide feet and width on these shoes is wonderful!!
