SAS are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn and I have tried a lot of shoes. Out of the box I walked over 3 miles in these new shoes and they only rubbed slightly in one spot, under my ankle bone. I’m sure that will fix itself once they are broken in. Another reason I love SAS is because I can buy a narrow width. It’s always a problem for me to find shoes in a size 10 that don’t fall off my feet. My only disappointment in these shoes is that the red color is darker than they appear online. I wanted a brighter red. For that reason I almost sent them back but I knew I could not find anything as good for the sale price I paid, so I changed the black shoelaces to white and that helps.

I have had three pairs of these shoes for years, and they were wearing out. I was so happy to find that I could order them on line. They are quite expensive, but they are the most comfortable shoes I have had. I can put my othodics in them and they work well. The shoes hold up incredibly well, since the old pairs I have just worn out must be at least 10 years old. I would recommend these shoes to everyone. I have a very narrow heal, and find it very difficult to find comfortable shoes. These are the BEST!

The most comfortable shoe I have put on in a loooong time! I loved the fit - and it felt like walking on air - nice and cushiony. The padded tongue is lightly padded which I appreciate it not being heavily padded. Some shoes have so much padding at the tongue that my foot feels tight. This shoe gave me a lot of room for my feet to breath. Also, it sounds basic, but they give you a long shoestring! By the time I tie other shoes, I'm lucky there is 5 inches left to tie a bow. Plus they give you an additional pair of shoe strings which is very nice. I have various foot ailments (from trauma induced arthritis from crashing into a tree while zip-lining, to flat feet that over pronate,and beginning of hammertoe) so finding a good fitting and feeling shoe has been very difficult. Luckily Zappos is great about returns. I am returning this shoe as it is not as sturdy as my foot needs so I am ordering the harder leather version of this Free Time Shoe this one is more the cow hide leather and not the support I needed. I also ordered the Walk Easy so I am hoping one of those work. What DID work oddly enough was a pair of SAS sandals, "Laguna" that even though a sandal - it felt great on my foot for special occasions like a wedding, etc. I have not found a sandal I could walk in, let alone feel comfortable in until the Laguna.

Have this shoe in black, brown, red, denim & now sage nubuck, all size 8 wide. I obviously like them despite the cost: made well in USA, great colors ( love the red & denim); come with extra laces ( where would you ever get denim color laces), which are the ‘flat’ type and stay tied unlike round ones. I can put in my own insoles & orthotics but the shoes come with a good insole. I do find that SAS in other styles are not as true-to-size so it may take some ‘trying on’ to get the right size. I wear these with a medium weight walking sock. To match the shoe or pants. I don’t feel they look dowdy but Oxford-style trendy especially with jeans or khakis

Most comfortable shoes I have worn in ages. Recovering from severe sciatica and MD, podiatrist, and physical therapist insisted I get shoes with string support. Found good pair of sneakers but needed something more ‘dressy’. While these are not fashion forward the comfort makes up for lack of style. Worth every penny.

Absolutely love the shoe and is extremely comfortable. I will just be returning it to order it in a size wider for the toe area because of my smashed toe from a year ago.

I bought these in the denim, medium width. I am 5'5", overweight, 69 yo, have osteoarthritis in both my knees. I'm doing well on Weight Watchers, but still needed a shoe to cushion the impact of walking. I don't find that sneakers/athletic shoes fit the bill, no matter how much I pay. The fit of this shoe is perfection. I like the color, and the arch support. They are just a quality product in every way, so I expect them to last at least a couple of years. I know lace up shoes can be a hassle, but these are constructed in a way that they are easy to get on and off right out of the box. I feel like they were custom made, just for me. Thanks SAS! I'll be checking out your sandals for summer.

great shoe - just didn't fit my feet

I have difficulty finding the right shoes! My feet are a little too big for most size 11s, quite a bit too short for most size 12s. Also wide, with high arches and plantar fasciitis. So I take advantage of Zappos’ great return policy and order a variety of brands and sizes, going by previous experience with different brands. In the past I have generally found SAS shoes a little short, but wide enough, so I ordered these in 12M. They are plenty long, but slightly narrow for my wide feet. I should probably have tried a 12W. They seem very comfortable, and have a reasonable amount of arch support, but I will probably return them. They are so nice and soft that I am sure they would stretch out to be wide enough, but darn, they really look like old-lady shoes! And even though I am indeed an old(ish) lady, I would like a little more style...

very comfortable shoe for my mother. She has high arch and wide foot and needs a shoe like this. It is true to width. Instantly comfortable and gets better with wearing. Soft sole and very supportive. Easy to tie laces. This is her second pair, and the style has changed a little over the 3 years she has had them, so to be expected, (see picture below). Overall very happy with the purchase. Had to order two or 3 pairs to make sure she had the right fit, and then success!

These are still my most comfortable shoes ever! I have had them for about 20 years, wearing them during my teaching years. Now the outside does not look good enough to wear away from home, but I use them almost daily for walking the dog in the yard and working in the yard. SAS is totally amazing. I am now waiting for them to come on sale!

I ordered these shoes for my mother. She is an amputee. Her pediatrist recommended SAS shoes. We can't find them in many stores and when we do they usually are out of her size. We like the fact that it is free shipping both ways, in case we have to return. The shoes did fit perfect, & are very comfortable. We found our new shoe site! Will definitely be ordering more shoes in the future!

I am a Nurse. I am on my feet at least 12 hours or more every day. I have bought this same shoe for probably 15 years. Sas has been around for years. Each time I need a new pair of shoes I look for this same pair same white sas shoe. They fit perfect every time. The only change is the price. I used to pay almost 100 dollars for the shoe. Now it comes close to 200 dollars. They last a long long time so I am ok with 200 dollars for a shoe I ware over 12 hours a day. When I take them off I have NO foot or leg pain at all. Great support.

I bought these shoes for my 91 year old mother, she put them on and wore them. She loves them so much, first pair of shoes in years that she could wear comfortably! She liked them so much after two days she asked for another pair!

I am giving these shoes an excellent overall review even though they did not fit me. Zappos.com now has SAS! I am so glad because it is so hard to find SAS shoes in stores close to me. I used to wear this style back in the'90s. My feet have changed and I find that this shoe no longer suits me. My feet sank too deeply in the shoe and the tongue of the shoe dug into my leg. Also, the width felt slightly less wide than it should be for me. I also need more arch support than was offered in this shoe. Other than that, it is a well-made shoe and SAS is an excellent brand. This may be a style that no longer works for me but I can recommend to others to try. The blue color is very attractive and the workmanship is excellent.

Great supportive shoe, but slipped off my heels. I couldn't decided between these (Free Time) and Willow - so got both to make a decision. I love the Willow most and am keeping them - especially for summer. I think they're much more summer-like looking and so soft and comfortable and way more fashionable. I have terrible and painful feet. I believe I will get a pair of the Free Time shoes in black for winter. And last but for sure not least - I couldn't do without Zappo's. I don't buy shoes anywhere except at Zappo's

These shoes are great for long walks and travel. Not the most stylish, but neither are sore feet.

Very good looking and comfortable shoe. The heel fits a little loose, but not enough to diminish the overall comfort and walkability. I have some hammerhead toes, and some recurring toe callouses, so the height and width of the toe box is very much appreciated. An unexpected, but not unwelcome, plus is that the shoelaces are the right length...not like some other makers, which are so long one needs to be careful not to trip on them, PLUS SAS gives you a second pair. I plan to buy more in other colors, but the denim is very attractive and versatile.

I love these shoes!! I just bought another pair. They are so obviously exquisitely crafted. Their comfort is amazing. I was a little worried to spend this much but after having three foot surgeries this year I wanted a quality shoe. These are it.

On my feet all day and these shoes are very comfortable.

I struggle with shoes and tend to only wear athletic shoes. Imagine my delight when these cheerful red shoes not only fit my wardrobe but fit my feet. Comfortable for walking and standing!
