This shoe strikes the right balance. It's supportive like many of the Salomon shoes I've used in the past but adds just enough cushion for long runs. Likewise, the traction adds just enough grip for 99% of the trails I frequent in east Idaho/Wyoming.

I bought this shoe to replace my Sense Ride 3's because I have some big-toe issues, so I wanted a shoe with more of a rocker style. - Very comfortable out of the box (cushioning is like a cloud but not unstable) - Mesh is covered in welding so durability should be very good - The tongue has a notch to accommodate the Tibialis Anterior Tendon (even more comfortable!) The only downside is that the stitching for the lace "garage" is too tight so it takes quite a bit of wiggling to get the plastic bits of the "speed" laces into the garage, especially compared to the Sense Ride 4 which is super easy to get into the lace garage. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. They have enough grip to handle some moderate trails, enough comfort to last for long runs, and they look just so darn sweet on my feet.

This is one of my all-time favorite shoes by Salomon, so I purchased this shoe for my husband as a gift. He has a wider foot, so the shoe has to be flexible for it to work. Many regular widths do not work for him. He was happy to discover that this one did, and he is very happy with the how comfortable and cushioned it is.

I have fallen in love with these shoes. I have been trying to find other Ultra Glides in the colors I like. These shoes are so comfortable it feels like walking on air.

This shoe has everything that a trail runner could ask for. I bought this shoe when coming back from an injury, and was looking for something that provided more cushion while still benefitting from the awesome tread Salomon shoes provide. This shoe immediately surprised me as there was no need for a "break-in" period. It fits true to size, and provides plenty of cushion while not sacrificing any weight. I was shocked at how light these shoes still were despite more material. The Ultra Glide also does not break down easily, as it has endured Alaskan mountains, Utah desert, and everything in between.

Been running in this shoe for about six weeks. Very impressed with its ability to handle everything we see this time of year. Frozen ground, mud, and snow no problem. I was a little worried it would be stiff but pleasantly surprised by the feel of the shoe.

Great shoe to have in your quiver. Good all around shoe including logging miles or a race day shoe. Has a plush ride but is surprisingly responsive. Runs true to size in Salomon line.

I have been running in my ultra glide's for two months now, both trail and road and could not be happier with them. Superb cushioning and support. Lacing is a breeze. These shoes provide such traction and grip, that I do not have to worry about anything other than the view in front of me, such confidence on the trail. Solomon constructs a very dependable, durable shoe, I will not run in any other brand.

I have waited for a "max" cushion shoe from Salomon for a while now, and wow, they delivered! I used this shoe for everything from 50k hard pack/rocky races to lush singletrack 100 milers and everything in between. The grip, although not super luggy, handles mud, rocks, dirt, and even through a little in a bit of pavement if necessary. This shoe was a long time coming and you nailed it Salomon

I run in four seasons environment. I have found there is no one shoe that can do it all. I bought the Ultra Glide to slot in between the Sense Ride and the XA Pro. I read the reviews prior and took them into consideration. Thus far, I have found this to be a great shoe for me. I use them on well worn trail in dry to moderate conditions. I have a very natural neutral gait, narrow foot, medium arch. The fit is solid, the responsiveness/cushioning balance is on point and even it wetter conditions I have not had issues with the insoles slipping. Would buy again.

After a bad experience with an S/Lab trail running shoe I was skeptical to try another Salomon shoe, but I'd alway had good experiences with other Salomon products so I gave it another try and bought a pair of Ultra Glides. These shoes are perfect for me with the caveat that I need to wear wool socks with thickish padding to make them feel just right. I normally use socks with light padding but that made the insoles of these shoes feel raw and a little too roomy for me. The cushioning and energy return are excellent. The grip on wet asphalt trail transitions works really well. I love these shoes so much that I promoted them to go-to trainer and bought another pair to use on alternate workout days. The moral of my experience is to find and use the right type of socks AND to not let my one bad experience with Salomon products ruin my perception of what can be.

Take a ultra 3 and a pulsar, combine them and you get this. For anything short- mid distance or everyday training, this shoe rocks. At low speeds it feels solid and stable but when you lean forward it accelerates like nothing else. Absolutely love it as my everyday training shoe.

I've always ran in Salomon's because for my foot they have always been the best on technical trails, great support and foot hold. I know these aren't specifically for technical trails but I'd put them up against any other "max cusion" trail runner on technical trails. Great foot hold and support, and at the same time more cushioned than any other trail Salomon. Also light weight with good toe protection and adequate rock protection underfoot. I've put almost 100 miles on them on hard ground and rock with little tread wear showing yet. They are all around my new favorite trail shoe.

Just over 100 miles in these Glides! I have ran trails, hiked submits, and casually walked the outdoors. Great for the elements. Super comfortable. Easily my go to shoe for backcountry adventures.

These shoes are great for trail and road! The right amount of cushion for any surface or distance. Fit true to size and runnable right out of the box! If you can find them in your size you won't be disappointed!

I've put just under 100 miles on these shoes in the past two months on trail, rock, and scree throughout Utah and some of Colorado. What I like most is the balance between cushion and stability. Even with a nice cush ride I never felt like I was high off the ground and didn't worry about rolling ankles like I have in other cush shoes. I usually wear a size 8.5 or 9 depending on brand, but actually sized down to an 8- I think an 8.5 may have been a little nicer at times, but the 8 felt nice and was only a little uncomfortable on some steep downhills. They did break in very well though adding a little more toe room. The only thing I would add to these shoes is are deeper lugs for a little more grip!

I now currently own 4 pairs of this shoe, rotating with each run. I could not ask for a better fit and I get absolutely 0 blisters with this shoe. Just amazing shoe but I would like to see the lace garage a little larger and adding an extra mm of cushion to the front with maybe a little more vertical space in the toe box.

Very nimble shoes. I like the cushioning they provide without feeling heavy. Also quite durable, still going strong after 300+ miles of running on really rough Arizona trails.

This is my third pair of Solomon shoes, but they can be hard to find and I was once forced to buy another big name brand that was noticeably heavy, unfitting and noisey. The moment I put the Solomons on they fit and are very comfortable with no fatigue over many hours. I also like the quick tie (once you figure out how it works! They should provide better instructions/images) over having to tie and untie laces which come undone or get caught in things.
I'd also recommend:
Seriously? Not one. Tried them all when I could find Solomon.

I've been running in Salomon trail shoes for close to 10 years and have tried every shoe they make. When I put the Ultra Glides on for the first time, it's been hard to go back to my others ones. I have a wider foot and these fit a bit wider in the toe box in comparison to other Salomons, especially comfy for longer distances (2+ hours). They're a great road to trail shoe as the tred isn't super aggressive and makes for a good trasition without compromising performance on the trails (doesn't get caught on roots and rocks if you don't pick your foot up high enough). I was a little worried the sole would be too thick and as a result wouldn't provide the ankle support I need but personally, Salomon nailed it with the thickness of the sole where it's just thick enough with very stable ankle support. It truly is my favourite trail running shoe!

Although I still prefer my Speedcross 5 for wet muddy conditions, the Ultraglide feels lighter and more cushioned and more of an all around condition shoe. It is my new favorite for race day.
