Comfortable as always w Salomon. Great lateral support too

Ive never had good luck with Salomon shoes, as they've always been too narrow for my chunky toes. I had heard good things about the Ultra Glide, so I took a chance. Out of the box, onto my feet, and off on a 10 miler over a steep and rocky course. Two days later, 6 mostly uphill miles at the Loon Mountain Race, and a week after, 28 very hot and humid miles won me over. Fit is just roomy enough in the toe box for me. Traction is good on mud, loose gravel, wet and mossy slabs, and steep grass.

I took these out of the box, and ran 100kms in a mountain race. I did not plan to do this, but due to low stock in my local stores I had to drive last minute to another city to try on a pair. I had planned on running a quick 5 mile the night before just to see how they felt, but alas, with race prep taking longer then expected I opted to go to bed early to get a good night of sleep. These shoes were amazing! comfy and stable with a generous toe box. I found the cuff a little bit high and stiff, I had a just a tiny bit of irritations on my ankles, however a break in period would have addressed this. I walked away from my race with 1 minor blister (on my toe that almost always blisters on a run over 50km). I literally opened up the box, put on these shoes, and toed the line. The best part is that these still look in alright shape. I stubbed my toes a bunch on some fast descents and you can hardly tell, my previous shoes would have torn right open upon contact with some of those sharp rocks. I would never recommend racing in shoes without break in, this was not a deliberate choice, but simply an inconvenient necessity. These were not the fastest shoes, I normally would opt for something a little bit more stiff and propulsive, however running in a shoe for the first time in that kind of distance, those are not the most important qualities. for the intended purpose, I was overall very impressed with the ultra glides. a no nonsense shoes that has great ground feel, ultra comfy, drains water easily, and very stable, even on steep and fast descents. Love these shoes! They have an amazing fit and are a great design for the mountains here in Utah. Hope Salomon offers these wide sizes in more colors...

By far the best Salomon shoe in the range. It's got great cushion and rocker. It's a shoe for every trail you can imagine with comfort. Outsole has good grip, and the shoe durability is very good in general. Only con is the outsole wears a little fast if you use on road, and the insole isnt great, but no reason not to buy. I am seeing the Ultra Glide everywhere now, especially last weekend at Speedgoat, so I am confident in my suggestions.

My first pair of Salomon running shoes and thus far have been super impressed. Cushioning is spot on and the lacing system is slick. Love them!

Bought a month ago feel so good bought second pair. Will look into Salomon's other wide shoes

Many of our local events are on fire roads and singletrack, so I bought my Ultra Glides primarily for races. They quickly became an attractive option for some training runs, even on technical, loose-over-hard trails. As always, the Salomon speed laces are a joy, but it seems the lace garages are getting smaller due to the way they are stitched. There's adequate material there but the opening is small. One of the features that attracted me was the cushioning, and my description of the Ultra Glide is "S-Lab design and technology with additional cushioning."

This is my second pair of the Ultra Glide. The cushioning is good for rocky trails but still the shoe is lightweight and breathable. As always love the quick lace system. Great shoes!

I ran my ultra rides into the ground last year, I loved the shoe. My only Complaint was I wish they were just a tad softer since I run on the road to get to my trails. The ultra glide is a welcome addition to my running rotation offering a bit more softness. These a definitely a bit less nimble but I use the ultra glide for my longer days on the trail. I find them to be a great all terrain shoe and they are comfortable enough to run for miles on the road. The fit is great with any good heel lock so I don't need to tie the shoes too tight. I definitely recommend these even for people who need a bit of support. The structure of the shoe is solid and definitely has some qualities a support runner might enjoy as well. I am very picky with my running shoes and I give these 5 stars!

Had these 6 weeks now and used for 10km trail runs. Absolutely love them for their grip and cushioning. Great for the firm summer trails. Very comfortable and love the quick lacing system but the tongue pouch for the toggle gets covered by the top laces which I am sure is not the intention. Minor issue to be fair and wouldn't stop me getting another pair.

In preparation for a May trail race. The combination of heat, rain, sweat, mud puddles, and increased vegetation growth. The Salomon Ultra Glides are excellent in all these conditions. The shoes are top-quality, supportive, and sustainable trail running shoes. The toe box provides ample room for those extra-long runs in the heat. The fit is true to size. I pair the shoe with the Salomon Running Sense Support Ankle Length Sock for an excellent combination for the trails. I am extremely happy with both purchases. I am already looking for a second pair so I can allow one pair to dry. This is my third pair of Salomon trail running shoes and I have not been disappointed. Thank you!

The exceptional cushioning while keeping the shoe very light and with decent flexibility is what I really appreciate and stands out for me with the Ultra Glide. A lot of the softer, higher stack shoes on the market tend to be very rigid and don't flex well, which can put excessive strain on your achilles and calves. I've loved that the Ultra Glides offer such great cushioning, but flexes very well for a responsive feel that performs equally well for long runs as well as at faster paces. I've been very surprised at how long the cushioning has lasted in the midsole compared to other models too. The fit of the Ultra Glides felt amazing right out of the box for long runs, and I had no issues with hot spots or blisters. The traction is more than adequate for most conditions, though in very muddy conditions or in deeper snow, I tend to go to with a little more aggressive outsole with the Speed Cross. I've been running trails since the early 1980s and tried a lot of different trail shoes during that time. I switched over to Salomon Ultra Glides this past Fall and am very glad I did. They check off all the boxes and I can honestly say are the best shoes I've ever worn for my long trail runs! Great shoe!

Happy with the cushioning so far, hopefully it will maintain the bouncy feel, not the traction of my wildcross but still decent, happy with the purchase

Bought these for my final block of training and to wear in my 100k trail run. The fit was perfect, very easy to get used to (no breaking in period), grippy, and all-around solid shoe. Shoes had plenty of drainage, which I didn't really look for, but glad it was the case as my event had more than a few creek/river crossings and the weather was wet. I would definitely purchase again

I bought these after watching a few reviews, and after a few other models of shoe that didn't feel comfortable over the long distances. These are perfect! Great on the trail sections and super comfortable on the harder, flatter or road sections.

I have owned these shoes for several months now. Initially wore them to hike with my kids and now have started running in them. I have to say the cushioning of the shoes is perfect. It soft to ease the impact of each stride but then also has great energy return. Like many others have said it is a fun shoe to run in. The upper fits great and have had not issues with hot spots. Only wish the quick laces were a little longer as the current length makes is a little harder to get the shoes on. Overall though another great shoe from Salomon.

I've bought two pair of the Ultra Glides that's how much I love this shoe. I've ran in everything from max cushion to zero drops and the Ultra Glide hit's that sweet spot with drop and cushion. I've been using one for road and one for trail. This shoe runs as good if not better then most road shoes. Last weekend I ran the Fourmidable 35k in them and it was an amazing day.

Still extremely happy after retiring my first pair (because I use them for every trail run). I previously had and loved the Sense Ride 4 and decided to try the Ultra Glides at a demo day. I was pleasantly surprised at the comfort, weight and side to side stability (lack of ankle roll!) I found in the Ultra Glide. By answering all of the wish list, for the Sense Rides, this shoe went from being in rotation to the shoe I use for all my trail adventures.

I just got to the 100 mile mark and these are my favorite trail shoe at the moment. Durability seems to be holding up just fine. The cushion is amazing, feel like i can run all day. I also enjoy the fit/upper, plenty of room in the toe box compared to most other brands these days. Overall a great shoe, perfect for buffed out trails/fire roads here on the Central Coast of California
