Seems like a nice coat, but had to return due to fit. I ordered a M, and I am 5'7", 190 lb, 36 inch waist. Sleeves went past my fingertips, neck flap went up to my nose, and it was too baggy.

Within one month of use the feathers have started coming out of the jacket. It is a brand new jacket and lint comes out of the fabric around the wrist

Never thought I'd be rating this product poorly for this reason... but it smells like it just left the Stetson factory. I washed it multiple times and can't get it out. It's really overwhelming when you have the coat on.
Maybe I just had bad luck and got a one-off or a return, but expected better ordering direct from North Face at full price.

The red one has a matching red inside lining. The tan one has a matching tan inside lining. The brown one has a matching brown inside lining. You get the point. So it would be safe to assume that the beautiful Ponderosa green one would have a matching green inside lining. But, you'd be wrong. Instead, North Face opted for an ugly-as-sin blue and yellow plaid inside lining. Like, what? It's literally the only option that has a different color inside lining. All the other ones just match the outside of the coat. You know, like normal. Blue and yellow?! What was TNF thinking when they decided this? Did they run out of green and just use whatever remnants they had lying around?

Very warm. However, the jacket is too bulky and not practical for daily wear unless you live somewhere really cold.

Ordered the McMurdo because I wanted something for extreme weather when I travel to colder climates overseas. I had looked at all the reviews so it seemed legit. I ordered a medium because with most things I'm a medium. When I got it it was way too large. I sent it back and got a small but it still felt too big and the style also felt weird. I'm 5'10" so I was pretty confused as to to why even a small wouldn't fit me, especially after looking at many of the reviews

The large size is bigger than normal large compared to other brand, which leaves too much room at the bottom for cold air to get in. Also the sleeves are on short side so then ordered a medium afterwards and hope the medium size fits better, however the medium is too tight on the shoulders. Sending both back.

It seems warm enough, though low budget I thought , no thrills or added extra's just a coat.

I returned this item, it runs rather on the large side, also, very disappointing to see north face has removed the elastic waist straps that are on most of my older north face gear. Not having these straps allows cold wind to blow right up from under the jacket.

The coat is nice looking and could be warm, but for some reason, there is no drawstring at the waist. The coat is overly generous around the torso and cold air gets underneath the jacket. If you put on several layers it's okay, not sure a NorthFace jacket should require extra layers for function.

This version of this coat should be destroyed go back to the drawing board why would you get rid of the hip string that hug your body when it's colder the mcmurdo 2 was way better the upper kangaroo pockets got smaller can't fit nothing in there then it's not even real down it's synthetic please destroy this model/version or cut the price it's recycled used products that made "new" bad version inflation I see

I had the 2017 era McMurdo which was amazing and the downfill was perfect. It actually kept you warm. This new version feels like paper mache and would not recommend it to anyone. Look elsewhere. Northface quality has gone downhill to cut corners masked by a "recycling" initiative

This parka is enormous. It looked like I was a four-year-old wearing his dad's coat. I would buy two sizes down.

I have owned and older version for years, lost weight and thought I would treat myself to a new smaller size. What a difference a few years make. The new medium I purchased is bigger than the large I already have. New coat is thinner, no removable hood, no sleeve pocket and no face cover built in the hood. I guess they made them better in Vietnam compared to Bangladesh. Extremely disappointed in this purchase. It is as if it is a knock off of my older McMurdo. Taking it back immediately and North Face is off my list of good, quality products.

I bought this parka thinking I was investing in quality by choosing North Face. I was wrong. It has been less than two months and feathers are already leaking out of the seams. For such an expensive jacket, this is unacceptable.
I contacted North Face customer service, but they have been giving me the runaround for days with no solution.
Furthermore, the design is lacking. This parka is missing storm cuffs (the soft, ribbed inner sleeves that keep your hands warm and block the wind). Also, the exterior fabric feels like cheap plastic. It is incredibly fragile; even the slightest rub against a surface leaves a permanent mark, almost like scratching metal.
This product is a huge disappointment. North Face is no longer a symbol of quality for me. There are much better brands out there for this price point. Save your money and stay away. North Face is a regret.

The coat itself is warm. The "fau fur" that circles the hood in in my garbage can, where it belongs.
The fasteners are as cheap and flimsy as could be. Do not purchase this product.

I wanted a warm coat but this thing is so bulky I can't wear it because it's just too large. It's the right size as far as fit, just way too bulky. Not sure how to explain that but think of a little kid in a huge coat - like the little brother on "A Christmas Story" in his winter gear when he can't put his arms down. That's how this coat makes me feel - and I'm 6'4" 235lbs. The feathers inside also leak out of the coat constantly.

It was too large and had to return it. There was nothing smaller than a L online when I was told by the website to order over again. I went to the store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and every product didn't have anything below L. There was even a XXXXL which honestly said all I needed to know about what demographic they're catering to there.
Honestly, never shopping North Face again. The selection isn't there to make me feel like a welcomed customer.

I am disabled from the Marine Corps and live on a fixed income. I bought this Mcmurdo parka about one year ago and it hadn't been worn. I washed it on gentle cycle and cold water and dried it on air only. All of the stitching came out of the back and now all of the down in the back is at the bottom of the coat. I scrimped and did without in other area's to be able to afford this. I thought that I would have a warm winter coat as I didn't have one. I can't explain my level of disappointment. It was 5 degrees here in Nebraska this morning and I am back in a light jacket.
