This jacket is WARM. Also BIG (which is the point). I normally wear a medium jacket - went for a small on this one and it was perfect. I can wear it without layers when I'm out around town on exceptionally cold days and still have plenty of room for layers while mountaineering.

It's been a while since I bought a new NF coat. I had my Triclimate for years and it served me well. I expect nothing but epic-ness from this. So far it has exceeded my expectations 3 times over.

My wife purchased the Women's Arctic Parka in January, 2023, I purchased the McMurdo Expedition Parka in February. With 700 fill, this is by far the warmest piece of clothing I've ever worn. I originally bought an XL which swallowed me up. In a surprisingly easy and friendly return process I was able to get a large parka in a short period of time. As a XP pass member your customer service representatives were kind, understanding and very patient while answering all my questions. The parka is extremely warm, wearing it in my SUV, I have to turn the heater off. It is completely comfortable, with great range of motion and doesn't feel at all bulky. The zippers are easy to use while the hood provides protection and comfort. In December I bought a regular McMurdo, and it's my go to winter wear for average Michigan winters, yet the expedition takes warmth, comfort and style to another level. We got through the 2023 Michigan Ice Storm, 3 days without power with no concern for our warmth & comfort. Amazing, durable, tactical and comfortable. A wonderful piece of winter kit for protecting my old bones. Thanks Guys.

Since the weather has warmed up, my first chance to test it out was on a 15 degree evening. Several hours outside with only a shirt on was enough to convince me that this was well worth purchasing. As with other reviews, it does run big. I purchased a Medium and it has room to spare for layering. All my other jackets are Large and most are XL. Customer Service guided me to a Medium after a conversation and I am glad they did.

Purchased for my husband to replace his 12 year-old McMurdo Parka. They don't make them as they used to or perhaps his happened to be a special McMurdo like this expedition version. This was the warmest of the NF jackets! Tried a few others prior, but they did not match the warmth.

I have always been a huge fan of The North Face. I needed a new coat to replace my Vortex Triclimate that served me well for years. This will be my new piece of winter gear I know will hold up to anything I can throw at it. Looks great, feels amazing. Fit is on point.

Roughing out the blizzard with my new McMurdo Parka. I was worried because some of the reviews stated the coat was "comically large." However, I find the jacket to be just the right size for the conditions it was built to help you survive in; just measure yourself and match to the size charts if you are not sure. In really cold temperatures, I find myself unzipped and feeling warm. Looking forward to hitting the slopes once the roads are clear and doing just about anything outside in cold temperatures. This jacket is worth every penny folks, hope you get one to stay warm!

Living in the Arctic in Alaska, my husband needed a warmer coat this winter. Fits to size, very warm, and he likes the straps to let the coat hang off of his back when we are inside somewhere.

This parka was purchased to keep me warm while out doing film and television production on location in New Mexico in the winter months. So far it has done a great job of keeping me warm while doing my job, which consists of loading and unloading a full size camera truck filled with equipment an average of 3 times a day. Once equipment is unloaded we then hike with cameras and support through the high altitude desert as well as in some remote alpine areas. We are out in the elements an average of 12-14 hours daily, so once we land and are ready to shoot the activity level settles to a minimum and then we are left to deal with the cold or heat or rain with full exposure with the wind being our biggest problem. This jacket doesn't work for all situations but it does it job of keeping me warm when standing still and pulling focus. This jacket fits very relaxed and allows for my walkies and equipment belt to fit comfortably under it. This jacket is perfect for the coldest of days and nights while on location. Fit is relaxed but not too big all the way around.

I picked this up at an TNF Outlet store at a screaming price , perfect for my wintertime move to Fairbanks AK. Needs an internal pocket for water bottle, but the jacket is big enough I can fit a large Fanny pack "under it". Thanks for making the perfect jacket for the Far North

I work mostly outside, This keeps me very warm during those very cold days. I am 5'6 and 200Lbs. I purchased a Size Large. Some say they run big an to go 1 size down. I say don't....Because if you were a sweater underneath you'll feel snug. So 1 size down would be too tight. There are no vents so you may get over heated if you end up indoors for short period of times. Lastly, it comes with shoulder straps on the inside which is very helpful when you go indoors like a mall and want your coat off of you, you're able to take it off an just let it hang from your shoulder. I highly recommend this item!

This is a very nice, very stylish parka with some flaws. In 20 degree wind chill, it kept me totally warm. The fit is perfect IF you DOWNSIZE. All North Face coats I have, including this one, are medium despite the fact I normally wear large. The cons of this parka are the weight of the coat (4+ pounds), the smallness of the 4 external pockets, and the absence of face protection. But it feels otherwise bombproof against extreme cold with the thickness and the waterproof outer fabric. 6’3” 180 pounds, Medium
