Warmest jacket I have. I love that it's waterproof and wind resistant.

This jacket lives up to its name. McMurdo is the American base in Antarctica. I used this jacket in Alaska and it definitely did the job. The over sized design left plenty of space for proper layering and bibs to come up underneath. Anyone complaining about size or anything else simply isn't using the jacket for its primary design. Artic Expeditions. If you're a cold city commuter the good ol McMurdo is where you need to look. The sizing is more for recreational activity.

People keep complaining about the size, but this is the Expedition version of their McMurdo Jacket, it's in the name. If you don't know what an Expedition fit is then go to Canada Goose and look at their Expedition Heritage Paka and you'll see it has an oversized design for Extreme cold weather layering which is what you want in a Expedition Parka. If you're looking for an around the town, slim fit or regular fit parka then go with the traditional McMurdo. It's really that simple folks.

By far the warmest coat I've ever owned. I'm always cold and don't feel a thing in 10 degree weather. I couldn't wait for the temperature to drop knowing I'd be as a warm as a polar bear in this. I'm just over the moon happy with this!

The size issues of this jacket are a bit overstated. This jacket is meant for extreme cold and layering. If your main use is a short walk from the train to the office in midtown Manhattan, then yes you should probably size down 2 sizes. I am 6'0" 175lb and a medium is much better than a small to accommodate my fleece and possibly 1 more layer if need be. A small would be better if I were only to have a shirt on underneath. The main downside is the exterior has no insulated pockets.

My husband is the kind of guy who never wears a "real" coat in the winter, and we have 2 Siberian Huskies that we walk daily. I surprised him with this coat for his birthday, and was skeptical that he would actually keep it. He said it's super warm, and super comfy, and on super cold days I've even noticed him wearing it to the office (which is a big deal for him; he's super particular). The only thing we found odd and got a good laugh from was the goofy straps inside of the coat (so you could wear it slung off your back), but luckily we were able to remove those.

I had been feeling guilty because my youngest son didn't have a C..... G.... coat. He rightfully thought the cost was too high. He now has a great coat, in a color that reflects his extroverted personality, and he is warmer and more stylish than anyone else in the family!!

We invested in this for my brother-in-law, who had been wearing a terrible taupe long coat with billowing pockets. He absolutely loves the color, it looks fabulous on him, and he says it is the warmest coat he has ever had. Thank you for creating a much more stylish look for him!

I bought a Medium. I am 6 ft tall, 205lbs, 46" chest, 33" arm length, 35" waist. It fits perfect for my measurements. The zipper is tough to engage and disengage but it could break-in. I think there is little chance it would ever break as it's over built. This is what a parka should be. I particularly like the rip-stop nylon on the interior with the down. I've always thought bumping into something sharp or jagged would be the end of a puffer jacket and with this parka, that mindfulness can come to an end. Sherpa fleece lining in the chest pockets would have made this a perfect parka.

Use this coat when the temperature drops below 32 degrees and is windy or snowing. The coat is well made and nicely styled. The perfect coat for extremely cold and windy days.

The jacket feels huge but fits perfectly. I know that sounds silly but it's meant to be a big coat that you can fit layers under so wearing it alone it feels big but the armpits and shoulders fall just right. The fir hood cover was a little matted and didn't sit as even as another northface jacket I have but after fluffing it a little it's a lot better. It's very warm, I was out in single digits (Fahrenheit) and had to put the hood down because I was too toasty.

I read the reviews and bought a size lower than I usually would, and it is still slightly too big. I ordered small and would probably fit an XS. I wear L t-shirts for reference. That being said, I stuck with it because they are out of XS so it's slightly oversize but still works great. There are drawstrings that help. I could layer a thick sweater underneath but so far this is so warm by itself I haven't needed to. I've been comfortable at 7 degrees F so far. I like that the faux fur is completely removable. The pockets are great.
