Very disappointed with these...first of all, the backs are very low and I ordered what I was instructed to order...my size, an 8...they are VERY wide even with a sock, I was also slipping out of them terribly. The 7 1/2 will be too short I'm sure. Nice idea, but for me, these are definitely going back.

Could not get my foot into this item, even though it was my usual size.

I got the right size and once on they fit. HOWEVER, they are very hard to pull on. I fell over and injured myself, INSIDE bruises to my side, arm, leg, while trying to pull on shoes to protect myself from falling outside. Definitely do not recommend.

Like all the other reviewers, I couldn't slip this onto my foot. I managed to wrestle it on instead with the hope it might ease and break in over time. But, once on, the overall fit is ridiculously small also. I normally wear size 6.5 or 7. I ordered the 7. It's comically small. Returning and not reordering.

These were too large and I returned them to the store on 12/26/23, now I received thank you for the order and a request for review on 1/13/24.

So as many reported just getting this boot on is nearly impossible. After ignoring them for months, I decided I had to find a way to wear these boots. After maybe 9 months of light wear, they leak. I'm not talking walking through puddles. Just wet grass & the bottom of my foot is wet. Highly disappointed.

Caution on where to wear them. SHOULD NOT BE WORN ON INDOOR SURFACES. Going to a friend's house-remove them. What about going into a restaurant or boutique?

LL Bean should take these boots off their website. All the reviews are the same (and it's true!): the opening is too small for most people's feet and the back of the boot will cause painful blisters. I should have listened. I should have returned. I should never have purchased. They need a redesign!

It was too tight and material too stiff to slip on

I ordered a pair of these on line and they arrived quickly. I tried them on only to find the left shoe fit fine, but the right shoe fit too tight like it was a different size. I returned them too our local store. I would have exchanged them for another pair, but they weren't available in the store or online. They're not even listed on the website.

Very narrow opening to boot - definitely NOT slip-on!

While the shoe bottom might be great for grip, these are not slip-ons. You'll need a shoe horn every time to get these on. The design flaw is a sock like material around the foot entry.

I wanted these for winter bicycling when it's really cold but not too snowy. I ordered 1/2 size up to accommodate thick wool socks. When I got the boots, I tried one on while wearing a very thin sock, and it was a mighty struggle to get my foot in through the hole. Once I did finally get it in, there would have been plenty of room for my thick wool socks. Just for fun, I put on a thick wool sock to see if there was any way I could get my foot in, but absolutely not. Maybe the style "slip-ons" just isn't compatible with thick socks in general? But I'm sending them back. I do have two other pairs of LL Bean boots that lace up, and those work with thick wool socks just fine, so I'll stick with those. I will be interested to see if other people have this problem, maybe it's just me.

I should have listened to the other reviews before I bothered purchasing these boots. I wear an 8 and bought a 9 and I couldn't get past my toes in the boot. The design is horrible. The opening is hard and stiff. It looks like you should be able to slip your foot right in. Doesn't work that way.

The boots themselves fit fine but the opening is way too small. Took me 20 minutes to get them on with light socks. Once on they were great but I need the easy on, easy off feature. I do not have large feet and only wear a B width. I also ordered a 1/2 size larger like I do with all boots. No way can I get them on. Am returning them, so disappointed.

I was very excited about these boots. With icy winter weather in Iowa, I was looking for something that I could easily slip on. These are not the shoes for that. I found the opening hard to slide my foot through and uncomfortable once I got my foot into the boot. I have several pair of L. L. Bean boots and these did not fit their standard. I should have read the reviews before I ordered them. I returned them.

I wanted an item to put on/take off easily. These do not fit the bill. Even being seated these are a big hassle to get on and off, the top of the shoe is way too tight/narrow. They will be returned.

I like the look of this shoe and I need a shoe to manage snow and ice, but I could not even get my foot into the narrow 'neck' of the shoe. So, I have no idea if the shoe itself is wide or long. The only aspect that I can comment on is the fact that I could not get my 'C' width foot into the shoe. Regrettably, I had to send it back. I suppose the shoe could work if you have a foot narrow enough to slide into the hole that, I imagine, would surround the ankle .

I've purchased a number of products from the store over the years and was very excited when I ordered these boots. I ordered a size 8 expecting them to be loose enough for heavy socks. Not only were they not too wide as described by others, but they were too small in length. Size 8 is usually very loose on me. Also, as one person indicated these boots do not slip on easily. The collar of the boot rubs the top of my ankles. Such a shame. I will be returning them.
