Wonderful! I wear these heavy duty slip ons everyday walking my dog. I wear shoes that are size 6. Had to reorder to size 7.

A terrific winter slip-on boot. Surprisingly cushy, supportive foot bed. Warm, and very no-slip on slippery surfaces. Takes a bit of a wiggle to get into them (a shoe horn would remedy that), but really not an issue. All in all a great shoe, but 4 stars because the sizing is very inconsistent. I tried on 3 shoes in the same size, same color (brown) before I found the one that fit. The same size in black was completely off, no matter how much I sized up. Doable if you can be there in person to try them all on, a problem if you are mail ordering.

I had a brown pair of these for years and loved them. Great for walking the dog. Ordered a black pair - still love the fit and durability. Just wish they were easier to get on. I'm a size 7 and these were a real struggle to get on especially the left foot. Too little give to even stretch the opening.

These boots let you cross slick surfaces with greater confidence. However, they don't always work so well that they make it impossible to slip. According to the manufacturer, they're designed to be used on wet ice, not dry. They work best when the sun is out, because the surface of icy pavement becomes a little wet when sunlight strikes it, no matter how cold the weather may be. The cuff is tight on me, although the rest of the boot fit well after I sized up a half size. Next winter, I'll choose this same kind of boot, but in a different style, so that they won't have a cuff that, after a long walk, hurts one ankle.

These are like the original storm chasers I bought years ago only beefier. Has the same nice roll when I walk and more supportive than the plain storm chasers which has uncomfortable flat bottoms. I work outside in all weather and need a boot made for lots of walking, thick sole and ankle protection like these.

My size is normally 7.5 and sometimes an 8. Initially I bought a size 8 because I figured I'd be wearing thicker socks with it. But even with a thicker sock, the boot was way too loose. There was major heel slippage. So, then I got my normal size 7.5 and that fit better, but there was still a little heel slipping and my toes at times rub the front of the boot. I put in a gel heel insert and that solved the problem of my heels slipping up. These are extremely hard to put on. I ended up buying a shoe horn, and that made all the difference. Using a shoe horn, I can now slip into the boots a lot easier. With that said, these are comfortable and they were a good purchase. I do think the design needs to be reworked a bit so that they're not so hard to get on, and so that they fit better so that your toes don't hit the front of the boot and your heels don't slip around when walking.

Once you get it on it is comfortable and warm. Good fit but need to pull it on hard or use a shoe horn. Does keep the snow out

Nice shoe and grip very well. I can step off of the sidewalk and play with my dog in a little snow and stay nice and dry and not worry about slipping. They are a tiny bit wide for my feet, but not so much that I feel like they will fall off or that I will twist my foot in them. I guess room enough for a very thick sock. I would recommend them.

Love the warmth, sturdiness, and feel. I've worn them for just a short time and worry that the ankle will stretch and not support my whole foot in the future, thus, 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise this purchase was long overdue --- I love them!

Although they fit true to size - I have a high arch that makes them a little tough to get into - they definitely are not a shoe you can slide into. But they are exactly what I need for wet winters in the mountains.

Had to exchange for next size up. The exchange was easy and the size 8 work fine. With snow on the way I will feel very comfortable in them

These are fine - good quality and as described. Just a little small though for "slipping on" - I can't slip them on, instead having to sit down and tug them on. They feel fine once they're on.

Good boot & waterproof which is very important. Traction isn't that great! I live in Michigan and walk my dog 7 days a week no matter the weather. I usually wear Sorrels with yak tracks made for runners that Velcro over my boot. They wear out after our winter season is over if not before. I thought these boot might be my answer because I fall every year. Yes I have fallen with these on! So I give them a 3.5 out of 5.

Secure footholds for our daily walks in the dog park on packed snow and sometimes ice. The soles are very stiff, and walking would be more comfortable if they were more flexible. Also, I still have to use a shoehorn to get them on; it's the price to pay for a small opening with no laces, but it's no slip-on. The uppers are high enough to keep out 4-5 inches of new snow. My feet stay warm, even in below-zero wind chills. So, really functional, could be more comfortable.

I've waited to review these because I wanted to give them a good tryout. Overall I'm very happy with them. As other reviewers have said, they are a bit snug when first putting on .... I considered sending them back for a larger size, but the collar does stretch with wear. They are EXTREMELY comfortable and have great arch support. I bought my normal shoe size and almost want to suggest buying a 1/2 size larger - if you want to wear a heavier sock. I wear them with a medium weight sock and they fit fine. The "artic grip" feature isn't as grippy as I had hoped (I actually fell the first time I wore them!) but it definitely helps and is a lot better than regular boots in slippery conditions. Overall I give them A Two Thumbs Up!

I really love my 10-year-old Sherpa lined slip-on Bean Boots, but the older I get, the more worried I am about slipping on ice. The traditional Bean Boot soles are not great in slippery situations, and I am being polite! I would have given these 5 stars if these had a slightly bigger opening and Sherpa lining. The slip-in opening could be a half inch bigger, but people can use a shoe horn the first year, because the tightness keeps slush splatter out. They are probably warm enough for running around town, in and out of the car. I will wear them with my thickest ski socks and foot warmers when it's really cold. They also have quite a curved bottom, but I assume that is part of their engineering to resist slipping, so I can get used to it.

It had snowed a bit the night my shoes arrived, so I got to test out the Arctic Grip right away: I am a fan! I will still be cautious this winter, but these do give a new level of confidence on wet environments and ice. That said, the other reviewers are correct: The opening to get your foot in is super small and unforgiving. I worked on the shoes for over 1/2 an hour each to stretch them enough that I could force/ram my feet in. Even with a slim sock, they were stiff and tight at the ankle and I was aware with every step of the tightness. I have relatively small feet and purchased a half-size up based on previous LLBean boot purchases and the reviews on this shoe. The fit is fine except at the opening, and will take LOTS of wear to break these in. Is it worth it? I think so. TL;DR Soften and widen the opening and this would be the perfect boot for ice.

These are fairly lightweight and warm but as several others said they are very difficult to get on and need to be worn with a thin pair of socks. I had to purchase a shoehorn and need to use it every time to get them on.

I ordered up a half size to allow for heavy socks, and they fit very well. I saw that some didn't like the snug fit of the ankle, but I really like that feature, as it helps keep the snow out.The liner also molds to your foot during break-in. They really grip well on slippery packed snow & ice. Expensive, but I wear them every day, so well worth it if they last.

I ordered size 11 on the advice of an LLBean rep. I was walking out of them. Sent back for size 10. They are small but hope they will stretch. A 10 1/2 would have been perfect - NOT available - boots are ok. heavy and clumsy and I have tripped a few times. but better than regular boots. Hoping to get used to them.

I purchased the storm chaser slip on shoes as we've had a very hard and icy winter on the East Coast. One of my big fears is falling on all this ice. I'm much more secure in these boots with their deep grooved soles. I normally get a size 9 but the graphite color which I really wanted was out in that size so I tried an 8 1/2 and it fits perfect! So perhaps they fit a little large? Whilst initially difficult to get my foot into the shoes (they needed to stretch a bit at the entry point from wearing) the shoe itself is quite comfortable in which to walk. Now that I've had them for a few weeks and have worn them in the city and on hikes in the woods they are easier to get in and out of. I'm very happy with them.
