I liked the construction of the shoe but it was too small

Beware these shoes are a full 2 sizes too small. I wear a size 10 so I ordered that size. Too small so I ordered a size 11, too small and after paying $13.00 in return shipping charges, I'm done. Very disappointed to be charged for return exchange for larger size. Even though I like LL Bean quality, I'll be shopping elsewhere due to exchange costs.

I bought a pair of these for my husband for Christmas. He drives special needs children to school. These shoes would have been perfect , but, they are very difficult to put on . The top edge is very Ridged and are not suitable for older people to get on and off !

I have shoes that are 11.5, 12, and 12.5 that all fit about the same so there is obviously much variance in shoe/boot manufacturing. That said, I purchased these intending them as a gift for my elderly father-in-law who (also wears a 12) and tried them when they arrived only to find I could barely get my foot in the opening and once I did my toes were very crammed. Very uncomfortable and certainly no way to wear with a thick sock. Returned immediately. They appeared well made and the traction sole would've been a plus for him on Minnesota ice.

Ordered these as a gift / they looked perfect/ I had read the reviews about them being too narrow so I ordered 1 size up /. Too bad/ still too tight and sadly they had to be returned

The shoes fit fine, and seem to be well made. They did not keep me from falling the third time I wore them. I made the mistake of coming in the front of the house after my accident, and damaged my hardwood floors. I knew the disclaimer, but wasn't thinking.

I ordered size 11 in the brown, which is my size, and had to return them for 11 1/2. Brown in 11 1/2 was on backorder until April, when I'd be putting them in the closet until next fall, so I had to settle for black. Got those, they fit fine, but the rear pull-on loop snapped off the first time I used it. So, back to the store for another pair of the black. This time, the pull-on loop lasted a month before it snapped off. My plan is to bring them back for repair after I'm done with them for the season, and request they get sewed on solid. Other than this problem they are comfortable and convenient even in the snow. Improve your quality control!!!!

My arthritic 75 year old finger managed to tear out the loop on the right heel of one boot while putting it on. I bought a 24 inch shoehorn, which solved the problem. The reason for not returning the boots is that I really like the "Arctic Grip" soles, and need them NOW. My present state of decrepitude necessitates having shoes and boots without laces. To sum it up, I'd like to see the front loop eliminated. Then attach a larger rear loop SECURELY. I like everything else about the boots, especially the "Arctic Grip" feature.

I have had a pair of Thinsulate Black Suede (pseudo suede) winter shoes I purchased from LLB probably over 10 years ago. BEST shoes I have ever owned as they were stylish, warm, waterproof, durable, easy to slip on and off. I wish they would bring them back! You can imagine they are worn so I bought the storm chasers a month ago figuring they would have the same effect as they have a similar style to my previous pair being a slip on shoe. The storm chasers are comfortable, waterproof and stylish. They are not warm however, my feet freeze and I typically don't have that problem. I have tried different types of socks and still the same outcome, my feet get cold even inside. I don't know if the material on the inside of these shoes don't let my feet breathe or what. There is something to say about Thinsulate material. I am contemplating using the guarantee (which I'd prefer not to) and sending them back but want to give them a chance.

I received these shoes within the last month. Like all LL Bean shoes, they are well made. They fit well. They are warm. I wear them anytime there is snow or ice underfoot. The Artic Grip "technology" is, candidly, just a gimmick. The grip does not provide any more traction on ice than any other LL Bean boot. We recently had an ice storm here in Massachusetts. I wore these boots while walking my dog and running errands. These DID NOT provide any increased traction on ice - particularly wet ice. The traction is good in snow. If you want to be certain of your footing in icy conditions, you should get a set of Yak Trax or Nano-Spikes. I am only giving these a two-star rating because the Artic Grip doesn't grip on ice.

My father gifted me a pair that started leaking. He passed sway and I returned them on his account. They did not give me credit after they reported they would. The quality of these has gone down dramatically and I wouldn't recommend the customer service either.

Really! I was sent a pair of boots that were for the right foot only. The left boot was not sent. One size was the size I ordered which was 11.5, and the other "right" foot boot was a size 14.

Very uncomfortable - perhaps the sales associate should have offered this shoe in wide? Initially seemed ok - no slipping.

Poor fit with little side support for arches. Sizing seems pretty accurate.

The shoe was larger than sized. The shoe opening is too big and the heels slide out. The shoe is also curved up at the toes which feels unstable when walking. I really like the look of the shoe but feel it is poorly designed in terms of fit and stability. Very dissapointed compared to previous shoes from years ago.

This is the second winter tor these boots. I purchased them because I had fallen on a patch of dark ice while walking the dog breaking a rib. The idea of "Arctic Grip" soles sounded great. The boots are manufactured in Asia and are not well made. The loop on the heel of the right boot pulled out last winter requiring a repair. This winter I noticed that the grip from the "hard" resin chips has disappeared and there is no coarse sandpaper feel where the chips are placed and while walking tonight there was some dark ice on my driveway and the "Arctic Grip" was absent. This product needs to be replaced every year. At $150 per pair this is an expensive nondurable product. I have purchased L.L. Bean products for 45 years starting when I lived in New Hampshire. With the last few purchases I have noticed the quality and durability has deteriorated. I hesitate to purchase any thing not made in Maine.

1) terrible bunion pain after wearing for a few days, these shoes are way too stiff and tight, much tighter and stiffer than the shoe it replaced 2) 'arctic grip' soles have embedded flecks of stuff that scratches floors- DO NOT BUY

I ordered a twelve and a thirteen and both felt too narrow in the toe box. I have a pair of twelves that fit perfect. I am disappointed with the fit as I love the shoe and would like a black pair.
