Customer Reviews New Balance 840v5

Bought to use as an everyday walking shoe. Ordered 8 double wide my usual size in 847V3 that I have been wearing for so many years. This 840v5 was too tight, the tongue was too long and the shoelaces were too short. Please bring back the 847V3.

Six months ago I underwent a four-hour foot surgery to help correct the damage sustained due to having polio as a child. After healing and starting to walk again (months on a knee cart!) I soon realized that my New Balance shoes were the only ones in my closet that were comfortable enough for my "new" foot. I no longer need to wear a brace tucked into my shoe - YEAH! - but my New Balance shoes are STILL the best shoe for me. I am gradually building back up to my pre-surgery levels of walking two miles or more each morning, and my New Balance shoes are with me every step. Can't thank you enough for making such a wonderful product. I do miss some of the older models I have purchased in the past but I am experimenting with new models. I have worn New Balance for years and have no intention of changing now.

I have moderate pronation in both feet. I have purchased this series for several years. They are true to size. wear 5 1/2 and find it difficult to find footwear in my size. Very comfortable and don't need breaking in.

I'm on my feet most of the day and these shoes are so comfortable and they provide support.

This is my 4th pair of this shoe. I love them so much. They are so comfortable and provide great support.

I only wear New Balance, this is the first time I've ever had to send them back. I tried so hard not too but it just hurt my foot too bad. The stitching on the left shoe I believe was stitched too tight. When I walked it pressed down on my foot causing me a great deal of pain. I also don't think the 840 v5 are as comfortable and cushioned as the 840 4. So sad about this.

I am on my feet at work for 10-12 hours a day and these help so much with feet pain after work! They don't squeak and they have great support for my over ponated feet. Definitely recommend. I got the blue color and I get so many compliments on them too

Runs big ,not enough padding. Not worth the price.

Not at all as comfortable as previous NB purchases. Very stiff. Just not at all Pleased and sadly wore them thinking they would soften with wear. Now they sit in my closet.

I have tried Orthofeet and one other brand, but the only shoes that work for my feet are New Balance. I am very happy with my purchase and will continue to be a customer. Online ordering from the NB website was a breeze too.

I use this shoe for walking. My feet are old and abused and the 840 is comfortable and shock absorbing.

Been wearing NB shoes for decades, but my fav shoe went awol. Have tried many new styles without the same level of comfort. Finally a nice comfortable wide shoe with this purchase. Price makes me uncomfortable but no choice. This is my new shoe.

I love to fast walk and these shoes are awesome. I have struggled with Plantar Fasciitis in the past and not an issue with these shoes. They support my foot and have bee wonderful. Going to by a second pair so I can rotate them.

I love these shoes. Very comfortable and look good. I have 2 pair.
