I started with the Paradigm 2 years ago and haven't used any other running shoes since. But each version gets a little worse. They are getting narrower and less comfortable. Also, I had to go a half size down with my latest pair. My Paradigm 5s were an 8.5, but with the 6 version I had to return the 8.5 for an 8. They are still better than other running shoes, (I tried to go back to Asicsunsuccessfully) but I'm just disappointed that the "improvements" are going in the wrong direction.

Had to return these in a 10.5 because they were huge! Now, have just received a pair in 10 and they are too narrow in toe area and a little short. The half size difference the two just does not make sense.

This is my first pair of Altras after my knee replacement. I'm wearing good cushiony socks with them and they fit nicely. I'm unable to wear my podiatrist-prescribed orthotics with them, they are too snug with them, so I'm doing fine w/o the orthotics and love these shoes. It's my second Paradigm shoe. I'm 72 yo and I won't say my walking is pain-free, but these shoes help me to do my best.

Love Altras - I migrated to these things they have changed the tongue of the Torins. I will say that I definitely like the Torin's more, they don't feel as bulky, not seeing the added value for higher price point. Overall, happy with them so far. I did go up 1/2 size from my usual Altra size based on reviews

As suggested by others, I bought 1/2 size big and they fit perfect. Not the best looking shoe, but quite comfortable after some adjustment. I had to add some forefoot padding and some arch support for my high arches.

I use the shoe for general fitness activities. Love the shoe brand and have purchased several pairs over the past 10 years. I like the hiking shoe options as well. I do have to share that the quality and longevity the shoes has decreased though.

The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn on these fussy feet and perhaps the clunkiest . These are made perfectly to the shape of the forefoot- following the curve of the toes , not scrunching them together into a pointy toe. But I have to admit - I felt like duck feet- they have the similar to Hokas, the styling is not too attractive at all and I really had to decide over several days if I could go out in public/ gym in them. My feet are so happy, cushy , and no other has done that. Toes happy too. It’s like walking on a cloud, or on a memory foam mattress. If you reach inside and press down - it feels just like memory foam - great support though all around. So I think I’m going to suck it up and let my feet feel good finally without inflamed toes at the end of the day and keep these. I got the black and orange ( only black choice ). The orange is bothersome to me, but whatever. Saw the dark blue ones in person and didn’t like. These are wide enough with great toe box space and comfort, heel, tongue no problem. Check out their website to see the description of how they made the 3 shapes of shoes. I may not want to put them on the 1st time out, but I know I won’t want to take them off. So I’ll do it.

Love the fit, love the support. My only complaint about the shoe is the sole is starting to peel apart after 3 months. I only walk in these shoes about 4 days a week for 3 miles. Mix between hard floors and pavement. Disappointed I will need to glue the shoe to prevent it from peeling further.

Love these shoes because of the 0 drop. Really helps my achilles and plantar faciatis. Just wish they had built in arch support like Obiz or Vionic. I had to get the Currex mid profile orthotic to go in them but all together so comfortable. Plenty of room for toes, 0 drop heel and good cushion.

I wasn't crazy about the neutral color choices on the 6. The 5s I thought were perfect! So comfortable, minus being a little heavy. These ones are great as well, but my toes seem to rub against the front of the shoes, which causes toenail pain. I mainly have to use them for tread work or short outdoor runs, and make sure my toenails are trimmed super short. Otherwise, they still have a great cushioning the Paradigm is known for.

I'm a daily runner & bought these due to having bunions on both feet. I purchased the Olympus trail running sneaker & absolutely love them. Did a quick trail run/hike & no bunion pain. I figured I'd give these a try for my longer runs. The toe box is roomy. The tongue slips, make sure you tie the laces pretty tight. The heel as well. They need to come up with a better design for the heel. I did get a blister. If Altra could make the Olympus into a running sneaker, with a more suction heel cup, they'd have a best seller for sure. All in all, I do like the is sneaker, a bit of tweaking to the heel cup & tongue, a tad bit more cushion under the forefoot for the paradigm & we have gold.

I have tried many running shoes over the years, including a variety of Altras and these are my absolute favorite. I just wish Altra would make more neutral color ways. Would love a solid white shoe or even grey.

I loved the previous model. This one feels very rigid and stiff. My cadence decreased and ground contact time increased. And I developed plantar fascia pain after the first few runs. Maybe they require a greater break-in time? The last model was perfect. Not sure I'll buy these again. I still highly recommend altras, but not sure I'll recommend this paradigm.

These shoes were technically big enough, but when I walked in them, it felt like my toes were hitting the shoe. I decided that the wider toe box was probably the culprit, letting my toes move more than normal, and thus hitting the top of the shoe when I walked. I didn’t find them comfortable due to that.
Cute, but I’m afraid they are being returned.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Paradigm after running three times in them. I am a huge fan of the Torin 4s and the Lone Peaks but needed to replace my Torins and the reviews for the latest iteration are poor. I haven't noticed much difference bw the Torins and the Paradigm except to say that my pace has been slower in the Paradigm. It doesn't feel like there's much energy return to lift the foot/leg. It could just be winter, cold, unrelated fatigue, and I'm hopeful these will work until Altra fixes the Torins! I usually size up a half size for running shoes, and these are consistent with all the other Altras I own. I use an insert so can't speak to the arch support. It's usually not great in Altras, IMO.

Lots of toe room and support make this sneaker work for me as an over-pronator with narrow heels and neuromas. I need a wide toe box with a well-fitted heel, and this sneaker delivers on that. I am a size 6 1/2 and normally wear a 7 sneaker to accommodate my orthotics. The 7's are too short, as many of the other reviews have stated. I had to go up to 7 1/2 which is a first! The 7 1/2 is a little too long, but better than being too short. I use these sneakers for exercising and will soon try them outside for walking. The arch support with my orthotic seems to be excellent!

I like the fit. It's comfortable but I have a blister on my left great toe after the first time I wore them. I had the prior model and loved them. I never wore blisters on my toes with them. I also miss the loop on the back of the shoe.

I put these on and initially thought they were amazing. The cushion in unlike any I've felt- even Hoka. But unfortunately, even though they have that awesome, more natural toe box, my foot needed wider. I had to return. Wish they came in wide, I would have bought 10 pair. It was just a tad too narrow.

So the laces are definitely too short. I do love the comfort of this shoe but there's something about the stiffness or cushioning or something that has contributed to me rolling/spraining my ankles almost weekly when I never had before.

Great shoe. My only regret is that this newer Paradigm does not have the loop on the hell of the shoe which was present on the previous version.

My foot surgeon recommended Paradigm for transitioning out of the postop shoe.
They do feel nice, but I am only now walking around, and will never be running! Maybe a trot.
Anyway, review:
My feet are just under 25 cm, are ordinary width with narrow heels, usually an 8 fits ok. The heels tend to slip with lace up shoes, so I need to use the extra hole at the top, bring the ends thru the loop and then tie.
My left foot is still swollen, but on the right these slip off my heel a lot, and the laces are too short to use the hole that is there for that purpose - right? Maybe runners have different lacing techniques, IDK.
I think the shoes should come with two pairs of laces.
I wear an 8 in another brand my dr also recommends, and the Altra rep suggested that meant an 8 should also work for me in the Paradigm.
For these Paradigm 6 I needed a 9.5. That was a surprise, so yeah, size up.
Standing, my toe nail edge hits at the inside band of the curved stripe, if that is useful info. The length seems ok, but only with thin socks.
I'm going to say I would recommend these, but that will come with my friend and I having a chat.
I'm W,

I had to order a half size up from my normal running shoe size. Overall it’s pretty comfortable. I need to wear them in around the Achilles’ tendon. The cushioning overall is better than my Brooks Aurora-BL shoes especially on the balls of my feet. They aren’t as cushioning as the Hoka Clifton 6. I had a lot of blisters from the Hokas on my heels though.

I have several different models of Altra shoes. These are about the best in comfort. I like the bigger toe box
which is an important feature for me being that most of my foot discomfort is in the forefoot.
However, the shoe laces are too short. They might be fine for the average person but if like me you need to loosen the laces all the way down toward the toe then they are barely long enough to tie. Other Alta models I have tried also have this problem.
