I've been wearing this shoe for work on my feet all day and walks in town with the dog. The suede upper is warmer than the regular Lone Peaks, but that's fine since I'm not running in them. They also have a wider more relaxed fit that might be an issue for running, but is very comfortable walking around. For someone with an average width foot, these might be a little loose feeling on you, but my wide feet are very happy.

I love these shoes. I love the wide toebox. I find these shoes very comfortable. I was able to wear them all day with no issues. They are casual, but can be used anytime you would want to use a walking shoe, tennis shoe or hiking shoe....although I don't do serious adventure seeking on any of my activities. I'm active, but not crazy active. This is the first time I tried this brand, but I will be checking them out again for future purchases.

Soooo comfortable and supportive!! Altar shoes give my feet freedom and have broken me out of the toe prison that my other shoes tortured me with. I find my feet are more stable with these shoes!

I just bought the Alpine for the first time, and LOVE it: the extra-wide fit lets my feet and toes spread out, the zero drop feels comfortable and it has (for me) just the right amount of support.

Haven't used these shoes for trail hiking yet but I've walked the dog and they felt good right away. No break-in time needed!

This is by far the best shoe I have ever worn! I have issues with my feet being wide and a really high instep. I measure a 6 but always have to wear a 7.5 or 8 even in a wide width shoe. I am able to wear a 6.5 in these shoes and my feet feel so darn good!!! I just keep hoping and praying they start making sandals and boots with this footbed!!! I also have a large difference in the length of my legs and am able to remove the footbed and add a insert lift under it which makes it like heaven for walking compared to most shoes!

This is the most awesome shoe I have ever purchased. I always bought new balance wide trail shoes. Still had to cut out the right side of the shoe for my little toe because of a botched bunionectomy. plus i have a bunion on my left foot ! this shoe fits perfect and i dont have to cut it. Love it !!!!

At the moment I put on my first LP Apine - I said AH. Before I even stood on it! These are terrific shoes - finally, my toes can move! Very fast shipping and I am happy, happy, happy!

I have worn zeros for many years but these are COMFORTABLE zeros!!! Recommended by my physical therapist. Considered exchanging them for a half size smaller but I'm pretty happy with my purchase.

The shoes are sturdy but nice looking. Walking in them is like walking on a cloud! Springy step, nice size toe box and good arch support. Finally a shoe a can live and work in!

I came out to the Altra site to see if any Torins were left. No luck on those, but I stumbled upon these. If I had realized the LP stands for Lone Peak, I may not have ordered them. I tried Lone Peaks, but ended up returning them. (I can't remember whymaybe uncomfortable to me on the outside edge of my foot.) So I'm really glad I didn't make the connection. As another reviewer showed in a photo, these have a much fuller toe box than the Lone Peaks, and I love them. I've only worn them around the house for a couple days, but they're really, really comfortable. I should mention that my feet, especially the left, have all kinds of issuesfat pad atrophy, plantar fasciitis, and Morton's neuroma...and still these are comfy! Definitely recommend!

This is such a comfortable shoe! I've never had a shoe where my toes feel free and my foot isn't confined in any area yet still supported . The design of the shoe is helping heal my feet from years of too tight of shoes.

I purchased my Alpines from a local trail outfitter. I'd gone in to get a pair of Lone Peaks, but they were out of my size. The owner offered to bring out the new shoe they'd just gotten in. I really liked the look of the Alpine, as I'm not a sneaker wearer generally. But when I put them on--heaven. Earlier that week, I'd hiked longer than usual in my minimalist shoes and my feet HURT. I was worried that I'd really injured something or that I'd just gotten too old and I was going to have to start wearing the arch support-y shoes the podiatrist had tried to push on me when I had a bout of PF (cured by strengthing my feet, not by wearing supportive shoes). But two days in the Altra Alpines, and the pain was gone. I'm not sure I ever want to wear another shoe, so I may need the other color...

Bought my first pair last November for urban sneakers for Spain & loved!! First time in years I've worn my size - 6.5, not 8 or 8.5 as I'd been wearing to accommodate high arches & insteps, & hallux limitus. So much toe room!!! With my feet, impossible to wear Converse/urban style sneakers. Very happy, and cute & comfy except for one day when I walked 18K steps and my feet felt every cobble through these by the end, and had totally tightened up. But, there are THREE BUTS. 1. A huge slash appeared in the suede in July after 8 months wear, for no reason I can tell!! That's bad for shoes that cost this much. I needed shoes for Europe again so had to pay express shipping to replace bc of this rip. 2. The sand color is impossible to keep clean. Here am taking a chance on the new green, hoping they last and hide dirt better (it's a gorgeous color, I love it). 3. This was one of two new pairs I ordered (sz 6.5); the green were a bit tighter than the first pair, and the sand were too tight and had to go back! Shoe sizing should be consistent for this price. FYI women with arthritis big toe issues: I ordered a bunch of other shoes Altra recommended this summer and all had to go back bc of fit - so I wish they were keeping with the amazing wide toe box original model that seems to be why everyone loved them in the first place. Right now these Alpines are the only Altras I can wear. Very thankful for them and hoping they last!

I'll start off by saying I really love these shoes! They are super cute, but the soles are burly ! The first day out I took them on a 3000ft climb on a 10 mile hike and no problems ! They do seem a 1/2 size too big . I was constantly tightening the laces, but overall they were great . I love the look! FYI the green is more like a Grey or tan. But I would buy them again

These shoes are comfortable but somewhat "floppy" on my feet, and I have huge bunions! These shoes don't feel like they will wear well. Lots of stretching out. The heel is very wide.
We'll see as they wear, I am hopeful but not optimistic.

These are comfortable as soon as you put them on. No breaking time needed. The hemp material remaids me of burlap and easily gets dirty. Made in a different material would make these a five.

First shoe that allows my entire foot to ride without pinching. They aren't the "prettiest", I'll take the great fit anytime. I've worn them for everyday walking as well as desert hiking.

Just got my first pair of Altra's after my boyfriend wouldn't stop talking about how amazing they were & I have absolutely no regrets, they are amazing shoes and I now see what all of his hype was about. They have been amazing to walk in, and I feel like these are going to be amazing shoes to hike in once I have that chance. Buuut my one and only complaint is that I wish they made them more aesthetically pleasing. I want to buy multiple more pairs for running and working out, but all of the styles I've seen so far are just so dang ugly I can't imagine wanting to wear them. I bought this pair (in the Sand color - and they are beautiful!!) solely because of the look, and it's one of the few all-neutral shoes that they have. I really would love to see you guys make some more aesthetically pleasing shoes, in more neutral and/or muted colors, without any of the gauty color additions. I will have a shoe for every occasion from Altra if they're just *slightly* cuter. Please. :)

I love how this has no toe drop, so I am walking with my natural stance/gate, and at the same time still have support and cushion unlike some "barefoot" shoes. This will be great for my trip to Switzerland since I will be hiking a lot and was worried about hip/knee pain. Hopefully these shoes will prevent that.
I do not like how there is a lace hole further back toward the ankle that is not functional. That lace hole is like a decoration but needs to be functional for a more secure fit.
These do run large. I am curious what a size 8 would fit like. I feel like 8.5 is too big, but I've passed my return period I believe.
