I was excited to find a cross trainer with a wide toe box that wasn't also a bare foot shoe. Unfortunately, the midfoot is far too narrow and isn't enough volume in the shoe for anyone with any sort of arch. The laces were as short as reported in other reviews, which seems to be an easy fix.

I've only worn my solstice workout shoes 4 times and they are ripping at the top of toe area.

These shoes were recommended to me and I was looking forward to wearing them. When they arrived, I noticed the poorly stitched/glued areas on the sides. I have only worn them intermittently over 10 days and edge at the front is already coming apart! Very disappointed with the quality as these shoes are comfortable. I will be returning them as this happened within the 30-day trial window. I am hesitant to order another pair now!

These shoes are no longer wide. They are too tight at the toe box. Will stop buying your shoes and looking for a real wide toe shoe.

These are the worst shows I've ever tried. They wore out extremely fast getting big holes in the heels and on the outer sides. Not at all worth the money, do not buy these very disappointing.

I run exclusively in Altra Riveras, and have for many years. This was my first time purchasing the Soltice as I needed a cross trainer. The upper started pulling away from the sole after only 10 uses.

Was excited to try this model for gym training, but the width is much too narrow. I've been an Altra fan because they're one of the few companies that offer wide-toe-box fit, but the current offerings from Altra with original fit are few. Bring back more original fit designs! That's how this brand stood out from the rest!

These shoes were great once I first purchased them, but over 4 months the fit seems to have fallen apart. That is much too short of a time to invest in trainers that you hardly put any miles on. I wouldn't purchase these again, which is unfortunate because I purchase separate running shoes and training shoes on a regular basis.

This product feels great on my feet, but it's made HORRIBLY. I do not wear them outside, I use them in my basement home gym. I've only gotten 2 months out of them at this point (low impact exercise, biking) and they're detaching from the sole around the toe area already. Also, the design on the side of the shoe peels off and is already detaching as well. That's just from walking briefly, and getting on/off my BikeErg. RIDICULOUS. Should not happen at this price point.

I was all over the place in these - couldn't trust my feet! Though true to size, the toe box felt way too wide and flexible, even with orthotic inserts. Disappointed - not the shoes for me.

They admitted to connect parts of the shoe with glue and there was glue on the toes of my shoes. Looked trashy.

Toe box is much to narrow and doesn't reflect the fit of my other Altra's. Wish there was at least a Wide option.

I was waiting and waiting for the training sneakers to be available again and it is such a bummer that the fit was changed. Hate the cap on the toe, so unnecessary. My favorite thing about these was how they fit in the toe and this is just not the same. They're narrower and more restrictive. So frustrating as I'm a fitness instructor and have worn my old pair out since I wear them constantly. I'll keep these because I need something to coach in but I'm not thrilled about it. Please please please bring the old fit back or at the very least just get rid of the extra layer on the toe.

The XT2 has a uncomfortable, narrow, stiff toe box. I love the original Solstice XT. The extra material in the toes box is awkward. Please bring back the original version.

Why why why why why would you add a weird rubber cover over the big toe?? Ruins the whole shoe. I've been wearing the older version so much the soles have worn out. I keep buying new altra shoes to replace them but there always seems to be one or two things they changed and not for the better. I'm so sad.

The design of this newer version makes the toe box way too narrow. I can't wear them unfortunately. Please bring back the older toe box version!

I have owned and loved previous versions of this shoe. I use altra shoes for running hiking and lifting and have always worn a 6.5. The 6.5 in the shoe was too tight. I think it's the additional upper layer they add around the toe. The 7 were too large. Very disappointed that I can't wear this shoe to work out in.
