Incredibly comfortable

I liked the 4.5 cushioning more than these. The 5 at the ball of the foot is like a worn down 4.5 to me. The new 5 tongue is annoying, but with longer socks it's manageable. I like v5, but loved 4.5.

First the tongue - a non issue for me, I always wear over the ankle or just to the bottom of my calf socks. It is less soft and flexible than my Paradigm 6, those have a soft terry cloth like fabric that rests against the ankle. But thick enough to be comfortable. I'm docking half a star because it could be an issue for runners that use no-show or very low socks. Unique fabric and appearance. Really good looking in the black. Fit is perfect, matches all my other shoes. 11.5 in Keens, Hokas, and Altras. Less stack height than Paradigm so you're slightly closer to the ground. Altra is one of the few shoes I don't need in a wide size. I'm not a runner but I walk a lot and these are excellent in every way for that. Going back to the look and fabric again - 2 thumbs up!! Purchased direct from Altra, came with a pre-printed return shipping label but I'll be keeping these babies.

I have the Torin 5's and have the same complaint at everyone... the tongue is horrible. This tongue is light years better. BUT, I prefer the upper of the Torin 5, lighter and thinner. Combine the two!

I love how these make my feet free and at the same time I feel I could walk anywhere with these comfortable especially with the flynit material

I really loved this shoe, but it lasted way less than a year. I'm extremely easy on shoes and was quite disappointed at how they lasted. I don't think I'll buy this brand again, I keep reading this on the other reviews for their shoes as well.

These have become my everyday shoes. I have nerve damage in one foot and walking can be painful. These are the best shoes I've found so far to ameliorate that. Just wish the tongue were softer.

Please go back to the Original Torin 4.0! These shoes don't have enough toe space, the mesh upper allows your foot to slip around, and the ball of my foot kinda hangs off the side because the outsole isn't wide enough there. I do NOT recommend running in these, definitely just walking/standing. At LEAST you brought back the all black look and ditched the squishy sole of the Plush. People that buy Altra want an alternative to regular shoes, yet since you were bought out by another company years ago you've continued to stray more and more away from the original designs and more toward typical running shoes. Is a shoe with zero drop, a responsive sole, ample toe space, and not neon-clown colored too much to ask for anymore? Also, I'm a woman and your men's shoes are hardly wide enough for my foot (which is quite narrow actually). I have purchased at least 10 pairs of your shoes over the years (older models) and I took a chance buying a new model from you guys. Disappointed. Honestly frustrated. I used to rave about Altra to all my friends because your shoes WERE the best, but now I don't even recommend them to anyone. I miss the old Altra, and from all the reviews I've read, I'm definitely not the only one.

Tread started coming unlglued after wearing for one day in the office. Big Altra fan but these like many have said before have issues.

I bought these shoes a month ago. They are super comfortable but unfortunately they are starting to fall apart already. The tread on the bottom is peeling away in a few different places. I have worn them everyday since I bought them, so maybe that's why but it's a bit soon for this to happen in my opinion.

This is hands down the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. The foot shape fit makes it feel like you are wearing nothing. I feel like I have better posture when wearing them. The shoe is very light and just downright comfortable. My first pair was the dark gray. The problem is the tread on the bottom peels off in weeks after wearing. It's like the glue/adhesive that was used was faulty. I decided to buy a second pair hoping they have resolved the issue because this shoe is truly that comfortable. I have had them for about 1 month and they are beginning to peel the same way as well. Very disappointed. It's very unfortunate because this shoe is so comfortable. For the price you are paying, this should not happen (and I have bought two pair now in less than 6 months!).

I'll start with the good: the uppers - SUPER comfortable and seemingly high quality. they look great and have held up well for 3 months of daily use. These are my daily shoes i wear to the office and also on walks, so they get a fair bit of light use. They can get a little bit warm as venting is pretty minimal. Then there is the sole...and this is what really lets this shoe down. Parts of the sole are de-laminating on both shoes. that started after about 6 weeks of daily use. Long before the rubber tread started to wear down. The other issue with the sole is the noise! I have had shoes in that past that squeaked on hard surfaces, but these take it to a new level! pavement, tile, carpet....doesn't matter, these shoes make a LOT of noise. If Altra can figure out the quality issues with the soles, i would buy these again in a heartbeat. Until then, I will not buy another pair.

Best Altra I've worn and I've been wearing them for several years. PLEASE don't change anything but the color!

The shoes are really comfortable, but like other reviews, my soles started peeling (within a month of wearing the shoes). For the price, this shouldn't happen. It's a shame because the look and feel of the shoes is good

The reason I'm giving this shoe 2 stars is because I'm tired of buying your expensive shoes that end up with either the sole or toe kick peeling. This shoe is very comfortable but peeled after less than a month of light use. I also just finished thru hiking the Appalachian Trail(NOBO 2022) and went through 5 pairs of Altra Olympus. Every pair peeled (Thank God for Shoe Goo)within the first week(80-100 miles). If you could get this issue resolved you'd easily have one of the best shoes that have ever touched my feet.

Love the shoe but the sole is separating from the shoe after about 2 months of wear mostly indoors. very comfortable but wish it lasted

I love the way this shoe fits. It's my favorite pair. I've had terrible plantar fasciitis for several years and this is the most comfortable pair of shoes I've found in the hundreds of dollars I have spent searching for relief. Plus, the padded tongue on the Luxe doesn't rub my ankle the way the flat tongue does on other models. I was pretty disappointed when the tread started separating from the sole after just a month of light wear. I'm mostly inside and walking or standing so it hasn't been excessive wear and tear. I don't thing the adhesive should be failing within a matter of weeks, especially for the cost of the shoe. I hope this issue is remedied and I can happily purchase more Torin Luxe shoes!

let me start by saying I've purchased 3 pair of Altras for my 8. year old, and I have King MT 2's, Escalantes, 2x escalante racers, Superior 4, superior 5, Olympus 4, Rivera, Vanish tempo, Outroads, and I'm awaiting delivery on my Mont Blanc Boas. I've had almost all of the Altras and have tried on the rest. As an avid runner, and single track SoCal Mountain trail runner, I purchased this pair for casual use and not running. I haven't so much as worn these on a single run and yet the sole separated from the midsole. This is a troubling indication of poor quality since I haven't even run in them. Further raising my suspicions of quality control issues is everyone else mentioning the issue of the sole separating. Open and close case... The adhesive from the ego max and the rubber sole had an issue on these shoes. It's a shame, they look great and feel comfortable, hopefully they sort this out. I l don't make much money and apparently I spend a good chunk of it on my running sneakers. Watching an expensive pair of shoes I bought for looks, and to use as walking casual shoes, stings.

I've had almost every model of Torins. I run a lot and love them. But the 5 is not my favorite. I bought two pair. The tongue on both the 10s and 10.5 are so stiff they make my ankle bleed. It's sad because I loved the plush. Please bring it back and change the tongue. It's so bad I had to buy a pair of brooks ghosts to get my by . Unfortunately I'm stuck and can't return them because I bought them like 3 months ago and pulled them out when I needed them.

I purchased a pair of 4.5 plush's about 18 months ago for work. I'm on my feet 12-13 hours a night. They were great. Upgraded to the 5's and they are not even close in comfort. Not as pleased.

Comfy but I have worn them over past 15 months on and off - but recently the tread on the sole started to peel off - almost completely disintegrated now - if you contact CS very poor seems automated.

I think this model missed the boat for altra. The quality is not up to par in my opinion. The tread of the sole starting coming off within the first month. I have had over 10 pairs of altras and this is likely the worst pair. I'm hoping that this pair is just a fluke and I ended up with a bad pair. I wished I had noticed the lack of quality within the first 30 days.

I've now had 3 pairs of the Torino Luxe shoes and every one of them has the same quality issues. The right shoe splits by the pinky toe and the left shoes sole separates under that pinky toe. These shoes are lasting 6 months, if I'm lucky, before these issues show up. Considering they are meant to be worn daily and I wear them for work it looks bad when this haopes. I've worn Altra for a decade and they just are not the quality they used to be. I'll have to find a new brand that lasts.
