After just a few months light use, the laces at the rear frayed and then broke, making it impossible to tighten and secure the shoes. Too bad, because the shoes fit well and were comfortable for daily wear and seemed durable. No idea why the lacing would fray so easily.

Bought these for casual around-the-house wear and running errands and such. The design of the shoe leaves much to be desired. I sized down an entire size, and still find I can't get a snug fit after tightening the draw string. Shoes always feel loose, and once tight, there is a big loop of string dangling from the back of your feet. This is a bit of a safety concern. These shoes are definitely not up to snuff in terms of outdoor use on the trail or even just casual walking. Not recommended.

Liked the shoe, but, because of the high sides and back rubbed the ankles terribly.

I tried wearing these without socks - big mistake. The cuff around cut into the back of my ankle and rubbed the skin on completely in less than an hour. Super abrasive.

Kind of a funky shoe. Was a little loose in heal area which required me to cinch tight at the back of ankle. Seemed like it would be scratchy. I don't know what niche this shoe fills. I didn't feel secure enough in them to be a hiker. Cool looking but couldn't justify a shoe that didn't fill a purpose. Love my Merrell's but had to return these.

After cleaning them, the suede has faded looks old the first time. The black really faded.

It's a very stiff clunky shoe, I thought it would be more flexible, maybe it will break in after a while.

My gorgeous wife purchased a pair of these Merrell Multi colored Jungle Moc Explorer's for my birthday. Recieved them and wore them for the second half of the day. Sooo comfortable, and sized correctly also. Actually requested them to wear traveling, to, definitely be easier going through TSA/airports but still have the support I need on hard surfaces. This is my 4th pair of Merrell's. I have 2 pair of Moab 2 Mids, 1 in Boulder, 1 in Gold and a pair of Moab 2 Ventilators in Gold. All get frequent wear.

These run big, a least one size large, silly string in back to tighten, worst Merrill ever and not returnable. Ugh

Very uncomfortable. Usually merell are very comfy. But not this at all.

This is absolutely the worst Merrill I have ever purchased. The heels are actually painful and after one walk I have a scab on the back of my foot. Save your money.

The fit was horrible..I have a size 13 foot not a wide foot but a normal sized 13. The heel area was ridiculously huge!! The style and everything was good..the fit terrible!!!!

I hate them, laces suck. They hang off the back and drag, even had them get tangled. They dont tighten enough either. If the laces last 6 months, I'll be surprised. Sadly I gave them a chance and wore them, so cant be returned. Total crap. Ones pictured are NOT the ones I got, maybe mine were an earlier version.

Bought this because it looked good and comfortable. Followed the suggestion of getting one size smaller. Size fits well. The arch support was two inches out of place and the shoe rubbed the back of my ankles. Had to pay to return even though it the shoe that was designed poorly. Such a disappointment.

The one-star rating is mostly my responsibility. I received the shoes two days before I left on a trip south. I tried them on and wore them for about six hours. The fit was good and felt ok. When I arrived and prepared for a small hike, I wore the shoes. They almost destroyed my feet. Blister on each foot where the top back of the shoe meets my foot. Blister on the left foot front where the side if pad behind the big toe . Was very lucky to go into town and purchase another pair of shoes. By the time I again had access to a computer, the return time was up.

Poor design rubs the back of my ankle raw can't stop getting blisters.

A painful fit. The least comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Read the terms agreed to to submit a review. Bizarre. I know. I am a lawyer. Read it for yourself, it's in remarkable contrast to Merrells lifestyle commercials.

Not real happy with quality control. Extremely large. May stop using Merrill online if I can't count on consistently in the way they manufacture products

Disappointed in the quality of the materials. The shoe fits great and looks great but started to show wear in the heal pocket within a couple hours wearing them.
