Luck it rain the first day I received the shoes so the grass was wet so within a couple hours my foot felt wet so I took my shoe off and the tips of my socks were damp. Shoes are nice looking but not water proof.

***Before reading my review please know that I do not want to jump to conclusions or deter anyone from trying these shoes for themselves. Before I bought these shoes I had the Brooks Adrenaline 21 and they were amazing! So I decided to stick with the brand and see what the Ghost 14 was like. I bought them on Sunday (6 Feb 2022) and started running in them on the next day. At first they were great! Just what I expected, light weight, great traction on the road, everything. Then just yesterday I started to feel pain on the top of my left foot, right where the knuckle for my big toe is. I thought that maybe I had laced the shoe oddly or something so I didn?t think much of it. Then today, I didn?t even make it .5 miles into my run before I had to stop and attempt to adjust the shoe because of the pain. I barely finished 1 mile and took the left shoe off to walk home more comfortably. To be fair, I do wear custom orthotics for plantar fasciitis, so I?m not sure if that is part of the problem or not. I do not want to give up on these shoes, but if I can?t even make it a mile I will have to throw in the towel. This could also be a defect with the shoes I bought. Just wanted to share my experience.

I wanted these to work & perhaps it a defect of the version I received but I want to leave a review explaining my experience with these shoes. So, I've been running since I was a frosh in HS...now I'm 38. I am looking to run sub 2:30 in the marathon and sub 15 in a 5k. I've been teaching for over a decade and coaching XC & TF. So, running is a lot of what I do and have done for years. I live in Portland and the rain is unavoidable. I have a separate pair of shoes for trail for now. I also own the Ghost 14 non gtx for my dry days and those shoes have been great. I wanted to get the same version but "waterproof" for this coming winter. I bought these in October, when they finally had my size in stock again. I had not really run in them with coaching but had worn them at meets and they seemed to do great. Just this last week I realized they are not going to work. I've done three runs with them, all on the road/sidewalks and today's run I was particular to avoid as many puddles as possible. All my runs, at about 2.5 to 3mi in to the run I can feel my socks soaking up water. By 5 miles in I am squishing inside the shoe. I understand that the membrane is supposed to work, but these shoes can't go more than 3 miles before I start to feel it. There is no way I can continue using these shoes in the wet when I'm trying to hit 7, 8, 10+ miles to build to close to 60mpw. I'm just trying to pursue some goals and I really wanted these shoes to work but I've had to cut my runs short because of how soaked my feet have been. Perhaps these are a defect and nothing more. Dry feet are nice to have on those long runs. Bummed, Matt

Good looking, gore tex, pointed up way too much, too wide in the forefoot section causing the foot to be unstable. My feet are regular. I run marathons, mostly in Nikies.

Within the first 4 days (before I even ran in them) the front of the shoe started breaking away. I have continued to use them because they do fit well and feel comfortable but clearly the quality is lacking, the shoe should not be peeling off anywhere after owning for only a few days. It's disappointing because I have bought brooks before and they usually have such great shoes!

Next time I'll avoid the GTX. They fit a lot tighter at the laces. I got my old Ghost and my wife's Ghost out and compared them to my new Ghost GTX. I noticed that the tougue was attached to the side of the shoe and would not allow the shoe to open up thus causing a very tight fit at the laces.

I received my ghost 14 GTX and was unable to wear them. Not only does the size run small, but so does the width.

So 5 miles later and the writings are fading off. Not sure if there is more problems that is expected to happen but one wouldn't expect a brand new shoe to look old and faded after less than a week of wear. Reached out to IG account that did not respond even after they saw the post.

I wore my first pair of Ghost Gtx out by fitness walking and bought a 2nd. The fit is nowhere near as good, feels narrower and shorter. I'll have to remember lace them as my right knee is now bothering me.

I have wore all kinds of brooks. This shoe was so tight that I could not hardly get it on. Shoe needs to be wider and more tongue coverage. I would love to have a waterproof shoe like this but when it doesn't fit well it is impossible.

My left shoe feels like it has a bulge in the heel area that rubs my ankle the wrong way. Hoping they need to just break in and it isn?t defective.
