For years, I've been running in Saucony Ride and Brooks Ghost because I have a wide foot. I've tried on Hoka in the past but they were way too narrow. When I learned that Clifton came in a wide version, I gave them a try. OMG what an amazing shoe. Light and very well cushioned. Surprisingly, they're not as bulky as I expected. I doubt I'll ever go back to those other brands. FYI, the Speedgoat is the best trail shoe I've ever owned and it also comes in a wide version. It has a tough Vibram sole with great traction. The trails around Phoenix are very rocky and my Speedgoats handle them extremely well. I'm all-in with Hoka!!

I love these shoes. Great fit, light weight, decent cushioning. A very nice road shoe for running, jogging, walking. Not great for trails due to sole/traction.

I've had a hard time finding just the right balance of cushion, support, and...light-weightedness. These shoes are what I've been looking for!

Not many locations near me carry Hokas, and even fewer cseey wide sizes especially in larger sizes like mine (14). So every time I wanted to try a larger size and compare it to it's wide size I would have to order it, wait for arrival, try it on, ship it back, repeat. Not to mention that all the cool colors are only in regular sizes, not wide sizes. Other than that, the shoes themselves are awesome and I can't wait to order more when I get the chance.

I just love this shoe, it feels like I'm walking on air.

I own both trail and road Hoka sneakers and have put a lot of miles on both. Great sneakers and would highly recommend giving them a try.

Use a pair of Clifton 7 as my work shoe and Clifton 8 as my every day walkers. The 8's have a more spongy feel and extra padding in the tongue compared to the 7, which I loved when I first bought them. Will definitely buy more Clifton. Don't expect them to last forever though, they will break down with regular use but that is to be expected.

I love these shoes on my longer runs but they're great for speed work as well. They've seriously impressed me and they're my preferred shoe of choice. I can run forever in these!

I walk and exercise in them

When I was first introduced to Hoka I had to choose between the Bondi 7 and the Clifton 7. At the time the Bondi won out. My second pair of Hokas came down to the Rincon 2 and Clifton 7, the Clifton came up short again. It was something about the midfoot/arch area that didn't feel right, and they felt a little too firm for where I was at physically during that time. After retiring both my Bondis and Rincons I was in the market for another long run/easy day shoe. After flirting with another brand - I won't say which, I'll just say something about the...Balance wasn't so New - I returned those and tried on the Clifton 8. Much softer midsole this time around and the midfoot either has a little more space or my feet lost weight. I even went a half size down from my normal size 11. Long story short I've had these shoes for 9 days at the time of typing out this review, and I've run in them 6 times covering 41 miles and I'm beyond happy I took the plunge. The ride is smooth and dependable and you'll get where you need to go and you won't be a wreck after long runs.

Just enough cushion without feeling spongy. Love the color White with Blue accents. Much improved over Clifton 7.

The 8's remind of the earlier versions, fitting me much truer to size in the toe box. Also feel as if the mid sole is providing a bit more responsiveness.
