I wore the Anacapa Mid GTX all winter long and loved them. So, with spring on the horizon, I purchased the Anacapa Low GTX. Thought it would be the same shoe only in a low profile. And, in fact, it looks just that way. But the toe box is smaller and no matter what I try, I can't stop my toes from hitting the top of the shoe. I usually wear an 8.5 so I tried a 9. Way too big. I have tried to change my orthotic inserts or eliminate all together and the shoes are still uncomfortable. So disappointed as I need a GTX style for the summer months.

These were the strangest-fitting shoes I have tried on in a long time. They were too short (I'm always a size 8, and my toes touched the end in these) and so wide across the ball that the fabric bunched. They also looked huge on my feet. But more problematic was that the pink padded piece in side the heel was askew and the edge dug painfully into my heel as soon as I put it on. This did not make me feel confident in the quality of these pricey shoes. However, if they fit your feet and you receive a pair that is not defective, they do have great soles and could be very comfortable.

I usually love my hokas I have 3 pair, but this pair did not work for me. They were tight around my foot and were not comfortable in the tops of my feet.

I love Anacapa in the mid rise, but these low rise shoes it my heel exactly wrong. The rear pull on tab is thick and pressure points right where my heel hits my ankle. Too bad. I wanted the comfort of these Anacapa in a more travel friendly shoe. I'm returning them for the mid rise ones I always get

So I had to try these after a decade of devotion to another brand. The hype was just that. I find them very uncomfortable. I have a very small (5.5) foot that is very wide with a severe arch. These were so uncomfortable just riding in the car there was no way I can wear them for a 13 hours shift on my feet the entire time. I gave two stars because they look great. I'm keeping them to wear around town and maybe break them in? But definitely did not make the cut for me.

Did not really have a chance to try this shoe. The moment I put it on I felt it rub against the outside of my big toe. Toe box was not wide enough for me.

The first pair I received made a noise when I walked. Thinking it was a defect, I exchanged them for another pair. The second pair makes the same noises as the first pair. I am returning the shoes for a refund.

Love this shoe, however. Four months in, and not always worn, the sole/tread has detached from the shoe on the outer corner. Although the shoe is my size, it is painful on the top of my shoe like it's too small. I did purchase same size, different "model" and it fits wonderfully.

I'm used to the cushion in bondi 7, so when I walk in these it kills my feet. Very disappointing

They don't look like the advertised photo. They're too lose and hard to tighten. I'd like to return them!

- The upper part of the shoe is more of a dull brown than the red-brown shown in the pic - The bottom of the shoe is a little bit of a darker tan than shown in the pic - I ordered my normal size in other brands and the shoe was HUGEI will have to order an entire size down (another model because I did not like these at all) - These definitely look like hiking boots and could not quite be pulled off as sneakers, IMO

I own multiple pair of Hoka's. I LOVE them. I tell everyone I know about the BEST, most COMFORTABLE shoes ON THE PLANET. However, I tried for days to feel the same way about the Hoka Anacapa Low shoe and it's just not for me. I wanted the 'all-terrain, rugged, waterproof' features, but the sizing is wayyyy off. My Hoka Bondi 7's are size 8.5 with a little wiggle room even with my insert, SUPER comfortable, and I wear them all day, every day with zero fatigue on my feet, legs, etc. My Hoka Bondi X's are size 8 and I wear them for my workouts and indoor use only. They are amazingly comfortable, and I could also wear them all day around the house. The Hoka Anacapa's weren't even a possibility in size 8. I tried size 8.5 and while they fit comfortably around the top and back of my foot, my toes were rubbing against the front of the shoe with every step, so I bumped up to a size 9 (as many people did also). Unfortunately, the shoe for me feels giant! My feet are a standard width, maybe a little narrow - so my feet swim in the toe box of this shoe. I put my Orthera inserts into the shoe, as well as a thicker pair of socks, and I still feel like I can't compensate for the amount of room in the front of the shoe and that am wearing the wrong size. Even with swelling and expansion of my feet after a long walk, they still just don't fit right. I can severely tighten the laces across the bridge of my foot, but they still feel cumbersome. The base of the shoe definitely feels secure and stable on uneven and rough terrain, and I love the fact that I could wear them walking in wet grass without getting soaked feet. I want so much to like (to LOVE) these shoes for the features that they offer, but I'm going to have to find an alternative, water-proof, rugged-yet-super-comfy shoe for long hikes on both pavement and on trails. I will STILL be a die-hard HOKA fan!!

Loved my Bondi HOKAs so much! But this new hiking model is not the same, they're actually killing my feet. So strange, what happened?

I have worn the Tor Summit Low for years for great support and comfort while hiking. With this model no longer being made (ver disappointing) I tried the Anacapa Low.....very poor structural support through the mid foot. At the end of the day produces tremendous aching in the feet. Seems most models are going down in quality. Bring back the Tor Summit Low a true hiking shoe.

I should have listened to the other reviews warning that this shoe is too narrow in the toe box. It does not fit like other Hokas. It is also too narrow through the instep. I wear 9 1/2 in Hokas and bought the 10 but still cannot wear them. No waterproof Hokas for me.

I bought these for hiking, hoping they would have the same fit and support as my Bondi 7s. They don't - not enough arch support for me, and with the orthotics I use the back of the shoe rubs painfully against the back of my ankle.

I ordered this Hoka model because I bought a pair about 3 years ago and like them so much for hiking the soles are wearing out. I was very disappointed to discover that the extra wide toe box has been significantly reduced in size and is not comfortable now. I returned the shoes for this reason.
