These shoes run big and wide. I got the normal width shoes and they are too wide for me. The material buckles & folds. The shoe itself is fine, just too big.

The color is rust ... the photo makes it look red. The shoe is comfortable though.

Definitely waterproof, but a little too bulky for my liking. The shoe "upper" bent right across the the top of my foot by my toe joints and I didn't like that feel. I did try to break them in for a few weeks and still just really didn't like the bulkiness. They are far more water resistant than my Goretex Speedgoats however.

I'm a frequent hiker that loves mountains. I normally buy a size 9.5 in hiking shoes because my feet swell while I'm hiking, so I thought these would be the same situation. Nope. Found out that Hoka's 9.5 is too big for my feet. I should of stuck with a 9. Sadly they hurt my feet because they are big, but I can't return them because it's been more than 30 days. Hoka is a good brand, just remember to get your true size. They don't run small.

Hoka just don't fit me--too high on the ankle. They press on the lower part of the ankle bone. I have decided that they have too much white rubber on them, too, and it's not my taste. They are very popular now and if you don't have a skinny persnickety ankle, the color is very attractive. A kind of brick red.

I bought the Gaviotta 4 because I tried a friend's and it fit perfectly. I also bought these, but they seem almost a half size shorter and quite a bit narrower.

I have three other pairs of Hokas, all size 7, Bondi, Mach 4 and Kaha Hiking boot, and this size 7 was at least a half size smaller than all my other pairs. I would also say they are a bit narrow, but my feet are more on the narrow size so that was actually ok for me. Other than the sizing issue, I would say they have a very aggressive sole, I could feel the height of some of the treads while walking and they are stiffer/more structured/supportive than the Kaha.

These fit okay but were really weird looking, with an awkward, oversized heel.

Finally received my gortex sneakers and can say that I am not so happy. I did wear them thinking I needed to break them in, however not the case. They run tight across your foot, do NOT have the support I expected and run 1/2 size big oddly enough. I usually wear a solid 7 but these were a little big even with a thick sock. Ordered at the beginning of December and didn't receive until 3/1. Should have canceled order, my bad.

The Hoka Anacapa Low was a dissapointment. It is not as well padded as other Hoka's I've gotten - I could feel ridges in both top and sides of the shoe, even with thicker socks. Re size: like others found, once I started walking in them they seemed a tad short. Finally, although the reddish color of the shoe is nicely muted, the red gash design patterns are too crazy for my taste.

a little to clunky for me. I wear Hokas all the time but these were too exaggerated and parts of the shoe where the laces go, stuck out...just not my favorites

I knew to order a half size up but I should have listened to the reviews that said it ran narrow. I have bunions bilaterally and had redness and pressure points after 5 minutes of try-on wear. I would try the men's version but they are all sold out in this style and color. Back they go!

I liked the color and the length was a good fit, but it pinched me on the widest part of my foot.

I really want to like Hokas but they are just not made for a wide foot.

Great comfortable shoes but the seam between the material and the soles started coming undone in less then a month of wear. I expect shoes at this price to hold up much better. return in process

These definitely run TTS. I felt like if I would have ordered my usual size 8, they would have been too bulky. Love the color and grip on the bottom of the hoes, but the style just didn't quite fit me.

I came home yesterday and just tried one on and the front touches the top of my big toe nail. Today I wanted to put the pair with socks and have a good feel. I noticed these shoes have been used a little bit. The sole has slight dark coloration and the top front has been broken. I’m still going to try them and return if I have to. I’m pleased with the price though.

The sole is nice and thick, but the sneaker is too heavy. Not great for climbing or descending hills. My feet hurt after wearing them.

I have 2 pair of Hokas for walking. I love them! The waterproof Hoka sneakers are too heavy and stiff for me. I need them for walking, not hiking, so I bought a more flexible brand.

I really wanted to like these as I have different pair that is great but too light weight for training for walking the Camino de Santiago. Thing is, these had a lopsided fit. One shoe was fine, the other was cut higher on the left foot, making it push on my ankle bone. I thought I could overcome the issue, but one stumble on a trail and I have a severely bruised ankle bone that is taking several days just to walk again without discomfort, let alone training.

I prefer the feel and fit of the Speedgoat to this one. Thia shoe is wide, feels more unisex to me. I don't think they have separate widths for men v women , and the "last" < shoe form> they use on this model is too wide for the mid-foot, arch and heel for a woman's foot.

Looking for waterproof hiking shoe with Gore-Tex and Vibram soles with a bit more cushioning. Went to my local shoe store and tried on the regular Anacapa. Fit well and was comfortable, but they did not carry the waterproof version. Ordered online and discovered that the same size shoe is very, very tight across the foot. Discovering that many similar shoes with Gore-Tex simply don't adjust sizing for this kind of material usage, but also don't offer wides. Returning the Hokas and have purchased another brand that offers Gore-Tex construction in a wide option. Doubt I'll try another pair of Hokas.
