Very comfortable and love Hokas hiking boots. These however run a little big, I went down a half size from 9 to 8.5 and they squeak when walking. The top of the shoe doesn't move well as you walk and as a result crinkle and squeak a bit.

I'm a long term Hoka customer. I returned these hiking shoes because the footbed is narrower; it's a shame there's no wide option for these. I could tell they would be great shoes- fast and stable at the same time.

I ordered size 8.5 because this boot doesn't come in an 8 Wide, which is my true size. So, they're fine. I had to add some padding on the right inside ankle because a seam was rubbing and causing a blister. Once I "customized" the boots, they have been fine. I walk my dog in the snow for about three miles a day, and I have good traction with these boots. I wish they came in wide widths - I have other Hokas in wide and they are perfect for me. I wouldn't recommend if someone doesn't need a wide width shoe.

I've now used the shoes on 3 different hikes. I'm a beginner hiker so the longest hike was about 6 miles of moderate difficulty. I like the low back design which gives me ankle stability while not pinching me as I go downhill. I am noticing that there is already wear on the bottoms where the softer material surrounding the "spikes" is tearing away from walking over the sharp rocks that are on most AZ trails. The shoes still perform well but I'm a little bummed that there's already aesthetic wear. They also feel a bit narrow even after breaking in.

Bought for work and will also use for hiking and backpacking. I usually prefer to hike in my Speedgoats, and I don't often wear boots above the ankle bone in general, so it might just be me, but these took a while to break in at the ankle bone. It was bad enough that I almost sent them back. I had (still have) to wear higher, thicker socks to cover my ankles. They are mostly wonderfully comfortable otherwise, very supportive throughout the foot.

Great hiking shoe. Good support for ankle without a bulky feeling. Good sole design for walking trails.

They fit ok But I feel the rocks through the bottom. They came untied and I twisted my ankle. I was hoping for the cushion like the running shoes have. I have always loved HOKA but I paid more for these hiking boots than any other shoe I've ever owned and I am disappointed in them. My toes hurt and my ankles hurt after a 6 mile moderate hike.

Love the quality and color! Not quite as comfortable as I expected and they make a weird popping sound at times when walking on hard surfaces.

I was excited to try these out, as I love Hoka's! Unfortunately, after just a few miles they made my ankles hurt. They rubbed on the ankle bone so bad that I had to untie them and tie lower. I returned for a different style.

Love love love but wish I got 1 size smaller. I purchased a 10 which is my normal size and also the size of my other previously purchased Hokas. But for this style I really needed a 9.

Fit is on the narrow side which is what I wanted. I couldn't get the tongue to lay flat and I could feel wrinkles across the top of my foot. Also, I prefer the support that comes from the laces starting closer to the toe. I need a narrow toe box to keep my toes stable. After time, I find I have to lace tighter across the toe box than I would be able to do with these.

Used in Alaska on small boat trip, kayak, and short walks. Extra lugs good for wet but not rocky walking or around as rainwear. For rocky terrain you need better ankle support sturdy hikers. Loved the arch snd foot support. If the hika running shoes fit, these do too.

Broke these in with a six mile hike near Mt. Rainier National Park. I walked uphill, downhill, and through mud, water, snow, rocks, and ice. All in all, they held up well. They took impacts like a champ, they kept my feet dry, and supported my ankles whenever the snow or ice caused me to lose my footing. I just have one issue: there is absolutely no excuse for a hiking boot this expensive to have a set of poor and flimsy insoles. I didn't feel how bare they were on mile 2, but by mile 6, I was feeling it bad. For reference, I also wear 5.11 boots that range around $140 for work, and those soles are DEVINE. If I'm paying a hefty sum of cash for quality, then I expect quality.

I am a huge HOKA running shoe fan, so naturally I looked to their hiking boot for my week long hiking trip to Utah (day hikes). I took these boots through sand, down rock walls, through streams, you name it- my feet were comfortable and dry the entire time. I had minor pinching near my pinky toe where the shoe bends, but nothing that caused blisters etc. HOWEVER. I will say that these boots are not as durable as some of their competitors. The leather beneath the lace hook is already ripping/ becoming detached from the shoe- and this is after only 1 week of constant wear. For comparison, my fellow traveler wore a pair of competing brand's hiking boots through the exact same terrain on this trip her boots look entirely unscathed, while mine are beginning to look like they're falling apart. Would I recommend these boots? Yes, adding only that your $180+ investment may not last as long as it would had you invested in a competing brand's hiking boot. (Personally, I still love them and may have to replace them sooner rather than later) *I am a 8.5 in hoka running shoes but sized up to 9 in these boots.
