I have been wearing HOKA walking shoes for a few years and am a big fan. For an hiking trip, i decided to invest in these hiking boots. They were comfortable from the moment I put them on my feet and were a great choice. My hikes were in sometimes wet/muddy conditions and these boots performed well AND kept my feet dry and comfortable through some long hikes. I would totally recommend these boots to any hikers!

My daughter highly recommended these hiking boots so my husband and I purchased them before a recent trip to Montana. All of us said they were the most comfortable boots ever-both lightweight and well cushioned yet able to navigate rugged terrain. Unfortunatley I bought mine a 1/2 size too small and my big toes were sore from rubbing against the front of the shoe. The size 10 was the right length but felt too wide. Unfortunately the boot isn't offered in narrow widths.

Fit is really unique and nice. Super light boot. Great laces. Love the orange! I had to order one whole size up, but I love them. I'm always a 7 in Hoka and my toes were touching the front of the boot. Size 8 is perfect!

First of all, let me state that Hoka does their female customers who wear wides in their tennis shoes, a disservice by hardly offering any options but one, in a hiking shoe or boot. And Zappos doesn't offer any of the limited wide options in hiking boots/shoes by Hoka. Shame on that too. I wear wides in Hoka for the toe box instep area. They are much more comfortable than regular width on my foot, although I do not wear wides in regular shoes. I opted to try 4 different pairs of regular width Hoka hiking boots/shoes hoping they may have more width room than the Hoka Cliftons I buy regularly. Nope. They fit but definitely squeeze my instep-mid foot especially with a good pair of thicker socks. Unfortunately, this and three others are all going back. I have to turn to Hoka website itself and pick from one measly option in a color I really don't even care for.

The fit was ok. The shoes felt as comfy/sponge-like in the step but the sole sticks out like a ski in the backs and is taller in the back thus I felt like my feet would slide forward while walking and my toes would hit. Also, I just felt like the shoe over all looked funny with the soles sticking out like they did and would distract me from my purpose when wearing them.
I'd also recommend:
Kuru, Dansko, Fit Flop, Kork Ease, Nike, Puma

I am a fan of Hoka hiking boots, wear them almost nonstop to avoid foot, hip and back issues. This is my third pair of boots, umpteenth pair of shoes. No problems except for the too-short laces on these. There's barely enough to tie them, much less double-knot them, and they don't stay tied unless double-knotted. At this price seems like Hoka could provide another 6" of laces.

Really wanted to keep these, but my usual 10 1/2 was too small and an 11 was a bit too large. Will have to find another style.

Only wore these on a few shorter hikes. Seem supportive and lightweight, these need to be broke in.

Liked the color a lot and fit wasn't bad, but there was a seam on the left ankle that made it itch badly. I am keeping the 9.5 pair to see if they have the same issue.

I plan to wear these for a study abroad program in Iceland this summer. They are very comfortable. They feel a little big and wide, but I do not know if I would advise sizing down. I will wear thick socks so they will fit just fine.

I love the way the shoe fits but after 45 minutes my feet fall asleep meaning they are restricting blood flow. I wonder why.

I really wanted these boots to work! They are so cute but they were too narrow for my medium width feet. I exchanged for the Kaha 2 Low GTX which fit my width much better and still very cute!

They give you great traction but not enough cushion comfort for walking on gravel. Will be purchasing new inserts with more cushion and support. Overall a nice hiking boot.

Very supportive in the ankle but after a few hours of hiking, they got a little heavy. I don't think there was enough cushion in the soles. I usually wear a size 10 in women's and sized up to 10.5, and that was a good call. I returned them because I need more cushion in the soles, otherwise, I would've kept them.

It's a comfortable shoe. I concur with the other reviews about the sole long term durability as mine was starting to wear on the first hike. The ankle area is quite small and hard to get on at first but once you get it on very comfortable. I had limited issues with my toes being pushed against the front going down hill so that was good. The laces loosen up after hiking awhile. My biggest concern with this shoe is the issue of hiking over rough rocky terrain. This is not the shoe for hikes like that. They are not sturdy enough at all. These shoes are better for wooded hikes with no rocks. I twisted my ankle on the first hike with these. Do not take these shoes on a long hike with a heavy pack on rocky terrain.

I've bough this boot TWICE despite having some issues with it. I've recently bought a newer model in their higher price point, so im hoping I like that one better (TBD). pro's!: you don't need to break this boot in. I bought these and started hiking Sedona right away. plush, comfortable. true to size. they look cool. people always ask me about them on the trails LOL. I feel my foot and ankle are supported, and can take on most terrains, but not all. cons: the sole (vibram) is TOO SOFT! it started SHREDDING, within the first few hikes both times I bough the boots. I mean chunks, scuffed from the sole and sides of the boot. not what you expect from a boot thats nearly $200.... ALSO the boot is marketed and displayed standing in a river LOL, I would not suggest it. I believe its "water resistent" but your foot will flood. wouldn't even suggest crossing a very shallow river in these, you'll be soaked. great for dry terrains. but perhaps not the rocky terrains I frequent around Southern California usually -- perhaps the rocks shred the sole. hopefully the next pair will be more durable and last longer than a few months.

These boots are comfortable and have a nice sized toe box. I do find that these boots run about a 1/2 size bigger and I also had issues the top hooks pushing into my ankle from the underside. Both of these issues were resolved by wearing thicker socks. I'm mostly happy that these boots did not cause blisters or tender spots on my feet, which is why I chose to keep them.

I ordered these for work and it is required that my shoes are all black. The mid sole of these shoes is dark gray. I wish they were truly black because they are sooo comfortable and sooo much cooler looking that the other boot that Hoka Makes in all black. I suggest sizing down as I am usually an 8 and ordered these in a 7.5 and they are perfect.

I have very flat feet and long shifts on my feet have been very painful for sometime now. The support I get from the tops that go over the ankle has been so very helpful.
