This backpack is good quality

My son is beginning college and was excited to get the Surge North Face Backpack for Christmas. He loved North Face items and I am sure that this backpack will be an asset to his college career.

Just the right size and comfortable to wear

Great bag with lots of compartments but the main compartment gets tightened if you use other compartments.

Purchased for a recent trip to Japan. Plenty of space for both tablet and 15" laptop, two mobile phones, travel adapter and notebooks.

I bought this backpack for my husband for Christmas and he loved it! There are many pockets for storage, perfect for traveling and on the go with our toddler. One strange thing, though, was that when my husband took the backpack out of the plastic bag and started opening the pockets, there was a bottle of spray Dove deodorant and 2 packs of peanut butter crackers. I had not taken it out of the plastic bag upon wrapping it, so when he opened it, it was straight from the factory, untouched by me. We had a laugh and thought it was very odd, but the backpack was not at all damaged, stained, etc. The bag was in perfect condition, my husband was pleased, and we got a little snack, LOL!

This is a replacement for a 10 year old surge backpack. This one is even better. I love all the pockets!

I've bought so many backpacks for my two active teenaged boys. Inevitably, the backpack rips near the handle, the zippers break, or the mesh bottle holders tear. This backpack is incredibly well-made, from the stitching to the material to the hardware. Highly recommend!

Very nice overall daily use pack that I use all day, every day. I have owned this about a month. It's great for organizing with easy to access pockets and easy to locate zipper placement. Some are lined for safe guarding delicate glasses and screens. The computer/paperwork organizer in the back is well laid out with excellent protection. The previous Surge pack had some hidden pockets that were perfect for carrying cash and credit cards and wish this had at least one of those. I disliked that the previous one always fell over, this version stands up! As a bicycle commuter I like the little touches like places to attach lights and strapping points for securing bulkier items like my helmet. This Surge Backpack was a direct replacement to the previous model which was tearing at the shoulder strap seam. I work in a medical field and a lifetime hiker who takes excellent care of my equipment. Disappointed that NF said I misused the previous pack, but the Customer Service rep came through. These shoulder strap attachments are redesigned so I hope these don't pull out. Some reviews claim that there is less interior room than before. I find that if the front and back pockets are fully loaded then, yes there is less room in the main compartment. I prefer this organization system over more interior room, of course you can unload the pockets for cavernous main storage. I still hike with lots of NF equipment from the 90's. At work I use a NF lumbar pack that has outlasted 4 other brands! I go with The North Face for their excellent quality, durability and support.

Great bag with plenty of compartments. Love the color and the feel of it. Laptop compartment is a bit too tight; probably built for the laptop to be stored without any sleeve. Overall, love it!

This is my second backpack from The North Face (the first one I pretty much wore out after 8 years) and it is better than the first. There are pockets within pockets which helps me keep everything organized, including a special pocket to keep my laptop safe and secure.

This backpack is very well built, smart, and protects my 15" laptop. The cover looks pretty tough and abrasion resistant, and there are a lot of nice pockets for all my gear, keys, sunglasses, water bottles, etc.

Very good sturdy backpack. I've only used it for a week or so, but it looks seems like it will hold up very well.

I've had this backpack for a little over a month now, I use it for day to day activities and it works great! I like the updated design, it makes it feel like you have a little more space. I got the grey one and it looks great but I wish there had been more color options to choose from. Overall the backpack works great, looks great, and it is very comfortable to wear all day.

Bought this backpack for my 14 year old grandson. He's going to 9th grade and said it fits all of his class room needs with extra space for swim team wear.

I use this bag for everything, Travel, camping, Amusement parks, it's my airport bag, school bag, beach bag, everything. Ive had this bag for a year and can't think of a complaint. Well rounded bag, would recommend.

Great size, cool color

Having two 2015 north face surges, The 2022 TNF Surge is Phenomenal. I am completely satisfied with the new design of the 2022. From the features and the durability of the backpack. Thank you Northface.

I used this product for travel and use for hiking too. Portable and well designed

Ample space with water bottle pockets! You can fit an entire DSLR. More space in the main pockets. The straps are pretty comfortable. Overall loved the product!
