I have three pairs now, two black, one brown. I love them and wear them all the time for work and pleasure. Very comfortable. They generally wear pretty well.

Having bought this shoe (Park Ave) for years, beginning in the 70's, the heel is lately omehow shorter so that my foot slips out of it. Very sorry as I love the shoe.

BTW...I have a wide foot, measuring 7.5 E. I have to order one size larger for fit. However, I have three pairs of park avenue that I rotate. However, I have been looking for a cordivan leather cap toe. Have you ever given thought to making one in this style?

The shoes are nice but quality control isn't. I ordered two pair (D and E width). The E width was narrower than the D.

Without hesitation the Allen Edmonds shoes have always been my favorite and honestly the only shoes I have worn for over 20 years. However this pair is not exactly what I expected from AE. I needed a wider shoe and even went into the AE in Atlanta for a measurement. When I ordered the shoes, they were and are very tight and have not stretched. Also they apprear to be made differently. One shoe has a darker finish than the other so I only wear them for something very casual and not for business wear. A little disappointed but will order others in the future.

This was my first ever Allen Edmonds purchase and I had high expectations of their legendary quality. Alas, the shoes been found wanting. There was a noticeable dent on the toe-cap along with a gap on the welt around the stitching on one of the shoe. My heart was heavy with disappointment. The flaws aside, the shoes did look well made otherwise. They are on their way back and hopefully, the replacement pair will make me forget I ever received the first.

Iconic shoe, highly reviewed, but noticed a flaw in my shoe when I got it home after purchase. Left one looks like the stitching is right next to the edge when looking top down. Essentially, looks like the holes were cut too close to the edge. Hit the tip of the shoe on something, could crack easily. Taking back to store once they have new one in stock, but inconvenience as store is an hour away from home...

NOTE: This review is in regard to a pair of factory seconds, however, because the issue is structural and not cosmetic, I believe it is worthwhile for others to be aware as my issue may affect park avenue firsts. I recently purchased a pair of black park avenues as factory seconds. The shoes came in an untouched box and appeared to be without any noticeable cosmetic defect. However, after two wears, there is noticeable bowing/ crumpling on the upper of the right shoe. The shoe otherwise appears to fit well. I have two other pairs of AE shoes in the same size and on the 65 last and they both fit well. The other pairs I own are strands and fifth avenues. The pair of park avenues I purchased feel slightly larger in fit than the strands and fifths, but feel like they fit well in length and most importantly width at the ball. I understand that the pair I purchased were seconds, however, disappointed in what appears to be other than a cosmetic defect. If I did it over I would probably not purchase park avenue seconds and also would consider there may be slightly more volume to the shoe than similar designs on the 65 last.

The Park Ave. Cap-Toes are a lovely pair of shoes. My only quibble--and it's a large one--is that the shoes fit unevenly. Yes, I'm aware that feet are not exactly the same width, but the difference between the right and left shoes in this case is considerable. It's so large in fact that I have to wear a sweat sock on my right foot, with a regular dress sock on my left. Now that's a large difference. I would have returned them had I not already had the heels replaced with rubber ones. Yet, with other AllenEdwards shoes I've had fewer problems. I've bought AE shoes before and will again.

I have used this shoe for over 30 years. This pair is the first time I have had a pair with a flaw (the problem with buying things over the internet). Customer service was very responsive.

wrinkled leather above the stitch line on the shoe that I feel shouldn't have been there when the shoes arrived for the price you pay. This was my 4th pair of Allen Edmonds purchased in the last year, but should have sent these back.

I purchased the bundled student offer for shoes, belt, and shoe trees. The black Park Avenue fits well, is comfortable, and looks elegant. I have worn it every other day for four weeks now. I walk less than a mile on the street and I spend the day in my office. The quality of the pair that I bought does not match the price I paid for it. The left shoe has developed a very noticeable indentation alongside the cap toe line. The right shoe is fine. This should not happen to a high-quality pair of shoes. I have a brown Park Avenue pair that I have used as much as the black pair and it does not have the same problem.

Earlier this year I bought the Bourbon Park Ave and had only worn them a few times. They're comfortable and seem to be made of high quality construction. However, I went to shine them before a wedding recently and discovered several spots of discoloration in the leather. I'm pretty sure they weren't there when I bought them but they were definitely significant. It looks like the stain somehow came off. I immediately snapped a photo and contacted AE via Twitter. They immediately responded and sent me a shipping label so they could take a look at the shoes. So the customer service at AE gets 5 stars. We'll see how the shoes turn out after they are "fixed."

I purchased a pair of black Park Avenues about 2 years ago from an upscale department store on the strong recommendations, bordering on insistence, from two colleagues. "You have to have to try these," they insisted. I relented. When I got the first pair home, I noticed that the cap was sewn at an angle, not straight across the toe, on one of the shoes. The store happily exchanged them. But, maybe that should have struck a cautionary note. I've worn them 2X a week, alternating with another pair. I change into them at the office, and only wear them outside in good weather. Soon after purchase though, I noticed that there was a gap between my shoes and foot on the insides of the uppers by the ankle that my other pair didn't have. This may have just been due, however, to a difference between my foot and the lasts. Yesterday though, my boss came into my office holding a piece of a shoe heel asking me if I'd lost something. I looked down, and sure enough it was mine. The quarter-inch thick bottom of the heel piece that contacts directly with the floor, known for some reason as the "top piece" had detached from the part that's nailed into the sole and shoe proper, aka the "heel seat." The back of the top piece had not worn through to the heel seat. This was sort of embarrassing for someone who takes pride in being a sharp dresser. ***Disclaimer*** I'm not writing this to score free repairs from customer service. I'm going to drop them off tomorrow with 2 legendary cobblers who've been in the business for decades. They will compliment me on my choice of shoes, reheel and resole, and my Allen Edmonds will be better than new. All that said, I expect to be wearing these shoes at least for 10 more years if not longer. I just don't know if I'd replace them with the same.

I purchased the black version of a shoe which I have had purchased in brown twice over the last ten years. The black shoes are simply inferior to the the shoe that was made in past. Sloppy finishing and sadly what seems to be an inferior starting point as the leather is not as even. I kept them as I needed the shoe for a wedding I had the next day, but I will miss the Allen Edmonds of old.

Purchased two pair of Park avenues a year ago with the understanding and expectation that they would last several years. Less than one year later I have heel splitting on one pair and leather distortion on the other pair. The only option is to send them back for a two week repair which is not guaranteed under warranty. Very disappointing for a purported high quality, high priced shoe.

I own several pairs of AE Shoes - like the look - but feel they run narrow compared to other brands. I have a two pairs of the park ave. and noticed that the heel on one of my shoes is separating from the sole. One would think for what you pay for these shoes - that they would hold up better. I will go to the store and see what they can do about fixing or replacing the shoe.

I bought this shoe based on the reviews and word from friends. I have loved them since I got them a few months ago. Look great and feel great as promised. I only wear these 2-3 days a week however I noticed todat that the rubber on each heel is seperating from the shoe itself. I know the company re-works shoes but this should not have happened so quickly on such a high end shoe nonetheless.

I love these shoes, but the first time I wore them a bad looking crease on the cap itself formed on the right shoe, but not the left. I wouldn't care if the crease had been above the cap because that is how they are supposed to wear/break-in. The crease on the right cap looks bad and this has kept me from wearing an otherwise beautiful shoe more often.

I purchased a pair of Park Avenues for once a week wear about 18 months ago. I'd estimate I've worn the shoes about 75 times in this period. I'm happy with the look of the shoes, but disappointed in the quality. I went to put on the shoes this morning, and the rubber heel piece on the right shoe fell off, exposing the nails in the heel. I can't wear the shoe now, and had no indication that the heel piece was even loose.

This is my first pair of AE, and I must say I am disappointed in the quality of this shoe. I pulled them out of the box when I got home and laced them up then slipped them on with a shoe horn. They felt great!! I walked around my bedroom for a few minutes and noticed the left shoe had started to crease below the cap-toe (see attached pictures). I am worried this is only the beginning of a problem down the road after reading some of the other reviews on here. The right shoe seems fine for now, but like I said, I have only wore them for just a few minutes. I was recommended to AE for their exceptional quality and style, and sadly this may be my last experience with them.

I purchased these shoes about a month back. I was extremely excited to wear them the first time yesterday because I was waiting for a nice spring day to finally show them off to the world and not have to worry about all of the salt from the brutal 2014 Philadelphia winter. And here is where my excitement began to fade. After day ONE of wearing my AE Park Ave to the office I've noticed two things that have been commented in previous reviews that worry me. My left shoe appears to begin splitting at the front of the sole and the right has begun creasing at the cap-toe. Now I would have though this to be simply due to the shoe breaking in but it's has occurred to other in the past as well, which concerns me. I purchase all the care products with full intentions of maintaining the shoe as per AE instructions. I've purchased a pair of unworn McCallister (as of 4/2), planning on getting a third pair, but now I'm questioning the quality of shoe and AE QC. I'll be providing an update in a few months on how my Park Ave are holding up. Like I said, I'm hoping they're just breaking in and the issue isn't going to exacerbate moving forward.

I own two pairs of the Park Avenue shoes (black and brown),and 1 pair of black Bradley's that were purchased in 2012. I think the style and quality are good. My only complaint is when I wear these shoes by the end of the day I get blisters on the side of my little toe. Obviously the salesmen do not know how to fit a customer properly. These shoes have been stretched numerous times - probably need to move up a 1/2 size. No fault of Allen Edmonds - but the fault of the store not having a good understanding of fitting properly. It is unfortunate that I have a total of three shoes that are about $1,000 in value that cannot be worn for any extended length of time. OUCH!!
