I purchased a pair of dark brown Park Avenues (my first pair of Allen Edmonds) and was very happy with their style and leather quality. I purchased the cedar shoe tree and have used it consistently. The only problem (and it is a big problem) is that the heels on the shoes are already ripping away from the sole! I've only worn the shoes 3 times. They fit great but the quality of the shoe seems to be very poor. I will have to return them to the store.

I was introduced to Allen Edmonds shoes in the late 70's. They used to make every shoe in all widths - from AAA to EEEE. I have a AAA foot, and can now only get 17 models in AAA ... unless I want to fork over an extra $50 for special order. Anyway, I ordered some new Park Avenues and Wilberts in 10.5 AAA and they are both very painful - even after wearing them enough to break in. They hurt the tops of my feet - near where the laces end at the top of the shoe, closest to my ankle. By the end of the day, I can barely walk. These shoes used to be awesome - perfect fit and so comfortable. Now that they are no longer an option for me, not sure where I'm going to find AAA shoes. Very disappointed.

After many years of buying "cheap" shoes from other manufactures, I decided to upgrade to a "better" shoe and ordered a pair of Park Avenues last summer. I read many rave reviews about Allen Edmonds concerning their quality, value, and fantastic customer service. Unfortunately, I have yet to see the outstanding quality. I have now replaced my Park Avenues 6-7 times due to a number of issues. Almost every pair had the infamous cracking heel after only a couple of wears. Most of them also had a variety of other leather and stitching issues right out of the box. The shoes are very comfortable; however the quality issues will force me to stay away from this brand in the future. I am very disappointed.

I have had my Park Avenues for ~3 months now. In that time, the following has happened: Both heels have started to break away from the shoe the rubber sole of the heel has begun to come off of one shoe They both soak up water like a sponge. Walking from the train to the office on a damp (no rain) day will result in wet socks by the time I get to the office (about 2 blocks). An awful lot of money for a shoe that has little quality.
