Classic pair of cap toes. Good fit, just slightly wide. Comfortable right out of the box.

have had one pair for at least 15 years, and they still feel perfect when I wear them. just over a year ago I bought a second pair to wear for a wedding. My size increased by 1/2 size, and the new pair is just as good as the first. This is probably your finest product.

Let's be clear for a moment - I have bad feet. They are misshapen, strange arches, and wide; really wide. I was skeptical when I bought my first Allen Edmonds ever. It was a price that was a bit out of my range at the time, but I needed a quality pair of good shoes. What made me more skeptical is that the store did not have it in my size. I was about to drop a bunch of money on a shoe I wouldn't try until it arrived. Against my usual judgment, I made the purchase. Not too long after, my shoes arrived via UPS. These Park Avenues did something no other shoe did before in my life up to that point: fit. They were stylish. People actually approached me to ask where I got my shoes from! I could wear them for 10 hours at a time if work kept me late, and my feet weren't in any more discomfort (aside from being on your feet for 10 hours). The arch is supported, the toes were where they wanted to be - as opposed to where the shoe made them fit, as with previous shoes. All in all - I was pleased...and hooked. When I want to buy new dress shoes, I always go to AE from now on.

In 2007 I began work as a United States diplomat stationed in Africa. I went to the Allen Edmonds store in Washington, D.C., and tried on several different shoes till I found one that seemed to fit like a glove - a brown Park Avenue 10 E. I wore it daily to work for a few months, and then ordered the same size in black, and later got a third pair in Merlot. The Merlot pair had a heel separate from the sole early on in its use, and AE repaired it at no charge. Since then I have worn one of these three shoes to work every day - i.e. for 6 years non-stop. I keep them in trees at night, rarely polish them, and have had two pairs recrafted twice, and one pair recrafted once. On occasion I walk a mile or two to work in different conditions, including desert sand, tropical rainfall, and icy sleet, since with these shoes I have covered 8 countries in West Africa, 7 countries in Central and Northern Europe, and now 6 countries in S. America and the Caribbean. The black PA's have little cracks in the leather, because they were exposed to salt on the icy streets of Warsaw, Poland, on multiple occasions, but the other two are still remarkably good. Last year as a present I bought myself two more AE's built on the 5 last, which I use for formal affairs only. I believe that the three work pairs I use were a far better investment than the less expensive shoes I wore earlier in my life, which looked worse and wore out quickly. However, the greatest pleasure is not the investment, but the fact I have never had more comfortable footwear in my entire life (except perhaps for the Redwing logger's boots with Vibram soles I bought in 1978, and still use for big jobs in rough country). Nothing is perfect in life but the AE Park Avenue is a delightful shoe to own and wear.

another fine shoe by AE. I have bought six pairs of dress shoes by AE in the last 18 months in a complete overhaul to my work wardrobe. I consider them an investment and I look forward to the returns.

I bought this shoe in 1999. It has been recrafted twice. I think this is the prettiest shoe Allen Edmonds makes. I think it is their flag-ship shoe. This shoe will polish and shine like a mirror. I love it with dress and formal attire. All other shoes are judged by the timeless Park Avenue. The fit is spot on. There are other shoe companies out there, but no shoe company has the product nor the customer service provided by this made in the USA, quality first company. Like Ali, these shoes are the greatest of all time.

I have been wearing Allen Edmonds' shoes for more than 30 years. I can not imagine not having them in my wardrobe. The quality of the shoes, the professiionalism of the sales staff and the overall experience keeps me coming back. When you figure in the cost of the shoes over your lifetime and add in the reasonable cost of re-crafting; the overall cost is minimal. Every professional should have several pair of AE shoes to choose from.

I bought a pair of the Park Avenue in Walnut about a year ago. I wear them once or twice a week. Not once issue with comfort or during the breaking in process. I have received numerous compliments about these shoes. I have bought two additional pairs of AE shoesin other styles. These truely are the best dress shoe money can buy. I tell all my friends to buy the park avenue. They come at a price, but it sure beats putting out $$ each year for inferior brands and quality. Only complaints is my budget wont allow more shoes.

Should you choose to buy these shoes, you should understand that you are investing in beautiful, comfortable, well-crafted shoes. This isn't my first pair of AE shoes (bought a pair of the Mcallister first, and I'll review later) so I'm familiar with the 5 last. With other shoe brands, I'm a D width, but I went E with both these shoes and the Mcallisters (and soon the 7th Ave!). They run slightly narrow and while the leather will soften, don't expect them to stretch too much. In fact, I was told they don't really stretch (soften is a good word) and after almost a month of wearing them, I'd agree. So, if this is your first pair of AE shoes, go and get fitted properly. I cannot stress this enough. And when you get fitted, bring socks! I also recommend breaking them in by wearing them indoors for short periods of time before you go out for the first time. They'll be that much more comfortable. You'll probably be wearing these shoes with slacks and if you prefer tailored pants as I do (slimmer, more modern fit) , they look fabulous. Classy and modern. The shoes are pricey, but if properly cared for, these will last you a long time. So far, they look like they'll age well--hopefully as well as my Mcallisters. I'll agree with others who say not to wear your shoes everyday or on consecutive days. Also, I will recommend buying shoe trees and polish.

Perhaps I'm just lucky that the last used for Park Ave fits me so well, but I wear a 13B which basically makes finding any shoe off the rack that fits impossible. I'm lucky if stores carry 13D... and I'm at a point where I refuse to wear shoes that don't fit - too many years of doing so. It's great knowing I can order AE's in my size while noting the lasts that work for me, and know it's a quality shoe that fits me well... no break in - just put them on a go to work - this will be my interview / important meeting shoe for sure...

I have two pairs of the Park Avenue in Walnut Grain and Merlot. They are stylish and comfortable. They look great with a suit or slacks. I always get compliments when I wear them. I can't believe the reviews I am reading about these shoes. No matter how good a shoe is they should not be worn everyday. Some of the shoes in the other reviews look like they were abused. I wouldn't wear the same suit or a shirt several times a week. That would ruin it no matter how good the garment is. In other reviews, I have read that one shoe is bigger than the other. Most people have one foot larger than the other. If you maintain your shoes properly they will look as good as the day you got them. Rotate your shoes they will last a lot longer.

I am on my feet for up to 12 hours a day and have found Allen Edmonds in general to be superb in terms of quality and, suprisingly, comfort. I currently own six pairs of AE shoes, but the Park Avenues are the best. What is most suprising, is that they are probably the most comfortable shoes I own, as well. I wear them less than once a week but only because I'm afraid to wear out my best pair of shoes. I've now owned them for eight years and they look brand new.

I am a trial lawyer and purchased the black Park Avenues in about 1998 and wear them almost exclusively only to courtrooms for trials and hearings a dozen or so times a year. Being on my feet all day or alert on the edge of my chair during testimony or hearings, they are exquisitely comfortable. They have been involved in many millions of dollars at stake in litigation. They handle long city hard sidewalk trips to the courthouse very comfortably as well. Only now, after about 13 years are they in need of recrafting. These are the best shoes I have ever owned. I heartily recommend them.

This was my second pair of AEs and while theses were not as supple out of the box, they have almost broken in (2 weeks in, and I essentially only wear these or my AE Hinsdales). There is still an odd pressure point when I step in my left foot, but the leather has been softening up. My recommendation is to wait it out with these shoes because while the multiple layers of leather take time to break in, the look of them, ease of shine, and comfort (we're almost there) is worth it in the long run.

Have Park Avenue in both black and burgundy. Wear a 9.5 EEE. Very snappy look especially when polished. I'm in federal law enforcement and wear suits. These shoes add a very professional look when in the court room and where I am representing our agency. It's a shame to see someone in a good suit to only see that their shoes take away from the whole outfit. Purchased them in 2005. Have recrafted both of them roughly every 12-18 months depending on wear and tear. Have done the full recraft and partial. For me the wear is in the soles and not the leather uppers. I'm on my feet a lot. No problems with the shoe. Recrafting is a hit or miss. Sometimes they come back tighter or the leather is damaged. However, I take them to the AE retail (Washington, DC) store and they send them back to AE. AE does fix the problem with a personal phone call and provides solutions. I am very satisfied with their customer service. I do recommend taking a photo of your shoes before sending them for recraft.

The Merlot Park Avenues are my fifth pair of AEs. I should not have waited this long to get them. The fit is superb. They are comfortable from the first step out of the box. The upper is incredibly soft and the fit is classic AE. I will have to get another color soon.

I recently purchased my 20th pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. My most recent purchase was a Park Avenue in dark brown. In my opinion, the Park Avenue is the best shoe I have ever in collection and is probably the best shoe that Allen Edmonds has created. I have the Park Avenue in Black, Merlot and Dark Brown. I have been an Allen Edmonds customer since 2009 and will be one for the rest of my life. Highly recommended.
