I originally bought two of these totes in medium for my boys to use for carrying their outdoor winter gear to, and from school without using up space in their backpacks. I loved them so much, I ordered one for myself, too! They're durable, lightweight, and I LOVE the buffalo check! Keep that plaid coming, LL Bean!

I have several bean canvas totes in all sizes which I love. I needed a purse like tote for days when I'm carrying more than usual. This is the perfect tote. It's very lightweight and looks great. I get so many compliments on it. And you cannot beat the price. I bought the medium tote.

I love the durability and how much room I have for carrying all my items.

I love LL Bean's tote bags. This is a light weight nylon bag with the zip top. These bags are so well made with the best quality materials. I use them for everything. super strong

I actually purchased 10 of these totes for gifts, 7 large and 3 small. I had them all monogramed. I am very pleased with the quality and value. The material is a nice texture and sturdy. They have zippers so things will not spill out. I am proud to give them as gifts to the women and girls in my family. Also, there's a great selection of colors and patterns to choose from.

Bought this bag for the wife for Christmas with her name engraved, They did a very good job on that and the checkered pattern looks great also. It has a zipper pocket inside it for storage also.

I don't want to carry bags on my shoulder and being a short man I have trouble finding bags that don't drag the ground while full, so I usually have to slightly lift my elbow to carry them. At 57 my elbows are no longer cooperating and while I hopefully have many years left, I am trying to stop all the bad habits that can have a negative, cumulative effect on the body. Luckily I found these affordable bags with the perfect length handles allowing my arms to hang completely down. I first got both the Buffalo Check and Grey Stewart in Medium to test out the quality which I thought was great. Then I saw that they were quickly selling out online so I called the Freeport, Maine store and ordered the same 2 bags in Large. They look masculine enough for a man (unisex enough for a woman) and the red/black Buffalo Check and Grey Stewart plaids give me that warm, cozy, fireplace and snow covered pines feeling which makes a cold winter much more enjoyable. Now that I have Tote Fever I went back to add the Hunting MacLeod blue/green plaid but it also has SOLD OUT and only the Gray Buffalo Plaid is available online and to me it looks unfinished so I will pass on it. But I am extremely happy with what I have and glad to get the medium and large sizes in the 2 plaids I liked best before they sold out. I'd recommend calling the stores to see what is maybe still in stock. The person who answered at the Freeport location was so kind and helpful. I placed my order on Thursday night and got my package on Monday! Very pleased.

Love this tote! Perfect for a weekend away. The zipper top keeps things from falling out. Material is easy to keep clean.

I got this bag to bring to work because it zips and it's just the right size for my needs. I have the medium as well. I recommended this tote to my friends as well. The ONLY request I have from L.L. Bean is to give us the option for the length of the handles, like on the Boat & Tote, the option for longer handles which I love so I can put it on my shoulder as I walk into work. Even possibly have the option for an X Large did as well!

I bought the plaid bag in the last month and have already used it for a couple of grocery trips. I have two of these lightweight totes, both size large, and they are great. I've filled them up once with probably 45 pounds of groceries and it felt solid carrying it from my car to my house. Highly recommend these bags and wish they put the inside zippered pocket into their canvas totes! Just a thought :)

I purchased this tote to carry everything we need for swim lesson classes. Towels, shoes, and snacks.

Bought first one earlier this month, just bought another in a different plaid. Material is similar to backpack material -- very sturdy yet lightweight and should last a long time. The plaids are cheerful, the outer open pocket and inner zippered pocket are handy. The key lanyard, located inside of the inner zippered pocket, is just the right length -- long enough to use the house key without having to unclip it. I'm happy with the handle lengths. Please don't change them.

These are excellent bags for many uses. I like it cuz it has a zipper pocket inside. The material wipes clean. Also have more than one of these, they serve many purposes. Colors and patterns are nice as well. I have used these many times on our travels and even around home like shopping or going to the beach.

It's a running joke in my house how many of these bags I own. All of them with my name monogrammed on it. They are just the right size for me as an every day pocketbook. They are super light and sit nicely on the shoulder. I even convinced my mother and sister to each get one and they love it too. Hopefully one day they will make it in solid black.. I will be first on line to buy it.

Folded this tote into backpack to use as shopping/carrying various essentials,(when not using backpack)on recent trip. It was so lightweight, didn't even notice carrying along with my purse. The stacked initial monogram and Grey Steward plaid is stylish and liked that the nylon can be easily wiped off with damp cloth if needed. The medium was perfect size and this is my new favorite tote.

I was disappointed to see this wasn't cloth. My fault for not checking the description, though. I had it monogrammed, so there's no sending it back. I'll still use it this summer for traveling and shopping. It will hold a lot!!

Lovely pattern. Straps could be longer and wider, especially for the sizes bigger than medium. If you expect people carry more in a larger sized bag, then why wouldn't the straps also change? Some light padding could also be added to the strap too so that it doesn't dig into your shoulders. The design overall is so simple and outdated for the price. There are other brands out there that have better more comfortable and modern designs that super functional. Not every bag has to be Boat and Tote copies.

Love the plaid pattern and lightweight design. my only suggestion would be to have offered it with longer straps.

I was over charged for a large tote online I have not used it yet but it seems to be nice quality. The only issue is I paid $49.95 and when it arrived the price tag on it was $39.95

REALLY LARGE BAG AND NICELY MADE I AM GIVING IT 4 STARS ONLY BECAUSE THE HANDLES DO NOT FIT OVER YOUR SHOULDERS. NEED TO BE LONGER

love it. it has a water resistant liner inside. I am using it for cold items at the grocery store. the handle length is short as mentioned in other reviews. I prefer longer but love it so for the grocery store or beach it is useful but not longer trips as the straps would bother me.

I have 3 of these bags in med and large. I love these totes! Lightweight & very durable. I'm not crazy about this print, but it was my favorite among the colors and prints still offered. Please pass along to the designers to offer new colors and prints. I have been checking for months for new cute summer/spring designs and no new designs came out.

Very nice well-made bag. Maybe a bit overpriced tho; I also bought a larger nicely-made tote online elsewhere for almost 1/2 the price of this one.
