The laces are for show. It would be great if one could adjust them for those with really narrow feet.

This is a well built shoe. Once it's on, it's very comfortable. The opening is awfully small. I have to use a shoe horn to get my feet in. I did pull/stretch the opening and that helps some. I fully believe with time/usage it will stretch itself out. I have wide feet and a fairly high arch and it still fits nicely, once I work my foot in.

These are great shoes, they have good arch support and are very comfortable. I like the color and they look good. The only reason that I didn't give them five stars is that they are somewhat hard to slip on your feet. They have a nice built-in sock-like interior, however, so I can live with that. Very happy with this purchase.

My order arrived quickly and the shoe is attractive looking but the the opening of the shoe is rather small and it's hard to get your foot into it. I imagine it's designed that way to keep the snow and moisture out. I ordered a 1/2 size larger than I normally do so I would have room to wear heavy socks so the shoe is the correct size, I have a very difficult time of getting my foot into it. I'm in the process of trying to stretch the opening.

I love almost every single thing about these very sturdy shoes. My issue with shoes is I have a very high arch/instep that complicated putting on these shoes with the very snug elastic inner band. I hung onto them and kept trying to "break them in" with walking but they were unrelenting. I finally returned them 2 days ago and will just keep hunting for shoes like these, but with tie laces. These shoes have amazing construction though and quality overall, just sayin'.

Very comfortable, nice quality. Only problem is they are hard to step into. Need to use a long shoe horn to get them on.

This hiking shoe is attractive and I love the color combination and permanent elastic lacing. I chose this model because of its slip-on style. Having said that, they fit very snugly through the instep and neck of the shoe and required a longer than usual breaking-in period. I like the look of the contrasting black inner stretch "glove," but these shoes require a little finesse to pull on. I've worn them regularly for two weeks now and they are finally getting comfortable. I'm glad that I got them!

Nicely made but stitching inside toe area rub a bit. Seems wide enough but low foot height. Comfort with orthotics just ok

I purchased these shoes because I wanted a sporty, comfortable every day hiking sneaker. They are comfortable once you get them on, but they are difficult to get on because the inner shoe sleeve fits tight. You really need a shoe horn to get them on without compromising the back heel area of the shoe.

Very comfortable shoe. However, I really need a narrow width which is not available. Wearing this pair with extra thick socks works okay. I just wish I could find more shoes available in a narrow.

Pretty comfortable

I like the shoes. However, the inside sole doesnt seem to fit the shoe as it was gathered up at the heel. I thought that it would bother me, but fortunately it hasn't. It will take some time to break them in. After a couple hours of walking, they started to hurt.

Not easy to slip into. A bit loose in the heel, otherwise comfortably snug. Somewhat clunky. Good for walking.

These shoes are very, very difficult to get on. I mean really difficult. They are not just slip-ons. But once you get them on they are very comfortable and I like the color too.

Have a hard time to put my foot. It is very tight to put your foot.

I really like the looks, weight, and style of these shoes. However, I really wish LL Bean shoes had more arch support!

These shoes are comfortable, not real attractive, and definitely not water repellent as advertised. My feet got wet in about 2 minutes in light rain while walking on a grass covered trail. I didn't expect them to be waterproof, but at least somewhat resistant to water. They are not.

These are comfortable, but very wide. I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes. They are now in the "donate" pile.

Run small. While I'd love to have these, they are very hard to fit for someone with high arches

These shoes were very difficult to get on. I usually do not have any issues with slip-on shoes but these have no flexibility. I love how they look but I returned them.
