I'm sure this would have been a wonderful boot but I have a slightly high arch & could not get this on my foot. It may have helped if the tongue of the boot wasn't attached on the sides & I may have been able to open the boot a little bit more. Needless to say I had to return it.

Size issue is a pain for the customer. Instead of having people order a size or even 1.5 sizes down, why not adjust your sizes so they are accurate? You've been making these for 100 years, when does the time seem right to correct the improper size chart? What's the point of selling a size 6 shoe that's really a 7.5? It makes no sense. My daughter wears a 6.5 and really wanted these boots. Bean doesn't make these in a 5.5 or even a 5 (which is actually a 6 or 6.5) so we got the size 6 and they're huge. Bean, please stop putting the onus on the customer to calculate and estimate what size they need. Fix the sizing error and please offer them in smaller sizes. No woman with a foot smaller than 7.5 can wear your smallest boot. Ok, done venting. Sheesh!

I purchased these for my daughter for Christmas. It suggested ordering a size down so I did and they were to small, you can't order half sizes. The boot it's self is very stiff. They would be a great boot if only used for very wet terrain, but for anything else they are stiff and unlined. The tongue is sewn all the way up to the top so you can't loosen the boot, however it would be great if you need them to be water proof!

I had always wanted Bean Boots. I live in Florida, and we do have our share of rainy days. I ordered a size down as recommended. I normally wear a 7, and ordered a 6, the smallest women's size. I have had these boots a number of years now (since 2014) and have tried so hard to love them. The fit is almost perfect. The problem is the heel construction of the boot. It bulges and causes my heel to slip, even with thick wool boot socks. I've only worn them about 3 or 4 times. But each time I'd hoped miraculously they'd fit. I'm disappointed that I spent this kind of money and didn't remedy the situation sooner. Plus mine are black/black, a color that is no longer offered. Is it too late to return them?

I ordered a half size down as opposed to 1.5 sizes down so that I could wear these with thick socks. Even though the boots were at least an inch too long, the bend is so tight I could barely pull them on with normal socks or even bare feet. I cannot argue with the quality materials and workmanship, but I do not want to wrestle with my boots every morning. Back they go.

Do not order a size down if ordering a wide size, did not fit, not enough room. A size up was a good fit. Comfortable for walking the dog and hikes.

I bought these for my college daughter. She wears a 6.5 women. These boots were too big and uncomfortable to wear around all day even with thick socks. They need a Women's size 5 and 5.5. Moving on to a different brand:(

I really wanted to love these boots. I returned them due to two reasons. Exceptionally difficult to get foot into and uncomfortable around the ankles and area where top of the boot meets the leg. Perhaps once the boots get really worn in everything might soften up. For me, it was just easier to return and look for a more comfortable boot.

I bought these boots over a year ago but only recently began using them. They are super cute on, definitely waterproof and traction on the soles is great for slippery/snowy weather. But, the top part is making my shins sore, so much so that I took a break from wearing them. Per other reviews, they are also hard to get on and off. Perhaps both issues are a function of the all in one tongue. In any case, my sore shins prevent me from recommending these.

These shoes will last me for a long time! I have had them for about a year!! Super cute and fit great water or snow never can sneak in. But they are very hard to get on and I blistered my hand trying to get them on, my finger burns and stings. Other than that I love these shoes, it's a bummer they are hard to get on.

I have been waiting a very long time to get these boots. They were on back order for most of last year!! I really wanted the lined ones but continue to be on backorder! I decided I couldn't wait any longer so I ordered these. Needless to say I wished I would have waited. They are very big without the lining and and are lunky. The reviews said they would need to be worn with extra socks so that is how I wear them. They are very stiff and will need time to break them in. I did not want to go through the hassle of sending them back and waiting for the others one so I kept them.

Ordered the wrong size the first time around, ordered a 9 and it felt more like a 10. Then I sent in my order to do an exchange, and they charged me another $119 for the boots that they we're sending me. When I finally received my new boots from the exchange, they fit exactly like the ones I originally ordered. The shoe is very long for its size even with a thick sock. As I unwrapped them, I noticed scuff marks all over the boots. There was a long scratch on the toe of the left boot and what looks like water marks or some sort on the leather of both shoes. Really disappointing after waiting this long and spending that much on a pair of boots.

The right boot must have been done wrong, because it blistered my ankle and the glue on the inside flap has already come undone after two wears. The left boot is perfect, though.

Just purchased my first pair of L.L. Bean boots. Consulted with customer service before ordering to be sure about sizing. Boots fit perfect, but I do not like the tongue. It makes no sense that the tongue is sewn into the inside of the boot....makes it hard to get on and is all bunched up instead of laying flat. A big disappointment, as the boots are so well made. Can't live with that tongue. Please consider redesigning it.

I have wanted these boots for a long time, and I wanted to love them. However, the leather is so stiff that they hurt my shins, and they are difficult to put on and tie. Also, there is no lining, so my feet stayed cold. They look great, but I can't wear them.

Unfortunately the boots I received were my size but they felt 2 sizes larger than my size on my feet. Definitely size down.

I wanted to love these boots, I really did, but with the way the upper was constructed I couldn't even get my foot into the boot part. The leather was stiff and I couldn't get it out of the way enough to get my foot down into the actual boot even with a shoehorn. It's disappointing. I ordered a wide. They were a nice looking boot.

The opening of the boot is very narrow. If the tongue could be pulled out to get the foot into the boot they'd be great

Sizing bad. There should be half sizes. Its a nice boot but it doesn't fit because I am between sizes.

I bought this shoe specifically after researching different brands because it seems they put a lot of effort into having a quality product. So, I was surprised when I received my shoe and the cuts of leather were uneven, there were loose threads in the stitching, the leather seemed to be peeling away from the rubber bottom, and the eyelets looked tarnished and already starting to rust. Honestly very disappointed in this shoe.

The toe box was fine for my wider foot because I have bunions, but since I also have thin ankles and legs, that made the tongue very bulky, with many folds, which in turn made it hard to tie the boot, and uncomfortable to wear.

These boots are very stiff and are styled small around the ankle. I ordered a size smaller as directed and the foot size was accurate. I returned because they were so stiff. I did not get a refund, only a gift card. I was disappointed in the boots and the lack of refund.

It runs big and my feet kept slipping out. Putting in an insole helped but it felt bulky walking around in it
