I usually wear a 9 1/2 but in these I ordered an 8 after reading review recommendations. They are long enough, but just barely. I usually wear a medium but in these I ordered the narrow and they fit fine. My complaint is that they still flop off my heel, even after tightening the leather strings, and they sometimes make a rather 'embarrassing' noise. I wear a medium sock (thick socks make them too short). I bought these to wear outside but have discovered that the rubber sole makes them very comfortable for wearing while in the kitchen cooking - I have hard ceramic tile floor. And, no need to worry about cooking drips and spills on them. I need lots of arch support and these seem to provide enough. Overall pretty comfortable! Can't understand why the sizing is so off though. I would recommend for outdoors and for standing on hard surfaces as well, with the adjustment for sizing taken in to consideration. If I ordered again I might try a 9 to see if with a thick sock they would work, since there is no insulation, toes get a little cold if I'm outside for long.

The fit guidance for these is very accurate - my size hovers around a 10.5, and originally I ordered a size 10 in these. I was really walking out of them (more like flopping out!), so I ordered the size 9s.I don't often wear thick socks, so this fit actually works well for me. They are very comfortable, and I like the slip on styling. I have the taller, lined, lace up Bean boots which I love for intense winter weather & outdoor activities, but these are more practical for everyday wear. Highly recommend!

Great slip ons when I need to go in and out often They slip on and off easily keeping my floors clean. Everyone in our house has a pair and the floor upkeep has really improved. I did not give them a 5 because they a little wide in the heal for me. Tightening the laces only made the moc harder to slip on and didn't help the heal.

I had to return for a pair 2 sizes smaller!! Now with the right size I love them . . . great to slip on and off quickly for outside tasks. Soles have good traction.

Read the reviews about sizing before you order!!! I didn't see them until after, and wished i had read them. I have wide feet, and was hesitant to get a regular based on experience. They are not kidding - these run very large. Even after downsizing, i will still need the thick socks to avoid floppy shoes. I got the blue - they are great for fall and winter - in retrospect i wish i had gotten the taller version, but they are great for rainy days and when leaves or slush are in your path. I put another set of insoles on top to get a better fit, but am sure i will be wearing these on my commute most of the winter.

I purchased a 9 W I returned it and purchased an 8 W, still too large so I will wear a heavy sock with them.

I have been wanting this shoe for some time now but just never pulled the trigger. Not sure why I waited this long. The shoes are perfect for walking in the wet, windy, rainy fall weather in western Pennsylvania. They are warm and appear to be basically indestructible. I have worn them to the store, to walk the dogs, and to football games. And I wear them to work to walk from parking lot to office to save on my heels. With a comfy pair of socks, they fit the bill.
Please take heed in the size. I wear an 8 1/2 and my first order was an 8. They were huge. I was skeptical but ordered the 7 and they fit perfect. Can't wait to wear them for years and years.

These are really nice shoes; very good construction. Made in the USA. I love keeping Americans employeed which is why I am purchasing more and more LLBean. Unfortunately, I purchased an 8. I normally wear an 8.5, so I thought with very thick socks these would be fine. I sent these back and ordered a size 7. I would have offered 5 stars, but the sizing is way off.

I wear an 81/2 to 9 shoe and almost always buy a 9 boot. These were very large even with heavy sock. Even if I pulled the ties tight the heel was so deep the edges hit my ankle bones. I would have to add an insert to control the size and raise my foot up enough to prevent bruising. I returned the moccasins. Having said that, the moccasins are beautifully made and of high quality.

I bought these last winter when I just couldn't take lacing up/taking off boots to walk the dog one minute longer. In NYC there's very little snow on the sidewalks but tons of salt all winter long that ruins regular shoes. The duck shoes are ideal for those conditions. As other reviewers have noted, these run big and in the past I have ordered and returned these because of that problem. Now that they are available in narrow, they actually stay on my feet. For reference, I normally wear an 8.5. or 8 medium, and I wear a 7AA (narrow) in the duck shoe. Too tight for a thick sock, but a regular wool sock works fine. Love having a slip on/off outdoor shoe for winter.

I usually wear a size 8 bought a size 7 and it fits fine. I wear a heavy wool sock with the moc. We have had a lot of rain this spring, and the mocs are great for walking the dog, and working in the garden. Good quality.

Ordered these for myself. Needed Gardening shoes.A little stiff and larger than I thought. I went down a whole size and wear heavy socks but, still a little too big. I do like the fact that I can slip them on for any kind of walking through the garden and the like. These are made to last. Fine craftsmanship as all of LLBeans products are made.

The suggested size was so large - I wear a 7.5 always...ended up waiting months for a size 6 - which fits fine...was disappointed to see the mocs (in certain colors) were on sale - I would have been just as happy with the sale colors and, of course, the sale price too!!! Hope the soles will last as long as my last pair - a good 20 years!!! Do miss the style of that many years ago too...but, sure I'll enjoy my new ones. The reason for 4 stars is because of the rawhide lace - would prefer previous slip-on cuff style.

Even with 2 pairs of ragg socks, I walk out of these. Tried sole and heel pads too. Why don't they make a smaller size? I'm a ladies 6. They are the perfect dog walking shoe, for walking through wet grass, or on a beach trail. I have to return both pairs as I can't walk in them with this much slop in the fit. Very upset to lose them. PLEASE MAKE IN SMALL SIZES (4-5).

I've wanted a pair of these ever since retiring a pair from another vendor that I'd worn for 20 years. I usually wait until an item goes on sale or there is an emailed discount promotion, but seeing how quickly these were disappearing I decided I better not wait any longer. I wear a 9 1/2 and the size 8 fits well with heavy socks. The first day I wore them I had on medium weight socks and could feel the edge of the shoes pressing into my arches. I also didn't like the feature of the heel slipping up and down. That seems like a blister waiting to happen. For that reason I'm giving them a 4 instead of 5. With heavier wool socks on they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I especially like the arch support and being able to adjust the fit with the tie. I really wanted the black ones but they were long gone, so I went with the old school brown/tan combo.

This is a good 'slip on' bad weather shoe. The size recommendations were spot on. I would normally order a 10W in LLB sneakers, so I dropped to a 9 but could not get the color I wanted unless I dropped to a M width. VERY glad I did as they are still very roomy. I do wish they were maybe a bit taller like a Chukka style but I would not want to give up the slip on ease. Maybe taller style would keep me from walking out of them with every step. They are also not made to wear indoors (like I did to work one day) as the rubber made my feet sweaty and therefore cold on the way home. Otherwise an ok investment.

I normally wear a 61/2 women shoe when I ordered these I thought that maybe they would be true to size but they ran larger. I had to order a size smaller and got the narrow width. Now they are perfect!

These boots run large. I wear a 9 shoe. I bought the 8M and literally walked out of them. Exchanged for the 8N. They now fit fine, but only with thick socks. Yet, I really like them.
I don't recommend writing comments...all nicknames appear to be taken!

I am very happy with this purchase. I was glad to have read prior reviews warning of the large sizing. I purchased a 6 N (I normally wear a 6.5 M)--be aware these run VERY large! The laces are very long and do help with the adjustment of the width. The shoes are made to be worn with heavier socks. Very happy so far that I did order the smaller size. I know they will be great in the wet spring weather! They are made very well.

I have the navy and fuchsia. I caught sight of myself in the mirror with them on and smiled. pink soles! I ordered the size 8, I normally wear a size 9 med in everything. so it is right to size down, as long as I wear thinner socks. I put an extra insole in them but it made the shoe feel too tight. the rubber part just wipes clean, nice! I put LL Bean boot dressing on the leather part. I was a little cautious about comfort for any length of time, but they are ok!

I needed waterproof, easy off, easy on shoes and these fit the bill! My shoe size is usually a 10.5. I ordered size 9 M and they are just right. I tried wearing them on a very cold day with thick wool socks. My toes were cold. I think they will be most useful in spring, summer and fall. I am very happy with the solid brown look. They are very well made.

Good basic moccasin for wet weather. The fit is a bit odd. It is basically wider than usual, especially in the heel. It can be tightened up across the top of the instep using the laces; however, leather laces loosen readily even when double knotted. I imagine this will change as they get older but when the shoes are new it is annoying. I wear them to walk the dogs on all terrain. I still use my lace up Bean boots that I got in 1971 but it is very nice to have slip ons that accomplish almost the same purpose.
