My regular shoe size is an 8.5M or a 9 for boots. I normally purchase the size 8M in the hunting boot style since it gives me more room for a thicker sock. I initially ordered the size 7M in this shoe and it did fit in terms of length but the heel slippage was uncomfortable and I could not move my foot forward in the shoe because it was too narrow. I've never worn a wide shoe in my life but decided to try a 7Wide in hopes that I could wear them more comfortably like a Dansko professional clog where your heel is supposed to rock when you walk without hitting the back of the shoe. This actually worked! However, the right shoe feels slightly more narrow than the left. I measured the width/circumference of my feet, measured the shoes and I can't decide if there is a manufacturing variation or if it's my foot that is to blame. The left shoe feels more roomy in the toe box and instep. So, I took the insoles out of both and replaced them with my thinner Merrell ortholites and now they fit better with better heel coverage as well. maybe the cushy Bean insole ( which I love) is just too thick for this style of shoe. Keep in mind that I don't mind wearing them like Danskos with my heel rocking. It doesn't pull my sock off either and I'm wearing cotton ragg socks. Given the hassle of trying to get them to fit, I cannot recommend these to anyone unless they can purchase them from a store where they can try them on first. LL Bean closed their store near me so, I didn't have that option but, if you are willing to try them and are a medium width, I would recommend trying the wide width in the size that Bean recommends. Bean's customer service was very helpful as usual- thanks!

I love the colors these come in now, but the fit is bad. I read the suggestions and ordered the size down. The length was not the problem. The heel is very wide even in the narrow width. I had to return these.

I love this type of shoe/boot. It's perfect for wet, muddy conditions. However, I've tried several of these styles and had to send them back. The moccasin style is too wide in the heel. The styles where the taller leather top is stitched to the rubber bottom, I found the way it was stitched on caused the seam edge to rub and cut into my ankle right under my anklebone. I'm hoping LLBean will come up with a better way to attach the leather and rubber - I'd still like to find a comfortable pair!

Wish that you offered these great colorful shoes in a wide width. I would buy one of every color. These just fit with a thin sock so I will hang on to them.

The size 10's were too big for my size 11 foot. Quality,of course, was good, but fit was a problem.

I got these rubber mocs in Navy/Sun, was disappointed in the "sun", looked like a beautiful pastel yellow on my kindle fire hd, but actually looked more like bright yellow to me. Too bright for my taste. But they were very comfortable otherwise. I wear a 6.5 or sometimes a 7 medium normally, but I knew they ran big so ordered size 6 med. They were pretty large, but I wore them with my thick warm weather socks and they worked better, but still a little large. The heel slipped a little but not uncomfortably so. That is why I gave them only 3 stars. If the color and fit were better I would have given them 5 stars.

These are great in rain and light snow, but they are a bit heavy. I prefer the light-weight skimmers.

Ordered the teal/black pair and they are very cute. Unfortunately, the sizing runs very large...I wear a 9 to 9.5 and the size 9 shoes just flopped on my feet...tried a pair of insoles but the length was still too long and slipped on my ankle...sending them back and will try an 8...darn it.

First of all, I LOVE LL.Bean! These shoes, by previous reviews on the website were said to be large, so I ordered one size one size down, when I received them they were huge on me, reorderer the next size down, heal still wide and instep tight. These were not for me or my foot, but loved the look of the boot, wanted to keep, but I wont wear ill fitting shoes. Full refund, sorry I could not keep them!

I'm still not sure about these. I wish they came in 1/2 sizes.I still may send them back. I don't like the way the tongue fits with the show.

I so wanted these to work out, but even though I ordered a size smaller, they were just too loose. I felt like I was going to walk out of them.

I wanted a pair of these for our rainy days in California. I am originally from Maine and know these would be great here in California during our seasonal rains.
I had to send them back as they run very large. I ordered a size 7, which I usually wear, but they were way toooo big. Maybe a size 6 1/2 would have been better.

I TAKE A 7 1/2 WIDE I ORDERED THIS BOOT 3 TIMES IN A SMALLER SIDE AND WIDE, AND HAD TO SEND THEM BACK EACH TIME. I AM SENDING ANOTHER PAIR BACK. I AM ORDERING ANOTHER PAIR SIZE 6 NARROW, IF THIS PAIR DOES NOT FIT I AM GOING TO STOP TRYING TO BUY A PAIR THAT FITS. THESE BOOTS ARE SO NICE TO SLIP ON WHEN GOING OUTSIDE TO DO SOMETHING. MY OLD PAIR, JUST GOT WORN DOWN ON THE SIDES SO MUCH I HAVE A HARD TIME WALKING IN THEM

I've been wanting a pair of these for a long time and with the rainy weather we've been having I decided to finally order them. The quality of these mocs seems excellent and I have no doubt they would last a very long time. Unfortunately I'm sending them back because of the odd fit. After reading the sizing comments and instructions, I ordered a full size down. I'm always a perfect size 8 and got the 7s. The length was just right. But as I walk, the shoes slip off my heel with every step. Not safe, and not comfortable. Also, I ordered the sun/navy and don't like the "sun" color at all. The photo online appears more of a natural color, but in reality it's a much brighter yellow. I'm disappointed.

Ordered a size smaller than I wear as reviews suggest. My usual size is a 7 W. I ordered a 6M. Just a hair short with arch a little off but heel still slips a little. Love the boots but fit could be better.

I was hoping for any easy to slip on shoe that had all the wonderful characteristics as the boots. It was really easy to slip on, and then off. Too easy, I couldn't keep them on! I bought the correct size as suggested, but the shoe was extremely wide with a medium thickness sock on and I easily stepped out of it when walking.

These rubber mocs are cute and made very well, however, because they run large I had to order a size 6 wide. Whenever I have to order up or down from my usual size 7 wide, the arch never hits in the correct place. These mocs are no exception. On me they are very uncomfortable and even in wide, my pinky toe is pinched. Because I like the style and quality so well, I'll reorder in a size up and hope they fit more comfortably.

I have 2 pairs of 8" bean boots and absolutely love them. I liked the look of these mocs, but the sizing is way off. I normally wear a size 9-9.5 and got an 8 in the regular 8" bean boots because those do run large. That fits perfectly. However, I found I had to size down to a 7 for these mocs and they still fit strangely - they feel too small because the arch is in the wrong place, yet my heels still slip out of the back when I walk! My feet are on the wider side, so it's not a problem with the shoes being too wide. I think the quality of these shoes is great and they are attractive, but I just couldn't find a size that fits me as well as the other bean boots I've purchased recently.

My feet were always soaked by the second setting of the lawn sprinklers. These boots kept my feet dry, which is a very nice change. However, I'm glad I'll only be wearing them once a week for about 8-10 hours.
I wear size 12 shoes and, following the site's advice, ordered the size 11. The toebox has plenty of room, and by tightening the laces I can keep them on my feet. There is about 1/4" to 3/8" of extra width at each side of my heel and at the back of my heel. This is in spite of wearing bulky athletic socks.
They've not been used enough to determine durability or value. I can't call them truly comfortable, but will keep them as they do keep my feet dry.

I normally wear a size 8.5 to 9. I went with the size 8 and still have an extra inch between my heel and the back of the shoe. Be sure to order WAY down in size. The quality of the boot is perfect, so will try a 7 and see if that works.

I am only giving these 3 stars because the real test for me is long term durability....If they last 4 years....it will get a solid 5!
I purchased these to wear to the barn, they are good looking enough to wear to the store, casual outing with friends and to dinner.
I was disappointed, however, when I received them that they were way too big. I wear a 7M in the slipper, so I assumed it would be the same. My feet were swimming in these.
I have sent them back waiting for the exchange. My last shoes similiar to these (but another brand) last about 2 years....hoping to get longer out of these!

Taking the recommendation of the other reviewers, I ordered a size 7 (my normal is 8.5). They fit perfectly. They are fairly comfortable, but rubs just under my outside ankles when walking on any path that is not flat. Would love a little padding in it too. But all-in-all, I just wanted something to quickly slide on to walk my dog on wet/rainy days or to work in the yard. I would certainly recommend them.

I am normally a size 6 and 1/2 in shoes. I ordered the size 6, but they didn't even come close to fitting. I guess you need to order one and one-half sizes down from your typical shoe size. Unfortunately for me and others like me, LLBean's sizing makes it impossible to get boots or shoes from them. I would need a size 5 in these and the smallest Bean's has is a size 6! This is disappointing because I love these rubber mocs! Please LL Bean, do consider making them in smaller sizes.

great shoes, I really wanted a pair, but I couldn't get a pair to fit properly. I wear a 9.5 to a 10 normally, so I tried to go with a size 8. The toes were tight but they fit well everywhere else. I then tried the next size up, a 9, and they fit in the toe area, but my foot kept coming out of the shoe because it was so big everywhere else! I really think a half size would have done it, but it is not offered. Bummer.
