Just not loving these. That's not a reflection on the quality of construction-- they're very well-made. But, for my foot, these don't work well. (So, I'll describe my foot and if this sounds familiar, I'd recommend going with the Bean boot.) I have a medium-to-narrow foot with a high arch and high instep. If you have issues getting your foot into tall boots, you know what I mean. That's actually why I purchased these-- traditional rain boots were very difficult for me to get on and off. These shoes actually are quite low across the instep also. With socks, they're bearable, but by the end of the day, the top of my foot will have a red impression of the shoe (obviously, I don't wear them very often for this reason). Also, they are very stiff and the heel is quite uncomfortable. I know some people love these, but I think it's a matter of "works well for some." Personally, I'd rather not order a shoe online if I'm not pretty sure it's going to be comfortable for most people. Regarding size, I'm normally an 8.5 and ordered an 8, and they fit fine lengthwise and width.

These shoes are way bigger than my 30 year old pair that I still own. They are made very well but I am sending them back and not reordering. I do not want to keep paying shipping for an item that may or may not fit with the next size I try and possibly have to try again. I'm very disappointed as I am a long time customer and will have to look elsewhere for these shoes. To be fair the old ones are a half size smaller in the picture but the new ones are definitely larger and wider. I feel like I'm walking around in my daddy's shoes.

I have a pair of Bean boots, and ordered these in the same size, they were FAR too big. I exchanged them for a size smaller and while the length works, my heel slides out of them when I walk. I am SO disappointed as I LOVE the boots, and wanted a great slip on winter-weather shoe that was the same excellent quality.

I really wanted to love these shoes! I own two other pairs of bean boots and wanted something I could slip on that would be good in the winter (better than the crocs I normally wear). I got these at the outlet store for a great price, tried them on with my normal socks and they fit well. I should have walked around in them because as soon as I got home and tried to wear them, my foot would not stay in the shoes! The toe box is tight as it is so going down in size so my feet wont slip out is not an option. After reading other reviews I see that this is a common issue and I hope that in the future LL Bean can address it. Until then, I sadly have to send them back. Other than sizing and fit, the quality is top notch!

LLBean Boots, rubber mocs: I wanted to love these, but sent them back twice in two different sizes. I normally wear a 7.5 so ordered a 7. Way too big. Returned them and exchanged for a 6. That was the right length but just didn't fit right and rubbed on the heel. Had to send back for a refund.

I love these "duck shoes". They are exactly what I was looking for in a rain shoe for Spring/Summer; however, they are HUGE! I wear a 7.5 and ordered a 6 based on the reviews of this shoe. I thought surely a 6 would be small enough. That is not the case at all. It slips on and off my foot. Unfortunately, I am returning them.

I found you could not adjust the shoe to fit and it is wider and bigger. I did order down (smallest size made in this) but still too big.. But other than that I love them. I am ordering different ones ..

I so wanted these to work! I ordered my regular size the first time (didn't see the note to order one size down). Way too big. So I re-ordered them one size smaller. Still a good half size too big. Great quality, but the size is so off standard that I think it would be hard to get a good fit.

I ordered my regular size so I could wear heavy socks with them. However, even after wearing the socks and putting in a liner they still slide off my heel. I'm not very happy about that. I wish I would have gotten a pair that tied. Now I'll have these forever because they are so well made they will never wear out!!!

If LLBean acknowledges that these shows are sized too large, and it is suggested by multiple comments that they are sized too large, why not just size them correctly and prevent having to send them back, like I had to do?

I like these rubber boots I ordered, but they definitely run really large. I usually wear an 8 to an 8 1/2 wide shoe/boot and ended up returning mine for a 7 wide and they are still too large/long. The wide width is fine. I would return them again, but will have to pay for shipping a 3rd time which I definitely don't want to do. I found my thickest pair of winter socks which made them wearable so I'll keep them.

I am so disappointed! I have wanted a pair of these for years! I have a medium wide foot size 6 1/2 and after reading they run big ordered a 6 (1/2 size down) and they are HUGH! I tried putting a sole insert in and wearing a winter sock which actually worked for the front of the shoe but I am walking out of the heel - these are a medium and after reading the other reviews it sounds like even the narrow will not work (many reports on heel size being to big even in narrow). I really need a 5 and they don't make them in that size. Too bad because I am an average foot size and LL Bean (which by the way I absolutely LOVE) must be losing a lot of sales on this popular shoe! Sad - sad - sad!!!!

Always wanted the Bean Rubber Moc, and the recent sale made me cave in. Even though reviews stated the heel and shoe were extra wide, I thought I could wear an insole, heavy socks, and adjust the laces. Nope. I just couldn't get the size 6 to fit, although I have a fairly wide size 5 1/2 to 6 foot. So I sent them back. They were well made, however, and uppers contained actual leather. I would recommend to others to try. I have 2 suggestions for design changes: re-design the heel to be a little narrower, and 2) make the tongue somehow fit under the sides so that tightening the laces won't just fold the tongue. Thanks.

I SO wanted to have these Mocs, but due to sizing, it was not meant to be. The length was just as LLBean suggested and I did order one side down. Length was great, but the heel! Oh my......HUGE! I even ordered a Narrow after the medium was so big but alas, the heel was still huge. No way could I keep my foot in and I tried all thicknesses of socks. Sadly, I had to return both pairs.

I really wanted to get these mocs and be able to keep them, but the fit was just not good for my foot. I am normally a 9.5, wide width, and ordered as suggested an 8, regular width, and it fit perfectly everywhere but the back heel, which was too wide and one 15 minute walk in them with moderately thick socks caused the beginnings of blisters. After a chat with customer service, I determined that trading for a narrow width would not work, and sizing down would not work as I had just enough room in the front of the shoe and with wider feet, going narrow would not have worked for the front of the shoe. They were snug everywhere but the heel in the size 8, regular width. Had to send them back, sadly. Looking for a replacement slip on/rain type of shoe. Seemed to be well made, the navy/tan I got was great looking, and I almost considered keeping them and trying to make them work, but I won't keep a shoe that doesn't fit. Disappointing. I think LLbean has enough people with fit issues with this moc they might consider re-working the sizing so more people can fit them. All in all, a letdown. However, dealing with company, so far (awaiting refund) has been easy and pain-free on returns.

So disappointing. I followed the sizing guidelines and these were still too big. And even with heavy socks my heel slipped like crazy. These are not the same rubber mocs my mom had (and I used to steal from her). These are going back.

Had to return my size 7, sadly. I wear 8 1/2 & ordered according to recommendations. One toe on rt foot is longer than big toe which touched the shoe. Other than that, the size 7 could have been ok. I could have lived with that but it was the loose heel that was too much of a risk. Boy, did it slip as I walked. That is why I would not recommend it to a friend. I was really disappointed because that was the style of sole and moc that I wanted & can't find anywhere else. All others have thick soles. Perfect style/perfect sole.

I had to return. I normally wear size 6 1/2 or 7. I ordered a 6 and they were huge. Sadly there isn't a smaller size in this shoe.

I wanted to love these but am sending them back. I needed some rain shoes to pop on for trips to the mail box or dog-walking and thought these would be perfect- cute and functional. But, even though I did size down a full size, they are still too big, especially in the heel- the shape of the heel is really uncomfortable, too, I can feel it rubbing with every step. And, these suckers are heavy. All of this means that they are just not comfortable to wear. Darn it!

I took other's advice and ordered these a size smaller. I'm normally a solid size 7 - ordered a 6. They are still a little big, even with thick socks. The tie doesn't seem to help much. They seem nice, but why can't they be sized properly? I'm still not sure if I'll keep them. Also, I'd like to see these in black.

The shoes were awesome!! I really wanted to keep them. I am normally a size 7 - ordered a size 6 - needed a 5 or 51/2 which they do not make. I am very disappointed. I ordered these in November, got them in March and couldn't keep them.

Ordered a pair of these for my college-student daughter. She normally wears 7 medium shoes, but having been warned that these "run large", I ordered 6M. She was excited when the shoes arrived, but quickly realized that they were far too large. She asked if she could exchange them the next smaller size. When I told her that this was Bean's smallest size in this shoe . . . she cried.

This is my second order for the rubber mocs and this time I must admit that I am disappointed in the fit. The reviews written prior are totally correct in that you need to order a size down and even with that the heels are so big that the shoe continually flops when you walk. I bought Dr. Scholl's inserts and it helps some, but not on the heels. I don't know why, but I thought the shoe was Sherpa lined which would help with the fit and warmth. I bought them for this rainy Virginia weather and since I have worn them I will not return them. Maybe I will find some kind of insert to use that will help with the heel issue. Otherwise I will continue to try and improve the fit.

I have an average, generally easy to fit foot. Typically, I can grab any size/brand 7.5 M shoe, and I'm good to go. I have ordered three different combinations of size and width of this moc and have sent all three of them back. I know sizing is a known issue; perhaps it's time for LLBean to address it. Love the color and style of this shoe but don't want to try a 4th pair since return shipping is paid by the purchaser. Sadly, the third time was not the charm in my case.

These shoes run very big compared to other LLBean shoes. My husband wears a size 7 Men's shoe. I ordered the size 7 in the Men's shoe. It was huge. we ended up ordering a size 7 in a women's shoe. I wear a size 8 1/2 in women's shoes and the size 7 fit. So order smaller.
