I wear a size 8 1/2, and initially ordered an 8 as I wanted to wear bulky socks with the shoes, but that was way too large. Went into the store to return and tried on size 7 and they were still too large. I don't know why they cannot get the sizing correct on these shoes, makes no sense to me. Chose a different pair of shoes to replace them.

I love these mocs but they are darn near impossible to fit correctly. I normally wear at 10- 10.5 wide. I ordered these in a 10 wide and I couldn't keep them on my feet with mid weight socks. Returned them for a 9 and they were way too short and were snug in the width. I had to return these too. I was disappointed because I have been wanting these for a several years now and couldn't find a pair to fit. I also do not like that LLbean charges for return shipping.

I have a narrow foot and there was no way to make the laces tighter. The heel did not come up high enough and was too big. I walked right out of these mocs. I did order one size smaller as advised.

I originally purchased a size 8. It was way too large and exchanged it for a size 7. It is still too large...even with three pairs of socks on. Not worth paying for shipping to return it again. Very disappointed.

I think I am going to have to return these. The right boot doesn't fit properly. It hits my ankle bone(?) the one that sticks out on side of the foot, and it is very uncomfortable. Several years ago I had these same boots and this was never a problem so I think it may be some kind of a defect.

Received these as a gift. I normally wear a 9.5 - but in LL Bean duck boots, I wear an 8. (So that's what the giver bought for me.) I own the Chelsea duck boots and the 8 is perfect with plenty of wiggle room in mid weight socks. Unfortunately, the mocs in the same size do not fit as well as the boots. They are quite snug even with thin socks. I'm sure a 9 would drown me (based on LL Bean guidelines and customer reviews) - but the 8 is too snug... Since they were a gift and the box was tossed, I'm stuck with them. Disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any consistency of sizing in the whole line of duck boots/mocs.

The wide fit like a snow shoe...way too wide. Returned and didn't get notification for two weeks. Still haven't received the replacement

Really wanted these because I love my LL Bean boots which fit great size 9 right out of the box. These I also ordered in size 9 and were way too big. They said return for size 8. The 8 was too small. These are not true to size at all. Wish they fit like the boot. Sent them back. Too bad.

I wear a measured 9 1/2, and I had to return 2 pairs, down to a size 8 and they still didn't fit. Didn't want to keep doing that so just asked for a refund. The shoes were very well made, I'm disappointed they don't fit me well.

I got a size 9W when I usually wear a 10 wide. The shoe fit like a glove... until I walked. What most people say is true, the back of my foot slipped out immediately. The back of the heel is just too darn big. So I sent it back and got a non wide shoe and the shoe was way too tight but also, my heel still slipped out so much so that I would have fallen out of these shoes. I'm so disappointed, I've been wanting a bean moc forever and i'm sad that they make them the way they do. The shoes are amazing, the heel is ridiculously big.

I ordered this moccasin after the same style in limestone and teal sold out. I followed the size guidelines, however, the size I ordered was too big and too wide (even with medium weight socks). Ultimately, I found the shoe unflattering, so I exchanged them for another style. This moc is functional, well-made and durable, I just prefer a different style.

It runs very big. You should offer 1/2 sizes

It was to big. I wear an 8 1/2 so had to order a 9. Even with two pair of socks was still to big.

This is a review of bean boots in general. If someone with a size 8 foot has to purchase a 6, what will a size 6 foot buy? Please consider making smaller Boots, Gumshoes and Mocs for smaller feet, we want to wear bean boots too. Not all adult women want to purchase kid boots in kid colors. Thank you.

I actually really love this shoe, but the sizing is impossible, as many other reviewers have noted. They run large and wide. This makes them comfortable to slip on and off, but not ideal for walking any distance. My normal shoe size is between 7.5 and 8, regular width. I sized down to the 7 and it felt way too big. I tried the 7 narrow, but the narrow does not apply to the heel part of the shoe, which is the widest part. I tried a size 6, which felt much better, but were just a little too small in the toe. So I went back to the 7 and kept them. I have a good half inch of more of room, but they will be good with thick socks. Ideally I would be a perfect 6.5--LL Bean really should make half sizes to improve fit.

I have purchased 2 different pairs of rubber mocs. The first pair I bought was a perfect fit, the second pair was a bit larger and this recent pair that I purchased were HUGE! They were for men, not women. I had to send them back. Very disappointed as I love this shoes. I then purchased the yellow jellies which weighed a ton! Sent those back to. LL BEan ended up charging me $20 in returns for shoes that were too bag or too heavy. NOT happy with LL Bean.

I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered a size smaller because they run large, but they were still too big. I have decided to exchange them for the next smaller size down and see if they will fit. This would mean size 7 the usual size I wear down to a size 5. We will see after I try those on if the fit and quality are worth the price.

good for others, not for me. these are well made & i really need them but...my heels are narrow & even when i cinched up the rawhide ties as tight as i could & wore thick socks, my heels came up out of them with every step which means blisters just waiting to be born. sadly, they are going back. people with normal-width feet will probably have no trouble.

These are nice enough shoes. However beware, they run VERY large. I wear a size perfect size 8. After ordering a size 7 because I'd read they run big, I had to return them and order a size 6! The 6's are slightly snug; I cannot wear them all day long. I'd add that these shoes do not come in half sizes. Surely LL Bean can look and see that they receive a lot of returns of these shoes because of the sizing and work to resolve this issue?

I own a lot of different L.L. BEAN boots and a variety of different items. Everything is exceptional. I'm really disappointed in my rubber Mocs. The insole is pulling away from the padding. I just bought these shoes in November and didn't wear them until January. I've not even worn them a dozen times. I will be inquiring about this flaw.

I wear a size 7 shoe. I ordered the size 6 as reviews claimed they run big. The size 6 was so big I couldn't keep them on my feet. Six was the smallest they'd go so I gave up. I would only recommend these for those with bigger feet. They probably are great if you can get your size. I ended up getting the stormchasers and am so glad I did, those are so much better.

I wear a women's 7.5 and I purchased a 6. The shoe fits fine in the toes and arch. The heel is way too wide. Even after tightening the laces my heel flops out. I should have taken the advice of the other reviews that mentioned the wide heal. These are going to be returned.

I don't know why Bean changed the blue color. I have a pair of older Mocs and they are a beautiful flat almost royal blue now Bean makes a shiny really dark navy blue it actually looks black. Oh how I wish they'd go back to the almost royal flat blue. Well when it comes to the size my foot measures a 9 1/2 and in sneakers I'm a 10 also most shoes and boots I take a 10. Well the size 8 Mocs fit me perfectly. So FYI really order down! If you like how size 10 shoes feel order a 8.

I was really excited to get these shoes, because I wanted something for the rain in the summer and something I could just slip on to take the dog out quickly. While I actually love the look and the feel of the shoes while they are on, there are a few noticeable inconveniences for me. First, they are not easy to put on and take off. Since they are a little wide, I tend to have to tighten the straps, which means I cannot simply pull the off and quickly put them on. Second, I do not like the laces, because they easily come undone. Finally, my heel slips out of the back (which is so weird to me since it's so hard to get the rest of my foot out of the shoe when it's tied). This is something I read about in another review, and thought "maybe that person simply bought a size too large since they run a little big." I am quite certain I bought the right size, and my heel slips out as I walk, which inevitably makes my socks slip down. While there are inconveniences to me, I still use them to walk the dog and to walk to work on occasion. If these issues were fixed, I would wear these shoes everywhere because they are cute and very convenient for the water without wearing boots!
