I loved this shoe and really wished it had fit but the wide was too narrow for me. Please make x wide and half sizes after 10

In spite of the problem with the sizing of these mocs (even when ordering 1 size down), the problem is with the lacing. On the 18-year old version of this shoe, which I am seeking to replace, there were 3 sets of eyelets with a lace that could be pulled and tied. Unlike the present version which is essentially a slip-on, the old version enabled the wearer to get a good fit by pulling and tying the lace, where it was designed to be tied, high on the ankle. How do I know? I tried my old version on without lacing it, as if it were a slip-on, and realized that the old sole is the same size (length and width) as the new one. The heel area allows for just as much play. I soooooo want these new shoes to work that I tried tying them. But the new design is not designed to be adjusted this way. If one pulls hard on the faux-suede laces, they will eventually break. Plus, where the bow is tied is not functionally effective. So, I am very reluctantly returning my new purchase, which is excellent except in the way I described. I have gone into detail because many reviewers think that the problem is with the sole. I wonder if LL Bean is aware of this problem, and if they could bring back the old eyelet style. If am a long-time devoted customer, and have complete confidence in the company.

Not sure why these boots can't be manufactured according to standard sizing. I wear an 8.5 shoe but ordered a size 7 based on reviews. They are still too big and my heel comes out when I walk. appear to be well made but unfortunately the odd sizing will prevent me from wearing them. Don't want to exchange for a size 6 because concerned they would be too small. Would then incur 2 return shipping charges.

I have had my original kilty rubber mocs for about 10 years and it was time for a replacement. I normally wear a size 9 but had to order these in an 8 because the sizing is too large. (I am not sure why they would size them the way they did and tell you to order down, but they did). The Mocs are cut much wider than usual in the heel and I wish I had not worn them outside before realizing that. I had also purchased them in the limited black version and the 7" Chelsea boot, and as much as I like them as well, I will be returning them because even with socks my feet slop around in the too much to be comfortable. It's a shame because I really loved how well my original ones fit. Still, a decent moc and hopefully they will last 10 years.

I could not get my foot in. On one of the boots because of the tongue. When I fixed it by hand , it still was an issue. The laces are the worst. They never stay secure.

Well made, but extremely large and heel is very wide. Will not stay on foot when walking, even with heavy sock. I wear a size 7 1/2.Wide. I ordered a size 7 W and this moc is equal to a size 8 or 81/2.W.

I bought these to slip on when I go out to feed the birds. I wanted something to keep my feed dry in light snow & rain. They did that but were just too wide to stay on my feet. Safely I had to return them.

Wanted to love these--super stylish and generally fit well except for heel area. This design is flawed--none of the shoes/boots in my wardrobe, rubber or otherwise, have a heel area that is not nipped in--an uploaded photo on another review clearly shows the heel area nearly as wide as the front of the shoe. Even with the recommended midweight boot socks, my heel bounced around when walking. I don't want to have to make any modifications or buy some kind of insert to make these work--please go back to your original patterns, this is not the same shoe I purchased years ago.

The Rubber Moc is great to the eye but the heel was too wide even though I had ordered a narrow width. I probably could have found a simple fix for that but decided to return the shoes instead.

I normally wear a size 8 sneaker, so ordered a size 7. It was too big. I went to the main store in Freeport, ME, tried on a size 6 which were too tight. Sales person suggested maybe a 7 in narrow, But they were out of stock so couldn't try. Unfortunately I ended up returning them. I loved them and the quality - just not the fit.

My husband ordered the size 11M for me for Christmas. The length was a little long but not bad; however they fell off my feet. Way too wide. I sent them back and ordered 11N. They were still too wide. I swear they were the same width as the 11M. So, I sent those back and ordered a 10N. They were too short and the width was perfect. I give up. I really liked these shoes and wanted to make them work. They need a 1/2 size and I don't think each size is the same as it says. I have always had good luck with LLBean and will continue buying from them, but disapointed I couldn't make this shoe work for me.

These did not fit well at all. I had a pair for about 15 years that finally fell apart...These were made much cheaper and just didn't fit well.

These are nice quality shoes but they are wide and since they do not have ties, they are impossible keep on if you have normal width feet. I may try a narrow shoe for the first time in my life because I really want these to work.

This is a really good shoe and one that I chose over two other competitors. However, the shoe is huge in both length and width. In addition it only comes in whole sizes. It is supposed to be made on a woman's last but obviously it isn't. I read several reviews before I ordered and actually went down a size thinking it would fit. It didn't! I can't even think about how to advise you if you are planning to buy this shoe. Sadly I had to send them back and order one of the others I had considered originally

I have always liked the quality of LLBean however my recent purchase was a disappointment. I ordered two pair, one for my self and one for a friend for Christmas. Both in a size 9, one blue one brown. Upon arrival, both were too large and one was a 9 and other a size 10. Wrong items. Bad fit. Disappointing. Shoes were heavier than I was expecting as well. I will order again, probably full boot instead of Mocs and order one size small than I normally wear.

I have a high arch and narrow heel. This causes issues. It's hard to get on, but slips off my heel as I walk. I tried getting heel inserts but they didn't help and my socks stuck to them really bad.

I was so excited when I realized this shoe came in a Narrow. I was also heartbroken that I had to send it back. It fit great at the ball of my foot, but the heel did not seem to be adjusted for a Narrow size. My heel slipped out of the shoe when walking. Would have given it 5 stars and kept it if the heel was also a Narrow. 'LL Bean, please fix this issue

Birthday gift for my wife. She had a pair in college when I first met her. Now 30 years later size 10s don't fit - too big. Thicker socks ...? We'll go to the store in Pittsburgh and mess around. If only these came in 1/2 sizes, we'd get 9-1/2s and they'd probably be perfect. Question: Did "Bean" sell these in "1/2 sizes" 30 years ago ? Or did she have 9's back then and now her feet are bigger ?

As other reviewers have noted, the heel width of these boots does not match the toe width - it's way too loose. If Bean is using the same measurements for its current product as they did 100 years ago, was the original model for men? This one certainly isn't made for a woman's narrow foot! (I usually wear size 8, but did take the advice of others and ordered a 7; length is fine)

I was surprised to see, as I usually wear a 7 1/2 shoe size, that a size 6 wide actually fit for length. However, the width of the shoe, and I ordered a wide, was not wide at all. I returned them. These shoes are truly odd sizing.

I so wanted to love these but no matter what I did, changed size up, size down, medium , wide width in each size nothing worked. They just pinched too much in the instep and flopped too much in back when you walked. The idea of these boots is fantastic but the sizing and comfort of the instep has to be redesigned. I so wanted a slip on boot from LLBean. I still love my shearling lined Bean boots though!!

I love the shoe however even though I wear a size 6 they're too big, my heel comes out of the shoe. I tried putting gel insoles in and they're still big and with the insole a little uncomfortable on the sides and tops of my toes. I'm going to try to return them for a store credit to purchase another shoe.
