Went to the LLBean store yesterday to look at some boots in advance of the coming snowstorm. The local LLBean store in Skokie had my size in the 8" goretex thinsulate. Tried them on and they fit perfectly. Extremely comfortable and easy to walk in, unlike my now replaced boots. The next day snowstorm in Chicago. I was out walking the dog wearing my boots and stepped into a pothole on the street that was covered by snow and ice. Foot sank up to above my ankle (thanks Chicago). Boots kept my feet completely dry and warm. I kept walking for another mile or so before I returned home. My feet stayed completely dry and warm the entire time. I will absolutely buy these boots again when these wear out in about 100 years. Very well made! Will definitely recommend these to everyone!

Very Well Made! Prompt shipping! Great Customer Service! Have only been able to wear these a couple of days but our winter will be starting soon! Good Traction on icy parking lots and sidewalks! The Gore-Tex makes them very breathable, so driving for 5 hours in a vehicle your feet stay warm and dry but not hot! I wanted to buy last winter but I didn't want to wait the two months at the time (the waiting list grows going into winter, so I ordered this fall and they came very promptly. Well worth the wait!!!

I have always wanted a pair of these boots my only regret is I Waited way to long to purchase them. They are not only very comfortable to wear they do What they are designed to do keep feet warm and dry When it's either raining or walking in many inches of snow.

Bean Boots are an absolute must have for the Autumn/Winter months. I've spent my entire 35 years on Earth here in New England and I can't imagine wearing another boot when it comes to shoveling the driveway, going out to the woodshed to get firewood, etc. They have been a staple in my winter wardrobe for 20+ years now and I'll never wear anything else. Be sure to get sized up by your supplier. I normally wear a size 10 sneaker, but a size 9 with my Bean Boots (8" Gore-Tex) I hope this review finds you well and I hope you enjoy your Bean Boots as much as we do. Cheers

Never ask a hack for a review. Bear with me a minute. . . . My 18 yr old Bean shearling zip-front boots sit proud but beat, rejected beside the crock where I bag the trash. I've left them there next to the stove for weeks because I can't bear loosing 'em. Wife hasn't said anything yet. She knows I'm not so good at change. They've been back to Freeport several times over a decade and a half, but they're shot inside and out now and need puttin' down this time. They still know my feet best so I wear 'em like slippers in the cabin. Believe me when I say, two people living in a cabin together for 35 years can be a mite stressful. But tell the truth you guys, everybody misses their old boots and their best dog! Been wearing Bean Boots since '56 but I just can't recall the sensation of slipping on a brand new pair of 8" Bean Boots! You can't really lace 'em snug enough for a year or so, 'til they learn what you do and expect. They feel a bit confused when you change socks from October cotton to February Merano. Next year they'll be ready to go, but right now they're stiff 'n' shiney, like most new things. But they're gonna hold my feet warm, dry and steady in snow, slush and claymuck and shale maybe 7 months a year and my feet hold up all the rest. Gotta admire a boot like that! Gonna miss 'em 18 years from now. So hang that last storm, check the sills again before snow, get more lamp oil and dry your boots on the beam tonight.. . . Here we go again, thanks for the new boots. Miss those long white stairs, OldRoad

I've wanted a pair of Bean boots for as long as I can remember. It doesn't snow a lot in our area but we do get a lot of rain, sleet, and ice. I believe I'll get a lot of use out of these boots this winter. I normally wear a size 11-11.5D shoe so I ordered a size 11D according to the size chart. With thick hiking socks the fit was a tad tight at the widest part of my foot. I called Customer Service to schedule a quick exchange and ordered a pair in 11EE and they arrived 1 day earlier than promised. Perfect fit! I've been wearing these boots around the house and they have already loosened up and are very comfortable and warm with the Thinsulate lining. Plus, I got the replacement pair for 20% off with Bean's current sale. Don't wonder, just get 'em!

I have been wanting to buy a pair of these boots for some time and with a November tailgate approaching I decided to finally order them. I followed the sizing guide and ordered one full size down (I normally wear a 13 so I ordered a size 12). I originally ordered the thinsulate option however I didn't realize that in that version the thinsulate is only in the bottom of the boot. The upper leather has no lining. The size 12 was too big. I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. So I got online and ordered a size 11 with the Gore-Tex lining. They arrived in a few days and fit perfectly with a normal sock and have room to spare for thicker socks. I love the Gore-Tex lining too. I have only worn these boot once but it was a long day at the tailgate and game and they kept my feet warm and they were pretty comfortable considering they were new and not broken in. I love the boots and would highly recommend them. Just realize that they mean what they say in the sizing guide.

Wanted these boots for a long time. The unlined version was not gonna work for me in New England's nasty weather. The Gore Tex Thinsulate liner was the game changer. These boots are wicked awesome!! Got them in my same shoe size and wear heavyweight wool blend socks and they fit great!! An American original, worth every penny, proud to own them. Thanks LL Bean. You are the best!!

I just ordered these Bean Boots because I was sick of having wet feet and these did the job. I don't have to worry about ever having wet or uncomfortable feet in these and they are really warm and look great.

I bought a pair of these on sale after reading all of the glowing reviews online. I opted for the more expensive Gore-Tex and Thinsulate model and am glad I did as I won't only wear these in the rain - I'll also gladly use them in the winter. They fit true to size (I went 1/2 down and they might be a bit snug with thicker socks) and are easy on/off. You can really tell the craftsmanship of these boot from the laces and I'm sure they will last for many, many years. They're a bit pricey, but well worth every penny.

Boots size run aliitle larger which is good for insulated socks use. Boots well made, stitching and finish look an great. 8 inch is perfect for everyday all day wearing. I like the insulation for colder weather.

This is my second pair of bean boots. I felt that the traditional insulated pair was not warm enough for midwestern winters. The goretex insulation is very warm, enough that I probably won't need wool socks with them too often. Additionally, the leather uppers are a little more sturdy than my previous pair. Very happy.

These were purchased as a gift for my nephew, who will be starting his MA program this fall "up north" at Cornell. He's from SC, so those winters will come as a shock, haha! LL Bean has the best rep when it comes to fashionable, functional cold-weather gear. In spite of some reviews that advised going a full size down, I ordered only a half size down. He wears a size 10.5M, I ordered a size 10M. With medium weight boot socks on, the fit was perfect, both in length and width. He couldn't be more pleased. Only time will tell how well they hold up, but Bean's guarantee goes a long way to assuage any doubts when purchasing a pricey item like these.

Have been wanting to buy a pair of these boots for many years. Although they aren't cheap by any stretch they should last for many years and I'm fairly hard on boots. Love to fish and hunt and so far these boots are comfortable and keep my feet bone dry. Really like ease of putting the boots on and taking off. Recommend reading sizing instructions closely when ordering. Also... I normally wear a size medium shoe but had to send original pair back and re-order a wide size. Great quality!

I've had Bean boots for decades and couldn't love them any more than I do. A great product - and well worth the price. LL Bean stands behind all of their self-branded items. It's one of the best reasons to shop at LL Bean - whether online, via catalog, or in a store.

I purchased these boots for by boyfriend last year without the thinsulate. He loved them so much that I ordered a new pair this year for colder temperatures. His are special order since size 11EE, but it is worth the wait! He works outside and wears these boots everyday! Thank you for making a GREAT boot!

Best winter boot, ever. Period. Usually wear a 10, ordered a 9. Were a tiny bit snug, but wore them for a good long walk, and they loosened up, and now fit like a glove. I only wear thin socks with them, think wool or thick socks would be a bit too much.

These are just as expected, and the waterproofing and thinsulate make a big difference. I'm usually a solid size 11, sometimes wide. But I ordered a size 10 in these and they fit perfectly. I wish they had some more color choices for men, but these are classic so not much to complain about.

Followed LLB sizing instructions and though I have an extremely narrow foot, the boots fit perfectly. I had to wait several weeks for the boots due to ordering around Christmas time, but well worth the wait. The boots are very attractive...cannot wait to get them all muddy.

I had purchased the non-gor-tex boot about a year ago, and realized I had made a mistake. I contacted customer support and they helped me navigate an exchange to order the the gor-tex lined Bean Boot. The boots are great and provide the warmth need while walking to the train during my commute.

I usually wear a men's US 7.5 D (EU 41) and ordered a 7 D in the Bean Boots. The Gore-Tex/Thinsulate lining makes for a snugger fit in the toe width, but the Bean Boots in a 7 D were the right size for me. The boots are comfortable and keep my feet incredibly warm. Would absolutely recommend to another person interested in purchasing.

I've heard about these boots for years, and finally decided it was time to get some good rain boots. I've only had them a couple of weeks, but so far they are awesome. I live in Georgia and I got the 8'' with Thinsulate and GoreTex. I was a little concerned they might be too warm, but so far they've been fine, and from what I hear LL Bean will pretty much switch them out if at any point in time you decide they aren't what you want, they wear out, or you need a different size. Glad to have joined the club!

This iconic pair of boots is the foundation of L..L.Bean, and for good reason. They are the most durable article of clothing I have owned; I returned a pair and received a new pair only due to the fact that the boots were far too large for my feet now; went from a size 11 W to a 10. Normal shoe size is 10.5, and half a size down fits wonderfully.
