What's to say that hasn't already been said, LLBean boots are simply the best.

The boot is well made of quality parts. My only exception, is that I expected the lining to be thicker. I have however not had a chance to wear the boots in very cold weather.

Classic Bean Boot! Great for a winter boot but also comfortable for fall and spring. Get too warm for a summer rain boot, though. Durable construction that stands up to walking around town or trecking thru the woods.

Really like the boots! Do wish there was half sizes. The store didn't have the exact ones I wanted but, I really like the ones I bought.

I wear 8.5 on normal shoes. Order a size 7 unlined before but they were too small and the leather felt really rough while walking. So I exchanged them to a size 8 with Gore-Tex/Thinsulate and they feel very comfortable right out of box. It's a keeper for sure this time.

I bought these for cold weather here in Colorado (I walk my golden retriever George twice a day) so I wear them with thick, wool socks. I was told to order one size smaller but with the thick, wool socks they fit perfect. I really like buying boots made in the US and Bean is a well respected brand. I just bought a pair for my wife for Christmas as well!

Finally found a Boot that fits. Theses boots are excellent. Follow the sizing recommendations From LL Bean. I have narrow feet and with the Bean Boot socks which are excellent also the boots fit great. I was kind of thinking that they would be to small going by their recommendation since I usually wear a 8 and a half. I ordered the 8 and there is plenty of room even with the heavy boot sock. These boots and socks are a 10.

I wear my bean boots everyday to work outdoors, at least 8 hours per day. The support is very good. Love having dry feet! Very little break-in period. I wear a 10 in most shoes; wish I would have ordered a 9 1/2, but it is not so big as to get blisters. If you wear hunting style socks, order your regular size.

Ordered these last Friday. Paid $15 extra for quick shipping. Was told they would be here on Wednesday. At my surprise they arrived on Monday. Wow! Have spoken with customer service, they were more than helpful. I will be ordering more, real soon. Best service I've ever received on ordering on line. The boots are wonderful. I wear normally a size 10 to 10 1/2, ordered the size 9 wide. Absolutely perfect. I have a friend that has the same boots, has worn them for 14 years. "Great Job" LL BEAN.

I've always been a fan of the classic bean boot. I decided to go with the 8" boot fully lined. It's a full multi-purpose boot. I can wear on my commute into the office, casually with jeans if the weather calls for it or I can throw them on for errands or chores around the house. They're super warm and great for keeping your feet warm or keeping them dry in bad weather. Worth the money as the quality is clearly shown the moment you put them on.

My only concern was the fit and I ordered my regular shoe size and they fit perfectly with medium weight socks. First hunting trip with them a couple of weeks ago on a rainy day and my feet were warm and dry. No problem with breaking them in or anything. EXTREMELY happy with my purchase and highly recommend them!!!

I've had this boot for nearly 3 weeks now. Tried it wearing it around the house for a few days first and when I was convinced that the fit and comfort were good, I took it for a test drive in one of NYC's March snowstorms and have worn it multiple times in wintry rain and snow since. Comfortable walking around, easy on/easy off, excellent fit and most importantly, keeps my tootsies warm and dry during less than ideal conditions, either rain or snow. Just another L.L. Bean boot living up to L.L. Bean quality. What more could you ask for?

The boots are the best. Shoe size is as advertised. Easier to put on than the taller boots ( I have those also).

Sizing: I wear a size 9 shoe and sneaker. The proper fit in Goretex Thinsulate Bean boot is 8 Wide, and I can wear it with bare feet or medium sock. Thick sock tight. The proper fit for unlined or Thinsulate Bean boot for me is 8 Medium.
Lining: The Thinsulate only model is lined only in the rubber bottom, not inside the leather upper and tongue. The Thinsulate Goretex model is lined with both materials in the rubber bottom AND inside the leather upper & the tongue; factor this in when looking at pricing. Also, notice that the Thinsulate Goretex model is the only one that has a leather piping along the tongue rather than just the cut leather edge. Some complain that their Liner pulls out when the pull the boot on and off; I have not experienced this at all.
Goretex: I asked a Bean salesperson why Goretex if boots already guaranteed waterproof? Answer: double protection. I don't plan any solo trips to middle of nowhere, but I still bought the Goretex Thinsulate model just to get full lining and piping.
Lacing: The 6" model has two less lace holes than the 8" model; I bought the 8" model and end the laces two from top to slip on, if inclement weather, I can lace to top.
Warmth: Haven't tested fully yet, but definitely warmer than unlined...even in bare feet in 68F room temp, they get uncomfortably warm.
Study carefully the photos looking down into the Bean boots you're considering to see lining and tongue. Love the classic Bean boots. Hope this helped.

Love them. I wear an 11 so bought a 10. Had to return first pair for a wide due to the goretex/thinsulate lining. Otherwise the fit would have been perfect. I would rather have the extra warmth so getting the wide worked perfectly and gave me the extra room needed to accommodate the extra insulation these boots have. Very warm and keep feet dry.

I tried on a ton of different boots with many different types of lining, but I am extremely happy with the Goretex lined boots because they are versatile to really cold/snowy days (when I can throw on wool socks and not overheat) and as well as rainy days.

I was amazed how comfortable these boots are. They didn't need to be broken in and I wore them daily for 6 days during our Southern blizzard. They were warm and waterproof. I thought I would need a narrow width but with heavy socks the D width fit just fine. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and highly recommend these boots.

I have owned various forms of L.L. Bean boots over the decades, and will continue to do so, as each pair wears out, which typically takes a long while. They have always kept my feet dry.
The traction on these boots are excellent in the rain, snow, and ice. The boots go on very easily and they are comfortable and look cool.
The warmth is fine for most cases in the winter of NYC, but when the temperature drops below 20, I go with my other warmer boots, and in the summer, I go with the regular non-insulated L.L. Bean boots, when it rains.

I can't remember when I bought my "duck" boots but at least 20 years ago. Mine were size 10m. My son wanted a pair a few years ago and he wanted size 11. He wore them but liked my size 10 better so he took them off to college. Soles a little worn out but still good. So I bought myself a new identical pair size 10. They were really narrow. I think they would have eventually packed out but I getting older and perhaps my feet have gotten wider but I sent them back for a 10w. Fit perfectly and after a few weeks maybe have gotten a little loose but I love them.

Picked these up 2 days ago at the local ll bean store as we are expecting 8-12" snow tomorrow. I usually wear a size 10 but a size 9 with light to mid weight socks fits perfect. I've worn them almost non stop the 2 days I've had them and they are very comfortable. Only downside is they are very warm, so they are really made for cold winters, they would be to hot in late spring early fall. In retrospect, I wish I would have bought the regular bean boot and just worn lighter or thicker socks depending on the weather to be able to wear them more, but they are so comfortable I don't mind keeping these for the cold New England weather and buying the standard bean boot for warmer weather!

Got them for Christmas, went for a walk yesterday for a 2 mile walk through 3" of snow. Good traction, and my feet stayed toasty warm with tube socks on a 7 degree day.

My son started to wear my husband's Gore-Tex LLBean 8" Boots! He loved them so much I ordered him a pair. They are very warm, true to size. He wears a 10-10 1/2 shoe size...I ordered him a 10 and they fit perfectly, even with a thick pair of hunting socks.

Cannot day enough good stuff about my boots! The perfect combo is my bean boots, my bean boot socks, and boot guard wax. Boots passed first test as I had to sit in the stands during a football game where the temps were in the low to mid 40's and got an inch of rain during the game.

Absolutely wonderful product. Please note: I typically wear a size 12. I ordered size 11 last year as the cold weather was ending. Wore them this year for about a week. When they broke in, they were far too large. LLBean has an amazing return policy and they provided me a brand new pair of size 10. Writing this review for two reasons: 1. These boots are off very high quality and are backed with an incredible satisfaction guarantee. 2. Order TWO sizes down. You will thank me!
