Trying to replace same boot as I have had for years. After 3 exchanges still not able to get a fit that is comfortable. Went to store trying to find a good fit without success. This style not made to same pattern as older boot in same style. Disappointed that this is my second experience of replacing long wearing footwear with new that isn't satisfactory fit.

Was excited to get these for my husband...but had to return them twice....and we decided against purchasing them. LLBean has excellent quality...and VERY helpful associates! It was the sizing that was the problem. My husband usually wears 12 - 13. After reading the reviews, we ordered an 11... too big all over! So, we reordered them in a 10...and they were too short, yet big in the heel. Sad we couldn't find a size that fit! (Being charged $6.95 to return .... even for an exchange...is a little disappointing!)

We really wanted to love these boots. My husband and I each have an old pair with the shearling lining and the soles are worn down and cannot be replaced like the 10" tall boots can. Initially, I ordered a pair for myself, but they were too big in the heal. This year they came out with a narrow, so I ordered again. Still too big. But my husband has wide feet. So I ordered these for my husband in a medium and they were just too loose in the heal. So I ordered a size down and in a narrow for my husband and they are just too wide in the heal. He almost walked out of them. Additionally, please add some soft inside lining to the shoe as hitting the front of the shoe (you tend to slide forward) really hurts. Sorry, LL Bean. We love, love, love your stuff and are faithful customers...but the shoes need to be lined and sized accordingly. I will say that Customer Service is excellent and they are very happy to take back returns. With the LL Bean charge, return costs are free to buyer. But I think if you just re-designed the shoe and sized it appropriately, you would sell many more, have fewer returns, happier customers and make more money!

I wear a size 13 shoe normally. Saw on the website that these run large so I ordered a 12.
Way too big. Exchanged for an 11. Still too big. I love LLBean products but this was frustrating.

Run large. I usually wear an 11, so ordered 10.5 and still too big. In addition the "tongue" makes it difficult to slip on.

I am sorry, but these are clown shoes. Too big by TWO sizes, too wife, horrible design, and hard as a rock. I truly can't believe these came from Bean. I am the worlds biggest fan, but products like these need to go.

Run really big. I ordered a 9. My usual size and had to return as I was swimming in them. Then I could get a correct size in stock

These are not true to size. According to your sizing recommendations if I wear a size 10 Keen these should be a size 10. But they are way too big. More like a size 11. Even rag socks couldn't fill the space. I like the shoe and the quality, but the size is not right.

I've been wearing these since the 70's. My most recent pair fell apart in two years. No change in how I treated them. The stitching rotted. Nd came apart. I used to get three to four years out of them and even had one pair resiled. Whatever happens happened after the unconditional guarantee thing ended. They are inexpensive now like 59.00. I see why. Not buying again. Sad to say a staple since the 70s is no longer suitable. Thanks. It was a good run. Best wishes.

Shoes are way too long for me. Returned the size 14 for size 13 after advice from llbean staff and still too long, even though I wear 13.5 sizes. Will return these also and maybe NOT get another size. Just too much trouble for me.

Not a good fit, too narrow and felt like the shoes were falling off my foot with every step taken. Construction wise was made well. Returning for refund less shipping costs, which is unacceptable as far as customer service is concerned.

This has to be the heaviest pair of shoes I have ever owned, I like the look and quality but I'm not sure how often I will wear them due to how heavy they are.

It is very to roll your ankle in these. I wear them a lot around the house.
But have to be very careful walking outside if the ground is at all uneven.
The leather lace broke,so they can't be tightened.
Also, they are difficult to tie, because the leather laces
are stiff.
The heel is narrow, and also, it wears out more quickly than it should .
Would not get these again

I read many of the reviews and thought I would be okay with them, but unfortunately, not. They were too big, even though I downsized as suggested in many reviews. I was hoping with thick socks they would work. I even bought spacers to put in my heel area, but they were still a sloppy fit. The main reason for the low rating though, is the flap over the instep is so soft, you can't slip into these. Even with a shoehorn, I usually had to dig the flap out. Also, the "shoestring" provided are so stiff, even double knotted they would not stay tied. After much consideration, they have to go back. I think this is the first time I ever sent something back that I had used for a while.

I wear a size 11. I have $300 shoes that fit perfectly at size 11. I bought these Rubber Mocs at size 11 and they were HUGE. Sent them back, paid postage to send them back and got size 10. THey are HUGE!! I give up. Just will not buy again.

I ordered a smaller size, as recommended by the listing. The Moc fit will as far as length and width however, my heal kept slipping up out of the heal cup when I walked. The only solution was to tighten the laces. However, based on the width of the tongue, it bunched up when I tightened the laces to the point where the wrinkles created even more discomfort. I had two options: first, to try to modify the tongue by cutting it, or two, returning them, which is what I did. Too bad, I was looking forward to taking them on the RV trip I am currently on.
I also take exception to the policy of providing a gift card for the entire amount of the purchase. I bought the Mocs with a $100 gift card plus cash. Now I have an even bigger gift card and L.L. Bean is sitting on all of this money. If I purchase something else that exceeds the value of my current gift card and return it, the amount of money L.L. Bean gets to sit on gets even larger and I am out the cash I have paid over and above the cost of the original gift card. This just doesn't seem fair.

Why would you make a shoe 2 sizes too big? Too much of a hassle to try and find the right fit online.

I normally take a 10 1/2 shoe so I ordered a 10. They were WAY to big so I returned for a size 9, still a little to big as they are a little loose when i walk but I'm afraid a 8 will be to small

Sizing is tough to match up properly. Way too heavy as a spring/summer rain/mud shoe.

I had poor luck with these mocs; your mileage may vary. After slightly more than 2 years of occasional use, the stitching failed on the left heel, making them pretty much unwearable, I had expected to get more use out of these. In their defense, Bean offered to repair them for a $50 dollar charge. I think that might have been a case of throwing good money after bad, so I declined.
