The heal area is too wide. The size is fine in the front half, but seems to be the same as a medium width in the rear half. The result is that my heal slips up and down with each step like wearing flip-flops. I understand these are not made to fit tightly like a shoe that laces up, but the heal area is far too big for a narrow width shoe. Nothing I've bought from L.L.Bean in the last few years seems to be of the high quality they used to be known for. The biggest problem seems to be in the size and fit of items. I've had to return more items than I've kept.

I sent mine back to get laces, the lady was having a bad day i guess. They would not send me a lace or re lace. Said they were "unsafe" to wear. I use them in my garden. I live in the south, no snow, no ice... What has become of LLBean, they became big brother. I was willing to pay for the work and laces. Most bizarre phone call ever.. It took them 1 month to tell me they could not lace,, by the way , they have laces in them now, just broke at the tongue... she was not very nice... They were 3 years old...

I bought these rubber mocs so I could step outside in snowy, slushy, mucky weather without lacing up my boots. They work, but just barely--not because they aren't well-made, but because they aren't available in my size, 7 1/2. I got size 8 narrow, but they were still too loose-fitting. Adding a pair of drugstore insoles help, but the size just isn't right. That's too bad, because your 7 1/2 medium Bean Boots fit so well. So, yes, I'd recommend this product to others, if their feet are in whole sizes.

It needs to have shearling lined like the boots. They used to come that way. Shoe is rough on feet without the fur lining. Or you can make it special order. Thanks

I like the shoes but they are difficult to keep on your feet. When you pull the laces to make them tighter on your feet, the laces really hurt the top of your feet.

Very well made boot but I ordered a size 10, I wear a 9 1/2 with heavy socks, still to big, I then got a 9 tired with medium socks, fit was to small and did not fit right... this boot will be good for the right person, sorry to say not me... I have been an LL Bean customer for many years, most products have been excellent... I will remain a customer...

I bought these for myself twice a few years ago, and for my husband this year. Both were too small, or too big. Had to return them. The construction was good! There sizing has NEVER been good!! A Woman's 6 1/2 foot was to big for a 6 and to small for a 7...need a half size!!

I would LOVE this mocs, except - they're too big! I usually wear 10s, sometimes 9 1/2 So I ordered size 9. I was worried because 9 1/2 also fits me in a few shoes, that 9 would be too big. The fit was ok when I got them in December, but they've loosened up and are too sloppy. I WISHED I could have ordered 8 1/2. I figured size 8 would be waaay too small (Most of my shoes and boots are 10s!) And I am not happy with the fit after a few months of wear. Not looking to hike or take long walks, but they're just too loose.

I want to love these but after returning them for a smaller size, they are STILL too big. I would recommend going two sizes down if you want a comfortable snug fit. Now I'm wearing shoes that are too big because I don't feel like returning them another time.

Looked like good quality. First order too big. Exchanged for a full size smaller.....still too big. Unfortunately had to return for refund instead of chancing getting 2 sizes smaller and not fitting.

Since this shoe is made in the USA, why doesn't it come in true sizes. All clothing and shoes should have standard sizing. In 2019 this shouldn't be so hard! Your note on the Web says it is oversize and to drop down one size. I actually came down from 11.5 to 10 and it is still too large. The width runs narrow. Not happy!

I have these and absolutely love them - ordered these for my husband and they were WAY to big (and he normally wears a size 15 narrow). They're a great shoe but he couldn't use them.

Even following the instructions to order 1 size down didn't work. With 2 pair of socks it helped the slipping in the heel but then it crammed the toes. Just no way to make it stay on your foot and still be comfortable.

I bought a size 8 for my father, who wears a size 9 shoe, but they were too big. I exchanged them for a size 7, which is the smallest men's size LL Bean makes, but they were still too big. I returned them and will buy him something else. If you are thinking of buying these, don't be afraid to go small! My Opinion About Sizing: It would be nice if the sizes of the LL Bean boots and mocs were consistent with regular shoe sizes.

The size is correct for my foot but even with heavy cotton socks I can't tie the laces tight enough to make it not feel likes the shoe is about to come off. It doesn't bother me on short walks but for long walks it is annoying. I wish I'd purchased a higher cut above my ankles.

I bought these as a gift for my husband. He usually wears a 101/2 but by reading reviews I knew they ran a size to big. I purchased the 9 they were too small. I purchased the 10 they were to big. He needed a 91/2 which would have been perfect, but LLBean does not make 1/2 sizes in this product. So I decided to try the 10 narrow which were much better but still a bit too long, I put a non-slip padding in the back of the shoe and with the proper sox it worked well. So I hope this help a future purchaser who wears 1/2 sizes. These are great for the rain and snow.

Husband has wanted low boots to slip on for late dog walk. Unfortunately theses were returned because they were still way too wide for him.

Just like the previous pair I bought but too narrow. Still, slip off when walking, yet very uncomfortable. I returned and got payment back but not bean bucks and 10% discount. I would like my Bean Bucks and 105 discount back to put toward future purchases.

I like the shoe but the sizing is a challenge. I have a normal size 13 shoe. I bought size 12 it was still too large. I exchanged it for an 11 which is still a little large, but 10 is too small. The issue with the shoe design is there is not pocket for the heel of the foot. The back of the shoe is straight up and down there is no curve to hold the heel of your foot. So as you walk your heel rides up and down very easily. I have to be careful to not walk right out of the shoe.

This is my third rubber Moc purchased and it seems that they are getting cheaper in material and workmanship, they do not seem to have as much padding as the old ones and rub the top of my right foot.

I tried 2 different styles of rubber boots, bought 1.5 sizes down and they were still too big...I quit trying because of the cost to return them, and the hassle to get the UPS cost credited back. Don't buy unless you are at the store to try them on! I love the style and just tossed my original pair because the rubber finally started cracking...they were very old! I recommended them because i know the quality is good if you can find a store to try them first...

Thought the shoe would have a different type of tie, it would not stay on my foot. I ordered size 10 although I wear 11, since I have a pair of the boots, which I Love to wear, and I order them one size down. These are not your regular moccasins, the tie, for the closure would not work for me.

purchased these for my husband--he's wanted a pair for years. The sizing was way off. He takes a 10.5 in every other shoe. In these, size 9M was too long--feels like he is walking out of the shoes. Size 8 is too short and makes his toes numb. He loves the shoes and they meet his needs otherwise. He decided to keep the 9 because he really likes them, but is compromising on fit which will limit their use. Bean customer service was excellent in working with us to try to find the right fit, but that is not convenient via mail order. Wish they came in half sizes. bummer.
