I purchased these because I did not have a good pair of boot for the winter. I have not used them yet in the snow but have worn them around the house to "break them in". Very confortable, and no blisters. After wearing them for a total of about 16 hours they are getting where I would say they "getting broken in". Thus far I would recommend these boots.

I am a skeptic but I reluctantly believed in the instruction of ordering a size down, and I am glad I did. I wear a 10 and I ordered a 9, and it's still a little big. Otherwise, great pair of boots.

I am very impressed with these boots. This was my first pair of Bean Boots and it defiantly wont be my last. The quality and attention to detail in these boots are remarkable.

Just received my boots and they fit like I figured after reading reviews. I wear an 11.5, ordered an 11. They are sized for mid to heavy weight socks like work boots should be. If I wanted to wear lightweight hiking socks I would order a 10. But for outdoor work in rain or snow, fall/winter/spring, A lightweight sock paired with a midweight sock works perfect. Or I could buy heavyweight socks and wear those alone. But I was brought up to wear two sets of socks in winter for best cold weather performance. People just need to understand this.

After 27 years of good service, it was time to replace my Bean's Boots with a new pair. Aside from the name change from "Maine Hunting Boots" to "L.L. Bean Boots," the new pair is the same great boot I bought 27 years ago. And, still made in Maine by Americans who take pride in what they do. Amazing in this age when cheaper and cheaper is the byword of so many things. One thing is missing from the product description: these boots come with a removable insole. That's good news for people like me who need to use a more supportive orthotic insole. I was living in the northeast when I bought my first pair but have been in Northern California for 20 years now. These boots are just as useful in California: in our wet winters or for walks along the beach (only kids and dogs run into our 50 degree NorCal ocean water).

Always wanted a pair but never got around to buying, but when I was taking a trip to Lake Tahoe, I ordered them. Living in the south, I had to order the ones that did not have insulation so I could actually use them back home. I wore these with the camp socks from L.L.Bean and they worked perfect in the snow! Kept my feet warm and dry. Very stylish too! Highly recommend. I do normally wear a size 12 in every other shoe, but I ordered an 11 and it fit perfectly.

These boots are the final word in everything, from functionality to style to comfort to quality. I wear these boots a fairly ridiculous amount, and they stand up to everything I put them through with ease. While they are at their absolute peak in cold and/or rainy weather, they have also more than held their own on the dock, the boat, the trail, and at work. In short, they're pretty much perfect. Buy them, they will never disappoint. As is always stated, at least one size down depending on how you will be wearing them.

These are the first boots I have purchased from LL Bean. The boots arrived well packaged. The boots were as advertised. These are high quality boots and feel great. One of the main reasons for the purchase was to support what LL Bean stands for as a family owned business. Keep up the great work.

Bean boots are a classic and one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Normally an 8.5, but L.L. Bean's size chart pointed me to a size 7. It fits perfectly!

My son wanted some rain boots and I heard these were the best. He loves them and wears them very often! I got a wide and they are a bit wide for him and I could've used regular I think.

Bought these boots for my husband. We live in Georgia and usually have mild winters. We have a daughter who plays lacrosse and sometimes the weather is wet and cold - these boots are perfect for those times. I also bought him the Bean Boot Socks - he loves the boots and socks!

I am very excited to have my first pair of Bean Boots. I am usually out in the cold but I still ordered the standard version without insulation. These boots still keep me warm and dry with some wool socks or are cool enough when I wear thin socks. I wear these when I go fishing and they give me a little more access since I don't have to worry about wet feet. These are some amazing boots.

I ordered these boots in December 2016, but I didn't know how popular they were. They were back ordered and I received them in mid-February 2017. It was worth the wait because these are great boots. I wanted to order the wine color leather with black rubber sole, but at the time, there was no schedule for production, so I went with the traditional tan leather with brown rubber sole. A couple of weeks prior to me receiving my boots, I was at my local LL Bean store I noticed that they did have the wine with black boot. After receiving my boots, I went to the store and asked if I could exchange them for the color combo I wanted. They said of course and I had the boots I wanted. I found out that the wine with black boot had tumbled leather which makes the boot a little more comfortable for me since they are softer from the start and don't need to be broken in so much. I wore them around the house for a week before I started wearing them outside. Call me silly, but they are so nice that I didn't want to get them dirty. But, my wife reminded me that it was why I bought the boots - to keep my feet dry and warm in not optimal weather. They are great to wear in good weather, as well. They do run big, so when you order go down a size. If you have any questions, an LL Bean rep will gladly help you. I am very happy that I got these boots and I highly recommend them to anyone who is considering them. Remember to try and not order them in December or you will have to wait for a couple of months. Lastly, these boots are made in the USAgood for you LL Bean!

There are awesome boots. I wear a 8 1/2 - 9D and ordered a 8. They fit good. I wear smart wool medium weight socks and they are very cushy. The LL Bean boot socks are too thick for my boots that are the unlined version. I wore these boots as a child and had forgot how nice they were.

Great boot for bad weather, hiking, or a night out on the town

I bought these shoes because I wanted a more lightweight option to the North Face boots I have been wearing since moving to Maine. These shoes are fantastic in the snow. They are waterproof, lightweight, and comfortable for a boot. The makers of these boots are great in educating their customers on how to wear their products (i.e. they are made for very, very thick socks and to wear in the extreme snowy conditions). If they are as good as they say on their guarantee, I will definitely be buying more boots like these.

I have a big, wide foot and I ordered the medium width based on other reviews. this boot is wide with plenty of room even for someone that normally wears a 14 wide shoe. I ordered 13 medium and have room for thick socks but they are still comfortable with regular socks.

25 years ago I was right out of school and wearing bright white sneakers with my suit to walk to work in NYC. I came in to work one morning and there was a brand new pair of 6" Bean boots on my chair. The guy next door who was my dad's age had taken pity and decided I looked like a fool and needed proper footwear. He said they were a gift on the condition that I wore dress shoes on nice days, the Bean boots on inclement days and threw out the sneakers. He said they would last forever and after 25 years, the only sign of wear is in the soles, yet they still have years of life ahead of them. Stopping by a Bean store, I decided to pick up a pair of these 8" boots for clearing larger snowfalls and they are as amazing as ever. Incredible quality, do exactly what they are meant to do in an understated, yet oddly stylish way, are US made and built to actually last a lifetime in reality, not just in a marketing tagline. These are the only boots you will ever need to buy in your lifetime and they would be a bargain at 3 times the price. There are few things in life you can say this about. Do not hesitate to buy these.

I purchased this shoe and it was on backorder until 2/27 but I received it WAY before that. There is some snug room but with a light/midweight sock, the boot feels pretty comfortable and still has a little room for a heavier sock. These look great with just about anything; I love the versatility! I am very happy with these boots and hope to be a long-life customer of L.L. Bean!

Great pair of boots! Fits great. I was worried about the width but they are perfect and wider than I thought they would be. Size is a little larger than expected as well. Nice and warm with dress socks.

Just received these boots and they are awesome. Likewise, LL Bean's customer service is second-to-none. However, make sure you follow the sizing guide. I am usually an 11 in sneakers and 10.5 in dress shoes and ordered a 10(way too big). Sent back and just received the size 9 and they fit very well. Can't wait to try these bad boys out!
