I bought these boots as a gift for my fiance's birthday. He has very narrow feet, so I ordered him an 11 Narrow. They fit perfectly! He wears them all the time and insists they are the most comfortable shoes he owns. Previously, he had an off-brand of bean boots, but they wore out quickly and did not fit as well. We are excited about this upcoming fall when he'll get some good use out of them at his family's cabin!

I absolutely love these boots. They keep my feet warm, dry, and never hurt. They lasted my mom for 30 years and she still wears them. I can't wait to have mine forever.

My Grandma got me these for Christmas and I"ve worn them almost every day since. Cool, and fashionable. They do scuff on the rubber a little bit so be cautious, and the leather creases like all leather (but they almost look better that way). Overall great boots.

Yup you guessed it , I'm from the show me state. I received Bean boots for Christmas, after admiring my son inlaws. They were just sitting in the floor leather tops slouched , well worn rubber uppers. I thought if these boots could talk. I wore my new Bean boots through the holidays even on the dance floor on New Years Eve. I work outside every day, my family knows I like quality boots. I want to thank LLBean and the craftsmen who make these boots. I can't wait to wear them out so I can send them in to LLBean for a fair price I hear they will stitch on new rubber uppers. Wow talk about bragging rights. Love my Bean Boots.

I purchased these boots a little over two years ago to combat the winters and rainy springs in the Northeastern U.S. For two years they have been fantastic! They are comfortable, durable, waterproof, warm enough for 20 degree weather (if you wear thick wool boot socks), and I like how they look. And they are made in the USA!
I have worn these boots in the rain, snow, mud, through puddles and small streams. I have hiked through rugged terrain in them, done landscaping and yard work in them and walked many a NYC block in them. All around, they have held up impressively well.
My only complaint is that they sprung a leak this past weekend mid snowstorm! I later confirmed this by placing the dry boot into 2 inches of standing water with a paper towel inside of the boot, and the towel came out wet. I guess two years of abuse finally wore this boot down enough to compromise its waterproofing.
If I can't replace them for free I'm going to buy another pair and keep these for dryer conditions, because they are that good!
Some tips:
1. These run large. I wear a 10.5 shoe usually but bought a size 9 boot and still have plenty of room for thick socks.
2. A memory foam insole will really take these up a notch in comfort.
3. If you want a strictly winter boot, consider getting the taller version of this boot with the lining. It will be warmer and cover your pants better waking through deep snow / slush.
4. Usually, these are plenty warm without the lining if you use thick wool socks. But this past winter when it was in the 5-20 degree range pretty often - they aren't warm enough even with thick socks.

I bought a pair of these boots about 3 years ago after I wore out a pair of Sorel boots. The stitching came undone (my fault because my foot is an 11 EEE width and I ordered the wrong size) . They sent me a brand new pair an extra size wider no questions asked and I did not have the receipt. Who keeps that? . I just threw out a pair of rugged outback made in china boots today because I was splitting wood in 20 degree temperature and kicked a log frozen to the ground and the whole plastic toe shattered into many small pieces. I was going to take them back to walmart but what would they possibly do without the receipt. You get what you pay for. I am going to order another pair from L.L. Bean.

The bean boots seem like the boots of yore so far. I have read there were some qualiy issues such as the heel wearing down rather quickly in their first season of use. I'll be keeping a close eye on them and hope they last me 20 years as my old ones did.
These boots run very large. I wear an 11 and ordered a 10. I still have some room for thicker socks.

Not enough can be said about this boot. It is perfect in the snow (with the appropriate socks) and great in the rain. Keep in mind, it does run small. I normally wear 10 1/2 or 11 shoe and I have a size 9 boot. I kept putting off getting these to get "knock off" ones, but nothing replaces the best.

LL Bean boots are just the best quality boots you can buy. These are to replace a pair for my dad that are over 10 years old. He said he wanted LL Bean and no other brand.

I mean c'mon these things are the best. If you are contemplating getting them, just pull the trigger. I would suggest trying them on as the sizes make very little sense if buying online (just change the sizing numbers to match current sizing??? just a thought), but these things are comfy, waterproof, stylish, and quality craftsmanship!

I purchased these boots about 2 months ago in preparation for a trip to Washington DC in January. L.L. Bean has a good reputation and these boots totally surpassed my expectations. I needed a boot for pretty much all weather and that's exactly what I got. Every morning there was ice on the walkways and I felt confident walking on it. I also purchased the Shearling insoles and Boot socks. My feet were warm in 10 degrees and snow. Being from Louisiana I wanted a boot to wear at home as well. I've worn these boots in 70 degrees and was just as comfortable as I was in 10 degrees just by adjusting the type of socks. These boots are perfect for snow, Ice, cold, rain, and everything in between. I do advise purchasing L.L. Bean Boot Guard to further seal and condition the leather especially after walking in salt. My feet have always been comfortable even when waking miles in them. The shearling insoles make them like slippers. There's no fault I can find as of yet and I get a lot of wear out of these boots. When I take these boots off, I'm wanting to put them right back on. I now love bad weather days thanks to these boots. If wanting the most wear from your boots, order your normal size as opposed to a size down.

I ordered my boots online. The size as a bigger than I thought and had return them to my local store for a proper size. They didn't have my size in stock so I wait a couple of days for the replacement boots. I ordered a size smaller and they fit great! Real comfortable fit as advertised.

I love my Bean Boots. I go to school out in Michigan, and they've been great for both insulating my feet and keeping the snow out. They're comfortable and more fashionable than my old boots, and although they were a bit stiff at first, they've broken in nicely. I love these things and am a Bean Boot lifer for sure.

Boot is comfortable in all types and depths of snow. Excellent protection against the elements. Able to wear thicker socks as size runs a bit larger.

Perfect for North Eastern winters. I reccomend getting the 8' to be full protected. Size down as suggested and make sure to break in and laces are tight enough for max comfortability.

I figured, by reputation, these boots would be durable. However, I have been pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are. They are as easy to wear as my everyday boots, and in the winter are fast becoming my everyday boots.

Glad I read the suggested socks information. If the going is real tough, a pair or two of socks fit. They are also great to leave the laces loose for a quick out to shovel a path for little dogs to make their morning run. Either way they are a great boot investment, that I expect will last a lifetime. Thanks L.L. "COOL" Bean!

Like most others posting here, I too was skeptical about the sizing of bean boots. I normally order a size 10.5D for most other brands and (hesitantly) decided to order the size 9D. I did not go into a bean store to get sized but just read some online reviews and pulled the tigger....
Well, the size 9D fit great!! I have about my thumbs width between my big toe and the end of the boot. The boots fit very comfortably while wearing a pair of smart wool medium hike wool socks.
To help others with there sizing questions below is a list of other shoes/brands that I wear. Again, I ordered a size 9D.
Nike's 10.5
Sperrys 10.5
Addidas 10
Allen Edmonds 10.5D
Red Wing Boots 10D
Haflinger 43EU
The boots are the best. Waterproof. Durable. Stylish. I have worn them through a Michigan winter and on trips to Alaska fishing and Colorado skiing. Would recommend them to anyone.

Love the boots. Good quality. Bought for 18 year old son for Christmas. He normally wears 13M. Read reviews and purchased smaller size. Purchased size 12 and fits great even with thick socks. He has narrow to medium flat foot. Plan to purchase a pair for my other son as well and will probably buy his true as he has wide high arch and the size 12 is tight on him.
