I did not keep the coat. I thought it would not be warm enough for vey cold weather.

I had this same jacket for many years and loved it. I bought this one to replace it as the zipper broke. This one is much thinner and not as warm.

The ultralight coat fits on top and sleeves but flares out on the bottom to a wide tent like fit which is unflattering and not very stylish. I would like it to be more fitted on the bottom

Just average to say the least. Very, very light weight. Saturday night it is predicted to be 18 degrees. I'll know if it's going to keep me warm enough .DownTek will be good if it works My husband said he the coat it is "unattractive". A plus is that the hood actually fits ones head. A rarity! Fit is just o.k. I ordered the petite xl. I can't recommend it due to price. Not what I expect from LL Bean.

Nicely made coat except for the zippers. The zippers on the pockets were rough and scratchy. It was uncomfortable to take my hands in and out of the pockets. Also the main coat zipper was not as heavy a weight as other LLB coats and jackets I've purchased. It wasn't as easy to zip up, being lightweight. I was concerned that it might not hold up. Past coats had heavy duty zippers which really separated LLB from other manufacturer's coats. Other than this I would have liked to keep the coat.

I loved the coat until feathers started coming out of it.

I was expecting so much more from this coat. Not very warm or cozy for a full length winter coat. The color black is ruined with an ugly gray colored hood interior and neck area.

The coat is light and very warm. I thought it was the best winter coat that I have ever had, but an unfortunate issue is that the down feathers come out and when pulled create a small hole. These holes have to be repaired with a special tape (which LL Bean does not have in stock). So now I am wearing a new coat with 3 repairs already. In the future I hope that LL Bean can address this issue because otherwise it is a wonderful coat.

Warm coat, nice length and fit. Disappointed as the down material has already started coming out of the coat, and only purchased about one month ago. Expected better durability for the price paid

I like my ultralight 850 Down Coat for its warmth and style but the feathers inside the coat poke out! It is frustrating to be pulling feathers off your coat!

Coat is more lightweight than I expected, didn't think it would be warm enough so I exchanged for a different one.

I really needed a warm coat but unfortunately this one isn't it. I'm still cold wearing it.

I loved this coat. After 2 years I decided it needed cleaning. I read about cleaning down coats online. I followed instructions; machine wash, delicate, gentle dry in dryer. Wow! coat is ruinned and I cannot ever wear again. All the down bunched up in little balls.

Coat is lightweight and fits well but sheds a lot of down. I am worried that it will be a windbreaker by season's end.

This is a lightweight (and packable) longer coat. It is not heavy enough to protect against very cold temperatures or wind but works well in the 30s-40s F temps. And, as I learned today, disappointingly, it is NOT waterproof. In a steady but not crazy rain, the water soaked through the coat in all locations (torso, arms, underarms, thighs). I got the coat at the beginning of December 2022, so it's really brand new.

Love it; light but very warm and cozy! Previously I had to sweat a sweet quarter length coat for a few dollars more this is a vast improvement

Black XL petite - 5'2 155 lbs - I like larger coat to layer up underneath. Love the light weight & would only buy down insulation! Is warm at temps in the 20 degrees with just a light shirt underneath. Is not wind or water resistant/proof. Zipper at Top at bottom are great- would not buy a coat without this feature. Like the hood with out fake fur. Cons - don't like the way it bells out at the bottom as cold air drifts up the coat . Pockets are small & few. The coat would be perfect if it was tapered at the bottom & had larger square pockets on the front and a couple of large pocket inside. Like the coat don't love it ... haven't found exactly what I am looking for ...may return it.

I love the feel of the material, the pattern of the stitching and the weight of the coat. BUT, the cut was boxy and not at all flattering. I ended up returning it.

The coat is very cute and flattering. It comes in petite. I'm not very tall, its hard to find coats where the sleeves aren't too long, this fit perfectly. Love that its lightweight but still very warm. The downside is the fabric on the outer shell of the coat is very delicate and snags easily. My coat got caught on a shopping cart and it punctured a small hole. I now have feathers coming out. For the price, it's very disappointing.

Was looking for a good/great quality warm winter jacket, that doesn't break the bank. Thought I found it, but after owning about 3 weeks and only wearing a few times. I'm finding fairly large chunks of feathers come out.
