Shrunk a lot.. not a good value for the high price tag.

I have never reviewed an item before but feel so strongly regarding this item. I love the plaid's available and style but the material is awful. I washed exactly as directed and the material pills and mats.I purchased three of these which I will never wear.

Maybe the women in the northeast want a shirt made with thin, dainty fabric, but the women in the northwest want something that can keep up with them in the outdoors. The women in my family go snowboarding, and rock climbing, and cliff diving, and they want clothes that aren't going to fall to pieces after the first washing. For myself, I have purchased the wicked good flannel and chamois shirt. Since they are in same price range, I thought I was safe buying these flannels for my daughters. Wrong. They are lightweight and not for the outdoors.

This is a beautiful shirt however it shrunk when washed and dried. Not sure I will be able to use it due to shrinkage.

Plaid flannel hoodie seems like a great idea. Size was not a problem, but I thought the cut was a little weird and awkward.

Going by the description and reviews, I expected a soft, cozy, generously cut shirt. Instead, it was a bit on the small side, very short and boxy. The material seemed thin. (Not at all in fit or feel like my many other Bean flannel shirts.) Returned it.

I ordered the Vintage Black Watch, which is a very handsome pattern. I'm pleased about that part. I had purchased this same style two years ago, in a gray/white/gold plaid in M Reg, and this time I wanted a roomier fit, and opted for the Pet so it wouldn't look too long and sloppy. But I could tell right away the sizing was off and this was going to be too small. I washed it before wearing -- according to instructions, cold water, delicate cycle, very low dryer, removed promptly. But it shrank quite a bit. I laid it out and compared with my older one in the M Reg, and the old M is actually about an inch or so wider in the body! And that old M Reg has been washed/dried many times. It's ridiculous to think I would have to order an XL to get a comfortable relaxed fit! Obviously, as time passes, LL Bean seems to be cutting corners by reducing sizes. Very disappointing. And this was top dollar, too -- not purchased on sale. Not good!

On the order it showed a zippered front & dark draw strings. What I got was buttoned front & white draw strings. Fit too tight in shoulders for a XLarge

I have the same product purchased several years ago which has gone through many laundry cycles which has never shrunk and I really love. This one did shrink. I noticed that the label indicates a change in manufacturing location from El Salvador to Sri Lanka. So now I have to pay to return the poorer quality shirt. I used to trust LL Bean quality but not anymore.

Material is not as thick, and everything will adhere to it, etc hair, lint. Sleeves are short when you put out your arms, this has been an ongoing problem and I am 5 feet 4 inches. So I ordered a tall. Never fixed that problem. Starting to be like other companies going with cheaper material and charging more, just be aware. To much material where zipper starts and you will struggle with that. Will buy until Someone else makes a better product with the hoodie.

This hoodie is soft and I love the pockets but it seems to have shrunk a bit- especially in the arm length. I've washed it twice and it's also pilling a bit. I purchased on sale so I'm ok with it.

The hoodie is comfortable, however the blue plaid patten was not properly cut before sewing. The vertical colored lines on the left front side did not match up with the vertical lines in the right front side, making the pattern look very distracting. The hoodie style would benefit from some tailoring at the sides. It is more tent-like than I expected. A disappointing purchase.

I actually sent this back because I expect flannel to be warm--a substantial fabric. I have a warm, cozy flannel shirt from LL Bean of exactly the substantial flannel I was expecting. This hoodie was comfortable; however, the fabric was too thin to be used for a hoodie, so it was not warm at all. After some thought, I sent the hoodie back--something I rarely do with anything I buy from LL Bean. I got the sherpa-lined version of this hoodie for my daughter. The bodice was lined with sherpa, but not the sleeves. I finally called to see if there had been some mistake. The person I talked with said the sleeves were indeed lined, but with something else, not sherpa. We decided to wait and see how it would work on colder days and send it back if necessary. She finally got to try it out when the temperature went down to 30, and it was fine. The alternative lining does seem to work, and it is less bulky for sleeves than a sherpa lining would be.

The fit was ok. The Royal Stewart red plaid is not as rich as it used to be. Sort of a playdough red. I have an old one that is much nicer. I returned it.

The flannel is very soft and the fit is great, but all was not perfect. The first shirt I bought I had to return because I could not even unzip it due to the thick flannel practically covering the end of the zipper.I was afraid to force it thinking I may break it so it was frustrating and mailed it back.My replacement shirt is a lot better but there's still too much flannel too close to the zippers end.I have to push back the cloth in order to zip it.This should not be so difficult! The designer or someone should fix the problem, the shirt is not cheap and I shoud be able to zip it without even thinking about it.

I rarely write reviews, let alone negative ones but I am so disappointed. I first bought this several years ago- it fit like a dream! It was long enough to cover the buttocks but not quite as long as a tunic- perfect over leggings. After many wearings and washings, it still fits perfectly. The length seemed to correlate with the "low hip" length description of the current version so I did not even think to consider this new version- which has the same name and description as my original one - would be different. Imagine my utter disappointment when - after washing it and putting it on - it fell several inches shorter, landing mid buttock and accentuating them and my hips. It is not nearly as functional or comfortable due to this change in cut. Why mess with perfection??? If you're going to shorten it, give options for the great features and make the tunic with a hood and pockets. I am now stuck with something whose pattern I love but whose utility I lack. I expected better of LL Bean.

I returned this item. Unfortunately there were none at the store in my size. The one I received (shipped) had a problem with the zipper.
