I bought this for my wife just over 2 years ago. It has been a favorite of hers for winter wear. The hood is especially good when biking or hiking outdoors in the winter. Sadly the zipper broke during the washing cycle today (see photo). It does not seem to be repairable with the usual tricks. I would say this article of clothing has a 2-year lifetime.

the zipper has a leather pull and it is leaving a brownish/red stain on the flannel after I washed it a few times. i don't know how to remedy this.

This flannel fits well across the shoulders, upper back, and chest, and the length is good, but the waist area is surprisingly big - it's actually larger than at the hips. I expected relaxed fit to mean it didn't skim the body, but this is rather poofy around the middle. With that said, the flannel is soft, the patterns are nice, the leather on the zipper is a nice touch, and the pockets are great, but for me, it feels like it needs to be altered. For those with longer arms, this is borderline on arm length. The quality is good, but for me, the fit is a little off.

The flannel is soft and the shirt is mostly high quality, except for a few loopy threads and a cheap zipper. It shrank dramatically after one wash/dry on low. Fortunately I had bought big and it fits very loosely below the shoulders. Wish they would update to a higher quality zipper, and use pre-shrunk cloth, and allow more shoulder movements without extra fabric around the waist. I purchased a tall, although I don't need a tall in any other brand. For what it costs, it's disappointing, but a soft shirt with a unique design.

I love the style and workmanship, but the material was not the quality I would expect for the price.

I have 3 of these hoodies in XL that I purchased over the last 2 years and they fit perfectly: wash - dry in dryer - wear! They dry so nice, I don't even iron them.
The hoodie I just purchased was an XL but it was too small. The fabric quality was just like my previous 3 hoodies. My other three were made in El Salvador and the returned one was made elsewhere (maybe Nicaragua?) Maybe it was a different supplier or it could have been sized wrong.

I thought after many years of complaining to LL Bean about the shortness of their sleeves, they would get it right. NOT SO. Lovely material and the fit (Size L) was generous except for the SLEEVES. Other complaints- boxy style and way too long in the body. I also ordered an XL which has not arrived yet but I suspect that the sleeves will be longer but the body way to big and too long.
They offered TALL in a few colors but actually I normally do NOT need to buy Tall sizes.
Buyer beware if you have long arms. Nice heavy flannel. Too bad

Being 5'-7" tall always creates issues with clothing. Pants and shirt sleeves are always just a little too short. I read lots of reviews before purchasing this and decided to go with a large, and I decided that I didn't need a tall - I was wrong. Super disappointing considering the tall sizes are only available in very limited colors. Worse yet, I expected this to be a little more tailored than it is. This'll be a great jacket to wear with the sleeves rolled up, because after the first wash there is absolutely no way it's still going to cover my wrists.

The zip hoodie was too boxy. It made me look like a lumberjack. It went back.

Love the quality, pattern, colors and comfort of this jacket but do not like the length. Very roomy for a medium, which I like. If it were just a couple inches longer it would be perfect.

After reading reviews I was a confident about getting the XL instead of the L since I planned on wearing it as more of a sweatshirt/jacket. It is super soft and I love the colors. The sleeves and shoulders fit me perfectly, but the width is too big for me. I'm swimming in the width to the point I could fit it over all of my snow gear. Not exactly what I had intended, but maybe I can alter it to fit better.

Love the look. After one wash it looked like it was years old. The flannel pilled, and wrinkled. It also puckered at the zipper. I did not put it in the dryer. Very disappointed in the quality of the fabric.

The jacket itself was well-made but it is unlined. I expected some sort of lining it makes a product look finished. Just looks like it was started and just forgotten.

Very comfortable hoodie. Runs a bit large. I would have given 5 stars but following washing instructions the hoodie shrunk - mostly in length.

I was looking for a flannel shirt that would be warm. Unfortunately this shirt didn't match what I was looking for. It is quite short (I did order a petite but then again I'm only 5' 2") and a pretty thin material. I ended up returning it. If you're looking for something with a flannel book that isn't so warm this should stay in your consideration set.

The shirt is overall great but it shrunk way more in the dryer (on low following the care tag) then I ever thought it would. I had originally purchased the size large but returned it because it felt way too big and boxy to me. The medium was perfect when I received the exchange. I still think I will keep the medium because it is so soft and comfortable, I however would now describe it as fitted instead of relaxed after drying it. The sleeves now also feel short to me after the shrinkage.

I really wanted to love this, but being on the tall side, the sleeves were *just* long enough, and would have likely shrunk with washing. The length is on the short side, and the fit is boxy. The print is attractive though, and I would have exchanged it were it available in tall.

This is a great weight hoodie, but couldn't you make this hoodie with just about two more inches (or so) on the length, so that I don't have to tuck in the shirt under it? It's just too short for me to wear comfortably and I bet many other women feel the same way. We like things to cover the cold spot on our behinds (and cover some of the other areas we'd rather not share quite so much with the general public...)

I tried on a medium, loved the fit, beautiful light fabric, but the sleeves stopped above my wrists. I know I have long arms, but I don't usually wear tall sizes. The young woman at the store suggested a tall size, which doesn't exist, in store or online.

I thought it was nice, but the red color just wasn't bright enough for me. Also the material was a little thin. I took it back and did not keep it.

Loved the shirt and was very disappointed with the fit. The upper arms are too right especially with something heavy underneath. Must return it.

I really like this shirt but it is way too short. I would have preferred past the hip, but it was like to the top of my hips. (I didn't think I read sizing wrong... ??.)
I will still wear it but not one of my favorites at all.

I ordered the grey steward in xl regular. Flannel fabric is a good mid weight. Love the pattern. No lining. The body is very boxy/roomy, I think most would say oversized. Great for layering. But I have big biceps, so the sleeves were so tight that the armpit seam stopped at mid upper arm. Definite "fat guy in a little coat" feel. The 1x in plus is unflatteringly too big. I'll keep looking.

I guess I'm in the minority with this sweatshirt, because this jacket was huuugeeeee on me. I've ordered small from L.L Bean in the past and usually, my only problem is sleeve length. Ironically with this sweatshirt, the sleeves fit perfectly, but the belly has so much extra room that it looks like I'm carrying twins. I can almost wrap the material around myself twice before I zip it. Maybe this is more flattering on people with an Apple shape, but on my pear shaped body this sweatshirt looked quite large. I'm afraid if I go to an XS the sleeves will then be too small, but I'll try that and report back.
