Love the material and print but the fit is a bit off. I may have to get this tailored.

Only because the bottom does not line after you zip it ,there's a 1/4 inch difference at the bottom

Bought last year also and liked the little heavier weight of the flannel then much better. Who wants light weight flannel in Winter? The color is fab though and it's well made so ...

i guess most ppl have found one that fits ok. i like loose fit for layering room, and a bit longer sleeve for folding back cuff. and a longer overall length. think i may want a Tall in a med. or just wait for another style.
i've exchanged a Lg petite for an XL petite. i need more info before i exchange the XL pet for something else. may i have measurements for actual garment (not what it fits "up to" body measurements).
i'd like measurements of garment back length from base of neck to hem of the shirt tail,
and for sleeve length of actual garment, including the cuff. for a Regular, Plus, Petite, and Tall -
Med, Lg, and XL
thank you.

I really wanted to like this hoodie, so when a medium was too big, I exchanged it for a small. Unfortunately even the small fits like a tent. It's OK in the shoulders and sleeves but balloons out at the bottom. I don't know how LL Bean thinks women are built, but this isn't it. They also need to improve their customer service. When I returned the first order, I never got an email letting me know that it had been received, nor did I get an email when they shipped the exchange. I eventually figured out that I had to log onto my LL Bean account to track my order. Every other clothing company I have ordered from is much more customer friendly. The entire experience wasn't worth the trouble.

There's absolutely no shape to this at all. It's extremely boxy & not flattering. It does run true to size & looks just like the picture. I just didn't like it on my hour glass shape. I prefer a more fitted look.

I purchased this a few years ago and loved it. When I recently went to purchase a new one, I noticed the plus sizes are now a full fifteen dollars more expensive than the "regular" sizes. It's good quality, used to fit me great, and I wore it all the time. But the higher price was enough to dissuade me from purchasing this time around. Other comparable companies are able to make plus size clothing at reasonable prices, why not LL Bean? Will maybe wait for a sale.

I washed and dried this shirt, (along with several similar Bean shirts and pants) following the lowest settings and this one with the zipper shrank along the zipper seams and I don't want to wear it because it looks like a wrinkled mess down the front. I'm going to have to return it.

The fit is big and boxy, maybe it's intended to have layers worn under it, but I would be more inclined to throw a Jean jacket over it. Because of the extra size it looks silly under a jacket. It is perhaps my fault as the listing does describe it as a flannel SHIRT but I was expecting something a little bit warmer...It is truly the thickness if a shirt and does not add much warmth. I'm keeping it but for the price I'm not thrilled.

This garment would be great if it had a double zipper. I like to unzip from bottom when sitting.
After 3rd wash the leather zipper pull stained the fabric. Being I got the black and white it is very noticeable and right at the neck. I will be returning.

I wrote a glowing review of this hoodie and decided to purchase another one this year. While L.L.Bean has always been known for consistency, I think that era is over. My new shirt, while a nice flannel shirt, is completely inconsistent with the construction, the weight and versatility of the one I purchased last year. I'd like to think L.L.Bean was responding to some comments about it fitting larger and looser than expected, but I suspect it was the lure of saving about 6 in. of material all around. The length is about an inch shorter and there certainly isn't room for a nice warm sweater under this version of the tartan plaid hoodie. Nice savings for LLBean since the retail price remained the same. Very disappointed.

I love the concept of this shirt but it is lacking in execution. It has a baggy cut so that when it is zipped the front hem hangs out away from the body making an awkward silhouette. A smaller size won't help as it fits fine in the shoulders.

The hoodie is a nice weight. Definitely more of a sweatshirt than a flannel shirt. Unfortunately, the arm length was too short so I had to return the hoodie. I really wanted it to work but the sleeve ended above my wrist bone and did not feel natural.

I bought this for my wife just over 2 years ago. It has been a favorite of hers for winter wear. The hood is especially good when biking or hiking outdoors in the winter. Sadly the zipper broke during the washing cycle today (see photo). It does not seem to be repairable with the usual tricks. I would say this article of clothing has a 2-year lifetime.

the zipper has a leather pull and it is leaving a brownish/red stain on the flannel after I washed it a few times. i don't know how to remedy this.

This flannel fits well across the shoulders, upper back, and chest, and the length is good, but the waist area is surprisingly big - it's actually larger than at the hips. I expected relaxed fit to mean it didn't skim the body, but this is rather poofy around the middle. With that said, the flannel is soft, the patterns are nice, the leather on the zipper is a nice touch, and the pockets are great, but for me, it feels like it needs to be altered. For those with longer arms, this is borderline on arm length. The quality is good, but for me, the fit is a little off.

The flannel is soft and the shirt is mostly high quality, except for a few loopy threads and a cheap zipper. It shrank dramatically after one wash/dry on low. Fortunately I had bought big and it fits very loosely below the shoulders. Wish they would update to a higher quality zipper, and use pre-shrunk cloth, and allow more shoulder movements without extra fabric around the waist. I purchased a tall, although I don't need a tall in any other brand. For what it costs, it's disappointing, but a soft shirt with a unique design.

I have 3 of these hoodies in XL that I purchased over the last 2 years and they fit perfectly: wash - dry in dryer - wear! They dry so nice, I don't even iron them.
The hoodie I just purchased was an XL but it was too small. The fabric quality was just like my previous 3 hoodies. My other three were made in El Salvador and the returned one was made elsewhere (maybe Nicaragua?) Maybe it was a different supplier or it could have been sized wrong.

I thought after many years of complaining to LL Bean about the shortness of their sleeves, they would get it right. NOT SO. Lovely material and the fit (Size L) was generous except for the SLEEVES. Other complaints- boxy style and way too long in the body. I also ordered an XL which has not arrived yet but I suspect that the sleeves will be longer but the body way to big and too long.
They offered TALL in a few colors but actually I normally do NOT need to buy Tall sizes.
Buyer beware if you have long arms. Nice heavy flannel. Too bad

Being 5'-7" tall always creates issues with clothing. Pants and shirt sleeves are always just a little too short. I read lots of reviews before purchasing this and decided to go with a large, and I decided that I didn't need a tall - I was wrong. Super disappointing considering the tall sizes are only available in very limited colors. Worse yet, I expected this to be a little more tailored than it is. This'll be a great jacket to wear with the sleeves rolled up, because after the first wash there is absolutely no way it's still going to cover my wrists.

The zip hoodie was too boxy. It made me look like a lumberjack. It went back.

Love the quality, pattern, colors and comfort of this jacket but do not like the length. Very roomy for a medium, which I like. If it were just a couple inches longer it would be perfect.

After reading reviews I was a confident about getting the XL instead of the L since I planned on wearing it as more of a sweatshirt/jacket. It is super soft and I love the colors. The sleeves and shoulders fit me perfectly, but the width is too big for me. I'm swimming in the width to the point I could fit it over all of my snow gear. Not exactly what I had intended, but maybe I can alter it to fit better.
