LL Bean sweater Fleece fitted tight I normally wear xl in everything, but had to go to xxl for my sweater fleece . I had it given to me as a gift and I love the style and comfort! When I exchanged it through the mail, I asked for blue but was sent gray. I still like it, just wishing I had received the right color.

Very comfortable but not warm at all. And slight wind goes right through it

Too much material in the stomach area. Definitely did not feel slightly fitted.

I have a Bean fleece jacket that I love that I've had for several years. If it were still being made, I'd buy another in a heartbeat. This one looked to be as close as I could get to it with pocketing and its weight. I received one this last Chrismas, and was glad to get it. However, the fit is nowhere close to the other jacket I have. A large is too big and a medium is too tight, because of where the item is made snug and where it's long or short. I would keep it if I could find one that fit. It's another of several examples of where Bean has not left well enough alone... you go back to find an item you love, and they've changed it or it's been deleted.

It is typical import by LL Bean.......Not the "Old LL Bean Quality" .....warm and comfortable in the upper 20's/ lower 30's, but not below that temperature. Can not zip or unzip while wearing gloves. The attachment to the zipper is ridiculously small. Need to enlarge the zipper attachment.

Very disappointed in this garment. The fabric looks worn, the seams are not well finished and the seams are poorly done. I have one other fleece made in the same country. It is the newest one I had and of the seven I own, it looks the oldest. I've washed four times and the there are loose threads hanging in the seams. Since you do not say where the garments are made I will buy jackets where I can see the country of origin.

I like this fleece and will likely keep it, but it has some issues and therefore I give it three starts and I am hesitant to recommend it. It runs big and for some reason it does not have a drawstring at the waist. This seems like a big oversight for a winter fleece. Also another review mentioned that there is no elastic at the wrists, which is not a huge deal, but it is noticeable. I think LL Bean needs to make some revisions and then this will be a really nice fleece. At this point, it seems like a test run.

Loved the jacket, but the sleeves hang over most of my hand. Some elastic in the cuffs would have remedied this, like an older Bean fleece jacket that I have. Loved the Eucalyptus color. Get rid of the cartoonish name tag looking logo on the front of the jacket. It takes away from an otherwise great looking jacket. Sadly, I'm returning it.

Warm jacket but sleeves cling to shirt sleeves and require pulling down the end of the sleeve on the jacket to wear. Material is not the fleecy type and a bit rough to the touch. The zippers on the hand pockets are bothersome but inside of pocket is soft. Collar does not lie down and sticks up to chafe your neck. Having to constantly push collar down. Overall, seems to be ill-fitted and uncomfortable but appears to be very durable. This is not the soft fleece commonly seen in this type jacket.Would benefit by having elastic band at the end of sleeves.

I was looking for another polar fleece jacket, but couldn't find the style I had bought for years. I tried this "sweater fleece" but it is nothing like the traditional LL Bean polar fleece. The fabric was a little rough, not soft like traditional polar fleece. The fit was right, but the fabric is disappointing. Quality could be better. Another substitution of lesser quality to replace an old favorite that LL Bean has discontinued.

Overall it's a wonderful fleece however the sleeves are disproportionately too long and do not have any sort of banding at the end.

This sweater does not keep my arms warm when the weather gets into the 40sF, which is a huge disappointment. The navy looks great on this female's body! I wear it with jeans mostly, as intended. Periodically, the zipper gets stuck at the point where the collar meets the body of the sweater. Have to get a neighbor to help me get out of the sweater over my head because I am afraid I will cause the sweater weave part (not the fleece part) to get caught in the zipper and ruin the exterior fabric; bummer.

to replace an old and pliable wonderful fleece jacket, this doesn't quite make it -- the edges of the jacket make it stiff so it is a bit hard to turn up the cuffs, zip up, and above all, prevent the collar from lying flat. If I do force it to lie flat like a normal spread collar, it doesn't stay, and the edge is darker than the fleece, making it look like an Alpine style antique.

I read the LLBean customer reviews on this one and was concerned regarding the multiple comments on difficulty of taking it off/on with the sweat sleeves not being lined. I mostly solved this concern by purchasing a one size larger (ie, I normally wear a L so I purchased an XL). I had also planned on wearing a heavier shirt/sweater under this sweat, so the XL was a good choice for me. The XL size did come with a too long (for me) arm length but I knew that was going to be the case so I am OK with a short roll-up of the sweat sleeves. I do believe that a next LLBean design with lined sleeves would be a winner!

I'm much more concerned with it's use than just fashion-plate looks---which are just fine! So, I spoke with a product specialist RE: pocket sizes, and was given measurements (which were adequate), and was my major concern---problem is that the zipper size doesn't allow either wallet or phone to fit into the chest pocket. (Zippered pockets do offer far more secure use, however, they're too small for everyday items)---zipper pull-tabs are also "tiny." Fit & finish was fine, and the lining definitely allows layering and more versatile use---would have preferred a standup synthetic collar material that would wear better than this one. Also, I told the rep I wanted to use my $10 rewards, and that was not applied---seems to me that should be an automatic HEADLINE on my account for those taking orders???

This sweater fleece material isn't what I expected; it's finely ribbed, not as thick, and doesn't feel like my Bean's fleece vest on the outside. (The inside is more what I expected.) It fits great around the shoulders and chest, but the sleeves are 4" too long and there's no way to keep the cuffs from extending past my fingertips. (I wear a 16/32 dress shirt.) And there's a small hole in the left sleeve just above the cuff band. I'll return it and see if another fleece jacket will work.

I was looking to replace a well-worn LL Bean mid-weight fleece jacket and wanted something similar. This is not it. This feels and fits more like a sweater than a jacket. I don't need another sweater and this sweater-jacket is no warmer than my cotton sweaters. It is too snug to wear anything but a shirt under it. The sleeves are fairly narrow and clingy on the inside. I am dissatisfied with this product and will return it.

Typically top notch L.L. Bean product with one exception: the sleeves are way too long and there is no elastic in the bias tape to control the sleeves like other well-designed fleece jackets. Disappointing to have to take an $80 jacket to a tailor to make it like it should have been in the first place.

My husband did not like the styling of the collar. He also felt that the arms were a bit snug for his body type. He did like the fabric and color, but I returned it because he was not a real fan and I knew he would not wear it as intended.

I bought this to add to my collection of fleece. I have two other LLB fleece jackets and was looking for something in charcoal grey. I purchased this and was somewhat disappointed. It's been about 5 years since I bought a fleece jacket and was not aware what "sweater fleece" is. You hold this up to the light and you can see through it, to a degree. Not like my older fleece jackets. I decided to keep it but after wearing it a few times I wish I had sent it back. I guess I can live with the material...in fact I kinda' like it...but the inside of the jacket is fleece looking but for some reason this type of fabric makes it very difficult to slide over my dress shirts.
Next purchase I'll be more aware of the fabric type and read all the way thru the item description. The jacket says "slightly fitted" in the back/top but didn't notice that description until way down towards the end of the web page description.

I think the best way I can describe my disappointment with this product is that I feel it is billed as and built like a standalone fleece jacket, but it isn't. The fleece feels heavy, but it wasn't all that warm, and it has absolutely no wind resistance. It feels too bulky to wear comfortably under other jackets I already own, and you can't add much underneath.
So, while it looks great and fits well, I can't recommend it and will be returning it.

Initially. I loved the top, it is warm, and comfortable. However, after just a few washings, wareings it "pills" pretty badly... I usually wear a top like this 3-5 times before washing. I bought two of these in October of 2018, and by early 2019, they already look shabby... this would be after on 6- 8 washings and less than 20 wearings. They are not durable, compared to other LLBEAN fleece tops I have bought in the past. Not recommend.
