I recently purchased the Sweater Fleece Jacket (Large), and find it very warm and comfortable. The best part is having a full length zipper, which can be used as you go from indoors to outside. The zipper allows you to adjust to changing heat levels easily, and not have to take the fleece on and off, as with so many other fleece products. I chose the slightly fitted version, which fits me perfectly. As usual with most L.L. Bean products, excellent quality and workmanship. Looking forward to using it all winter here in N.J.,where it can be 5 degrees at 6AM, and 45 degrees by 2PM on the same day.

It's light, good looking and well constructed. It does not fit perfectly because of my odd size. I have long arms and a short torso. I bought the long large which is somewhat short in the sleeves and too long in the torso.
I still prefer a good Llbean merino wool sweater.

Should have ordered XL instead of XXL. Jacket fits well other than the sleeves being about two inches longer than I prefer. The lining in the sleeves is of a materiel that pulls my long-sleeved shirt cuffs up when it grabs or impedes the sliding of the shirt sleeve. One must reach up at the wrist and try to adjust the shirt sleeve down to be comfortable. The weight of the jacket is ideal for our central California coast weather.

The quality of the jsweater jacket seems to be good but the arms are too long for me and the fix is just relaxed enough to fit around the middle.

Great jacket but sleeves need slippery lining-----hard to get on over a sweatshirt

The jacket is well made and the overall weight is perfect. It keeps me very warm in moderately cold weather. We haven't had extreme cold winter weather yet so I can't answer to that. My only problem was that the sleeves were slightly too long for me and I didn't particularly like the cuff, although the sleeve length was right according to the chart. My shirt sleeve length is 32" and the chart says 33 - 34. It would have been alright if it had a tighter cuff. But no problem. I have a friend in the alteration business and she simply turned the sleeves under one inch over added elastic and voila, the perfect jacket. Of course if the length had been right for me I would have used it as is but in my opinion, adding the elastic cuff improves the jacket. I bought the cayenne red color which is very nice. One other feature which is a must for me is the chest pocket. Other similar jackets do not have this.

This jacket does not block the wind. In my experience, this jacket generates lots of static.

Looks and fits great, but not as warm as I expected. I've worn fleece jackets for many years, but this model doesn't match older Bean products. I'll need an additional inner layer for the cold mornings. Still, a very nice product. The large inside pouch pockets are very useful, as well.

Nice sweater fleece jacket but not on par with other LL Bean products. Other manufacturers offer superior products at similar or better sale prices with more pockets and better tailoring.

Fits well and is warm and comfortable. Hard to keep underlying shirt sleeves from riding up when putting on. Collar does not lay back well.

As with other reviewers, I noticed the fabric started pilling after only a few weeks. Quality just didn't seem to match the price.

LLBean fleeces and shirts are full in the body. I am lean, so they always seem too big. M Tall Bean shorts fit me perfect, but not in fleece. So I have to buy large regular, and they always seem big.

I am so disappointed in the quality of this sweater. I like the color and the styling and the fit, but after only 3 weeks of wear the fabric is pilling near the elbows. I have some LLBean jackets that look great after many years of wear.

Nice material and design. A little big in the body, but i am between an M and a L. You M tall shorts fit me perfectly, but no the fleece, so I went L regular. It it's a nice fleece.

I am very pleased with my Fleece sweater. It is very warm and comfortable.I wear it often in place of my windbreaker jacket. I especially like the full zipper. I will order another one soon.

I talked with the sales rep at leagth in my search for something like the jacket I already have, and equally warm, but in a different color. This item has not delivered. The material seems thinner, and not nearly as warm. I wear it indoors, and it is still not as warm.

Stylish for sure, but lacks a bottom 'cinch it up' cord like other brands have. Bottom edge floats around too much, too open, allowing cold air up into body area. Not as warm a jacket as it could be.

I usually buy Bean's shirts and jackets in a small. The sweater fleece full zip in small was too snug for comfort so I'm returning it. There were a couple of minor anomalies in the front where the stitching from interior features distorted the front surface. Otherwise the quality seemed good. I didn't wear it much as it wasn't comfortable due to the size.

I would usually wear a Large Tall for a sweater or fleece jacket. I was very disappointed that this jacket was so tight as to be very constricting and hard to move in. I returned it and ordered it in XL-T in hopes that that might work for me. Since it is currently backordered, I will have to wait to find out.
Disappointed,

Just not as comfortable as my prior version. It's a bit too heavy, and the sleeves too tight.

The sweater fleece is very well made. The materials and details rival and even best the more expensive Better Sweater. I'm a rounder guy, and the body and length is perfect. The flaws though require alterations to be done. The arms were so long that they reached almost to my knees. The width of the arm hole could fit a large coffee can. I had to pay to have the length and width of the arms to make it possible to even wear the jacket. A much smaller second issue is that the collar never wants to fold down. It's like how frat guys wore their polo shirt collars in the 80's popped up. Hopefully that will resolve in time. I recommend this jacket only if you can find an L.L Bean store that carries it (both stores in my area not only don't carry it, they had never heard of it) so that you can try it on first, or expect to possibly pay for alterations. Disappointing in something that costs over $100. Hopefully future runs of this fleece can be made with arms that match a human instead of something more akin to a gorilla.

I'm an old guy. I have become accustomed to a high level of manufacturing quality in everything I have purchased from LL. This item is NOT of expected, traditional quality. Given the fabric and the stitching, I am not sure how long this item will last. In visiting the store to purchase Christmas gifts, I was confronted with items which were no where like the items in the catalog in terms of color or fit. This item is a gift and we'll see if the recipient decides to return it.
