The shirt was very soft to the touch and the plaid attractive. However, I was disappointed because I purchased this shirt as a Christmas gift specifically because it was written up in the catalog as Portuguese flannel. I knew that the best flannel was Portuguese or German. When I received the shirt, I noticed that the label said it was made in Malaysia - not Portugal as described in your catalog. I was extremely disappointed because I have always regarded LL Bean as totally reliable in all aspects of their business.

The quality is very nice. The flannel is neither too heavy or light. The fit is correct for my husband. The colors are nice and bright also.

My wife showed me a picture of this shirt And I wasn't able to tell much about it. When the LL Bean shirt arrived it was a Nice surprise...The fabric so rich-looking And the Feel of it so soft.We will order More of these shirts.

I've been waiting six months for these shirts. Why not have at least a few available during the year. Fit is a little large for the size (men's large) but since I expect some minor shrinkage, I'm sure it will be fine. Comfortable from the start; good workmanship.

I would not have ordered a second if I didn't like the first.

For this time of year this a great shirt. It fits well, easy to wash and it looks good right out of the dryer.

I always find your products to be a great value, they are comfortable, never fade and last a long time.

I haven't worn it yet, but I was pushed for a recommendation. I have 8 or 9 choice Scottish flannel shirts most of them from Bean, so I do not expect to be disappointed.

As usual LL Bean comes through perfectly. Free shipping, came very fast and this shirt is very, very soft and handsome.

I bought this shirt for my husband and he likes it. I do not know how does it wear and washes and whether it will pile (will try not to forget to update this review in a few months on that) but it looks nice, feels nice.... just a little too thin fabric, thinner then I'd like a flannel shirt to be.

Like the shirt pretty well, I ordered another one. I would like it better if the flannel were a tiny bit heavier. Fit is good, a little bit roomier than some of my other "Large" shirts.

This shirt has great colors and is wonderfully soft. I bought one for my dad (65 y) and one for my husband (41 y). My dad likes his, but my husband thought the shirt would be too warm and that it was slightly constricting in the shoulder area. I'll have to return the one that was for him.

The quality is unmatched. However, the sleeves are unusually long. I'm a 33 inch and it was too long for me. I'm hoping it shrinks a bit.

Although erroneously named ( and gratingly so for anyone of Caledonian sensibilities ), the shirt is nonetheless warm, soft, durable and attractive. It is the kind of shirt one hopes to bequeath one's heirs, well worn and redolent of memory. Collect the set, and wear them eternally.

Love the shirt and the colors. Good quality but I expected it to be a little thicker material for the price. Overall though a great shirt. VERY SOFT after washing...

Overall this is a nice shirt. The flannel is very soft and supple, yet it seems to be holding up well after a few washes. Really the only gripe I have is that the body and sleeves are a bit too roomy. I'm a slender/fit 6'0" and 175lbs and the shirt has a bit of extra fabric around the mid section and from the armpit down to the elbow. I have a medium, which would be a perfect fit for me if it were available in llbean's trim fit.

The shirt is comfortable and easy to wear. The plaid patterns are attractive and not garish. The button down collar prevents the corners of the collar from curling up which can be a problem with flannel and chamois shirts. My only criticism is that the fabric feels a bit lighter than has been the case with L.L. Bean shirts I've purchased previously.

I bought this as a gift for my son. His reponse was all positive about the shirt, in each dimension. However I had it monogrammed as an extra touch and the J is a wierd shape, rendering the entire monogram uneasily recognizable. A potential source of constant questions. Why not make the J a normal shaped J?
