Only used it one time so far. And if the days ahead feel like today, IT was one good buy!

I purchased the shirt as a Christmas gift for my son. We have an ancestor from the McNeil line and when I saw that as one of the choices I thought that would be appropriate.

I ordered several Scotch plaid flannel shirts for my husband, as he wants his shirts to be soft, but they must keep him warm. The Scotch plaid flannel shirts are exactly that. I appreciate the ease of wash and wear. Be sure to wash and rinse in cold water and dry on low temperature.

The Scotch Plaid Flannel Shirt replaces a nearly identical years-old LL Bean flannel shirt. The replacement shed more lint in the dryer trap on the first two washes (permanent press cycle for washer and dryer) than expected. The original seemed to have a weave more dense and slightly heavier than the new flannel. Thankfully, the colors are nearly the same. The new flannel is softer, though. Very good, but they don't make 'em like they used to.

I ordered from LL Bean because the quality of flannel that I found locally was not good. I am happy with the weight and look of the flannel. I hope my husband thinks so too when he opens it for Christmas.

Soft, well-built and delivered in good time.Something other than plaid prints might be nice so I can order one each year for my brother without him getting bored with plaids.

I ordered 2 flannel shirts. The price was high but I expected great shirts. I was totally disappointed, I could have purchased the same quality at a local store for 1/3 of the price. They looked ok but were thin as a plain old cotton shirt. On a happy note, I returned them and got a full refund. I was not charged anything for the return shipping. Thank you LLBean, I will order again. I have always been happy with your products before this one.

This is a gift and it hasn't been given yet. The purchase arrived when it was predicted and in good condition. I have received constantly good service from LL Bean.

Purchased this for my 6' husband, in size M. This seems like a good quality flannel shirt. Boxy fit, good length (even after putting it through the wash). We both liked the shirt enough to buy a second one.
Side note about the Grey Stewart pattern. It's different than the website picture. The "placket" consists of one of the mostly-solid-grey verticals, rather than the greenish/reddish part of the plaid as pictured. It's an unusual choice, especially with the high-contrast black buttons. It makes the pattern seem more "vertical", and gives the shirt a strange "fancified" look, which I don't love. But my husband doesn't care, because he just plans to wear the shirt around the house, chopping wood, etc. I'll try to upload a photo with this review.

This is my second flannel shirt. The first arrived in October, and the third one arrives next week. I live in Northern Ontario and I like clothes that are practical, warm and yet presentable. These shirts look great with a pair of jeans, and if you have to go to a chamber of commerce lunch, just throw on a blazer. They wash nicely and iron easily. Luckily I don't have to do the suit & tie show anymore. These shirts fit in with business casual or dropping out to the pub to watch the hockey game. Plus, I need a few new shirts. I am still wearing shirts I bought from LLBean three years ago. They won't wear out! So I had to add something in the way of a new look.

I am disappointed that the monogram is the same color as the shirt so it cannot even be seen that his name is on it. It surely should have been done in a contrasting color.

Really good shirt, but don't put in dryer. Hang dry to preserve fit and sharp definition of plaid.

I will start by saying that Bean products are awesome! I have worn their clothes, shoes, boots, etc for years. I ordered a large in the Buchanan pattern and when I tried it on, it swallowed me. I have several large LL flannel shirts in the closet that fit perfect. I don't know if they have changed their sizing to run a more loosely or not. I am very disappointed to find that all sizes in this color/pattern are sold out as I would have tried a medium.

I love the look of this shirt for my husband. It's a great quality and construction but.......every single time he starts to put it on, he says "this shirt is too short". He is 5'10 and wears a Large medium. If I order him another I will try a Large Tall (even though he is not a tall man). I am afraid the sleeves will be too long.

I'd recommend this shirt for wearing in the fall and where winters are very mild. Fabric is lighter weight than I thought it would be.

Great shirts, but it does seem as though the patterns are more limited and less attractive than in the past.

The shirt is very soft and good quality, but the medium (what I typically wear) was extremely baggy on me. I am around 5'11", 165 lbs with a 39" chest. The sleeves, chest and waist were all very very loose fitted.
I advise sizing down if you are on the slimmer side.

I ordered two shirts for my husband, and this is the first time we have gotten him anything from LL Bean. I ordered based on the size chart, and got him a large. We received the MacNeil shirt yesterday, and while it is very soft, well made and a great color, the sizing was way off on him. The large was enormous, tons of room in the arms, chest and stomach area. Not really sure if these run bigger (do vanity sizes exist for men?) or if they are just supposed to be cut extra generous, but we'll be heading to an LL Bean store to have him try on a medium, because the shirt is very nice otherwise.

Just received the Black Watch shirt today. The color is dead on and the stitching and overall quality seem good. The fit is also just right, especially in the sleeve length. Therein lies the problem. My arms are about one half-inch longer than standard sizing. My concern is washing the shirt. If it shrinks even a little, it'll be too short. Does anyone have any feedback on washing these?
Otherwise, shirt looks and feels nice. Four stars until I wash it.

Picture of the Gray Stewart on line looks like the stripe is a rust/orange hue. When the shirt arrived it is a very bold candy apple red. While I like the shirt the color doesn't match the picture on the website. I've order probably around 15 flannel shirts from LLBean and this is the first time the color didn't match what I saw on line and am disappointed. Otherwise a beautiful shirt. The other colors are very accurate.

Got the Black Stewart, Black Watch, Macbeth, and Royal Stewart flannel shirts, and they are extremely soft and warm. BUT, my favorite Scotch tartan is Royal Stewart, and the shirt I received had a red that is nowhere as bright as in the catalog picture. Sent it back, and reordered, thinking that it was just a bad batch, but the second copy was identical to the first, and had to send that one back too. With the exception of that problem (which is annoying because I like the Royal Stewart tartan so much), these are great shirts. Has anyone else had this problem with color?

I bought my first LL Bean flannel when the movie Christmas Vacation came out with Chevy Chase. He was wearing one of the shirts and I remembered seeing it in the catalog. I still have the shirt and bought a few more, but the Black Watch shrank and I gave it to my son who still wears it. So I bought another Black Watch and it shrank but not as much. The other shirts didn't shrink as much, and I love them. So I am ordering one of the new color patterns and hopefully it will keep its shape. But I love LL Bean products and I have a pair of khakis from 1988, I have gained a few pounds and keep them in the closet just in case some day I lose weight. I know this is crazy.

I believe I ordered this one in blue as the primary color. Love the color palette. I really enjoy the weight as I often do not need to wear a jacket or coat over this shirt. My only ding against this shirt is sizing. An L fits me ridiculously long in the body and sleeve; I feel like I'm wearing a tent. A M fits me at just about the shortest it could be and still tuck it in comfortably and the sleeves are about 1/4 in. (maybe a tad less) short; the M felt fitted, but not tight on my body. You may have to buy two sizing to get the fit right for you. Otherwise, I love this shirt and continue buying them.

Other than the fabric being not as heavy as previous flannel shirts purchased from L. L. Bean, it did wash and dry without wrinkles.
