Fit not good.

I have an old pair of venture 5 that were much nicer than these. They cheapens the shoe in the following areas. 1) shoestrings are very thin. 2) insole support non-existing compared to the 5’s. 3) weird padding by the toes. 4) seem to be slightly smaller than the 5’s. Overall, not sure I’m keeping them. I would have to replace the insoles if I do.

I have owned Asics Gel 6, 7, and now 8. The 6, which I loved and still have, is the best true to size fit and most comfortable. Both the 7 and 8 fit smaller than the 9.5 I ordered and are narrower. Don't know why shoes, and clothes for that matter, no longer fit true to size. I realize most of these items are made out of the U.S. anymore but what about quality control? If it were my company, I would be keeping a close eye on it rather than lose business. Looks like I find another shoe brand in the future.

This is my second pair of Gel Ventures. The first was the 6 and I loved them. The 6 started as a work shoe and was very comfortable. The job ended and they became workout shoes. I really used them hard. Excellent shoe. First impressions of the Venture 8 are not so great. I ordered a size 10 and had to return them for a 10.5. Excellent service by Zappos as always! There is very little felt difference in the size 10 and the 10.5. Time will tell if they give me any problems. I am disappointed in the laces on these Venture 8’s also. I need good strong laces that feel hefty in my hand. These are a long way from hefty. They feel more like ribbons you would use to wrap a gift. I will say that the tread of the shoe is very aggressive and should last a long time. Asics is not known for making a gym shoe for hard workouts but for making running shoes. I would keep this in mind when shopping Asics.

I purchased 9D, however, felt at least half a size small. Also, a little uncomfortable on inner heels. A little tight there too. The shoe's toe are to pointy for my liking. I couldn't really tell from the picture. Zappos return policy was GREAT.

My goal for these was as a cross training shoe with some tread to use for a wide range of activities. I am size US10.5 but these were tight in that size especially in the toe box, so I returned them and got the US11 instead. Unfortunately the 11s are swimming on me but somehow still feel snug around the instep. When the laces are tightened they are uncomfortable, when loosened my foot moves around. The cushioning is suprisingly not that great especially in the forefoot. Because they're low-priced and I don't want to wear out my welcome with Zappos I am keeping them for around the house but as an all purpose workout/outdoor shoe they are far inferior to last year's Adidas GTX and even my Nike cross trainers from 10 years ago. The search continues...

Not much room in the toe area…. Cheap shoelaces…. Narrower than previous Contend series….overall, meh

Can't really say much about the shoe, since the fit wasn't right for me.

Look great and the price can’t be beat but these are way too narrow for 4E widths. Going back today.

I need a wider sneaker, size 5E OR 6E. I ordered a different pair earlier tonight.

Not my fav by any means. The soles are not very flexible or soft, so they don't mold to your feet.

The insole is basically flat and not comfortable

I've ordered several pairs of Asics in a 12.5 with no issue, until this pair. I would need at least a 13.

Quality is dropping on this shoe. I've been buying this shoe for several generations. Each generation feels a little bit cheaper than the last. They used to include high quality round laces, but now VERY cheap feeling flat ones. My last pair had the soles separate after just a year of moderate use. Tread was fine, but shoe was falling apart. This pair just feels cheaper. Not as comfortable as previous generations (do they even still have gel?) Also the side wall of the shoe doesn't extend as far forward on the toe (maybe that is where they took out a shoe lace hole) making less supportive at the ball of your foot.

Everything was great, except my heel kept slipping. I used all the eyelets and tied it tighter than normal, but still slipped.

The fit of the shoe was good. I walk 4 to 5 miles a day. I’ve had the shoes about a month and have already worn a hole through the top of the shoe by the big toe

It’s nice to find a truly wide shoe. Unfortunately, it is a race between whether the fast wearing sole or the quickly wearing heel goes first. These shoes do not last very long.

I really like ASICS. Bought many pair but these may have been mismarked. I have medium wide toes but these would accommodate big foot in toe box. I’ll try again later.
